Collin still sounds the same today as back then. A real, pure talent. Not many like that out there, anymore. Anyhow, I still love his voice and songs 2day
100% Agreed and that’s all I listen to is 90s country it was a masterpiece of a decade so many hits so many ballads so much talent came from that period of time I wish time stood still for the just that reason to just still have all them in there prime putting out hit after hit Colin raye is my favorite then Aaron tippin Sammy Keshaw Toby Keith and brooks & Dunn
When my Grandpa died years ago, I did his eulogy and quoted the words to this song. My Grandma had died young and Grandpa lived for 21 more years. He would often say that he hoped she would be waiting for him when his time came. To this day this song brings tears to my eyes.
In 61 my wife and I asked our parents permission to marry. Both sets of parents said no. We jumped in the car and got married on the way to my first duty station. Oct 14, 1961. It's been over 60 years now. What an Awesome young lady.
His voice is just one of those that you could listen to all day. I got to see Collin in person at Collinfest in 2008, even got a picture with him. I had the song "She's gonna fly" played at my mom's funeral because she had such severe Alzheimer's in her final 10 years, that I couldn't even carry on a conversation with her. She couldn't speak words any longer, and I prayed so hard that God would take her home again because while she looked like my mom, everything inside of that shell was no longer my mom.
Wow, he sounds exactly like he did when he was young. Gosh, country music now isn't nowhere close to as good as it was when songs like this came out. Great performance!
Thats a great country ballad. Collin can still dish out amazing songs . Nice backup musicians the key board player, fiddle, guitar. The younger generation of musicians. Nice to see.
My husband is big rock and roll fan! As for me country all the way! First time my love heard this song he told me this was his song to me, he asked me to not give up on him. WE have been married 43 years! We never gave up!
My grandad used to play Collin's songs and now that I'm a grown up, I still listen to his songs and it brings back a lot of good memories. As the saying goes, old but gold.. it makes me think of the good old days so much. This is sooo nostalgic. 🥺💖
l agree with you, indeed Collin Raye is a great and talented artist who's songs never goes out of style, he's one of my favorites artist, he's songs still and always heals the Soul, I pray God gives you lot of beautiful days.

this song came out when i was 10 yrs old and 31 yrs later i still remember every word, every note and it still takes me back to a time when life was still full of possibilities and wonder and i didn't know that point in time wouldn't ever come again. 31 yrs later and everyone i ever loved is already gone but sometimes when i listen to this song i silently in my mind sing it to them all. when you get to a certain point life stops giving and starts taking away so remember if you still have someone, anyone in your life....... let them know you love them and thank God for blessing your life with the people you love.
My dad introduced me to a lot of country music throughout the years, including Collin Raye. I've been buying an abundance of it again so I have a collection of the best he ever played for me and this song has always been a favorite of both of ours. I rebought Collin's greatest hits CD last week and found this in my UA-cam feed this morning on what would have been my dad's 52nd birthday. Thanks for the song and the memories, absolutely love this channel and the performances I've heard from it

I do wish I could let him know how much I appreciate his music. I grew up listening and am 40 now and still get that “Collin Raye” song feeling. Thank you
Yeah he's a great singer, although with tenors being rare in country music at the time, he was unfortunately eclipsed by the even much greater tenor country artist of that era Vince Gill. Although to be fair to Collin, Vince Gill had/has a way of making even the greatest singers sound just average. Long ago I noticed, and have discussed it with others many times, that each time Vince Gill does a duet with another artist, even the most highly renowned artists in the world, the other artist always sounds good, even spectacular at first, but ends up sounding something a lot closer to just average after Vince begins to sing. And sorry, I didn't intend to hijack your comment, but just now, as I was finishing up my comment here, I just thought of something my dad seen on TV years and years ago and told me about during a conversation we were having about Vince, and have to include it. I don't know for sure who it was (It's been so many years ago that I'm not sure if I've just forgotten now, or if my dad just didn't even remember the singer's name at the time), but he told me about another famous singer from that same time period or earlier that he seen being interviewed by a reporter, and speaking of the first time he heard Vince Gill, he said something very similar to "Yeah, I remember the first time I ever heard Vince. I was at (insert whatever venue it was here), just outside the concert hall, and I could hear the performer covering one of my popular songs, and I remember thinking to myself, who the hell is this guy singing my song so much better than me." lol, I just thought that was great, and funny as well. I wish I knew, or could remember who the other singer was, but unfortunately I can't. Again, I just had to include it... Forgive me :)
Got damnnnn whoever is running this sound is amazing …I got a guy out here , where I am , I’d rather not say who I am or what I do….but he’s awesome ….this sounds excellent !
Collin has a beautiful voice I was lucky to meet him a few yrs. ago when my brother in law was a audio engineer for him. Collin keep up that wonderful music.
My husband gave me this song, "Love Me" when it first came out. My dad didn't like him, and the lyrics reminded him of us. We didn't have a note, just 42 years of a happy marriage. My husband passed away in 2021. I know I'll see him again. Love never dies.

After all these decades, his voice is so pure, smooth and clean as a fresh fallen snow.
Damn, that voice... It isn't going anywhere!

Funny question I know, but did (both sides of) the family get used to the idea of you two being married?
6 decades ago.. Congratulations.
@@jasonayres great question. It took my father-inlaw a while to come to grips with it. My mother-in law was ok in
short order.
@@bobburke2248 Well, that's congratulations on over 6 decades of marriage, and about the same amount of time in "family diplomacy".
👍
What a beautiful story. Much love and respect to you and your bride, sir! 🙏🏻
Did either side ever recant? ❤️🐈
I've been listening to Colin Raye's songs for 24 years. He sounds like he hasn't aged at all. Thank you Colin for the wonderful songs.

Ben Hall on guitar. Not sure on other two....but they are very good for sure.
I have heard the song, but never heard of the singer. He has to have the most spectacular voice for his age I have ever heard. Unbelievable.
Sounds as good if not better than when it was a radio hit! He nailed it here!! Excellent voice!
Wow so nice voice..My first time to hear his voice...watching fro. The Philippines

I had tears running before the first chorus.
Same here
I cry every time I listen to this song. After an amazing and most blissful life of 37 years, I lost my wife and my best friend in 2021.
