Having personally worked at Honda facility in Noida it is just so heart breaking so see such a thing happen to a newly launched model. I think this would be one of the shortest lifecycle of a car from production to discontinuation. I was actually working on the setup of the new production line for the Civic and now after a few years, I am hearing everything just got shoutdown.. Very sad but somewhat foreseeable.

I bought this car Petrol Automatic in September 19 . The car build quality is really good. Handling is superb. CVT is smooth for city drive and good for highways once you get used to it. Civic is BS6 with 5 star safety. The main reason for discontinue is Indian public these days want any" dubba" named SUV. Car manufacturers are selling hatchbacks with high heels with zero safety named as suv and people are buying them. India is not Market for quality cars.

Yesterday I went to Honda dealership near me to do Service of my 5th Gen Honda city..
I love Honda Cars India but the Coincidence is the points you have mentioned about civic is same to Wrv,City, jazz, crv, etc I exactly discussed same points with my sales executive..
1)Wrv is such a outdated car with no turbo engine..and misses lot of features.. Competition in Compact suv segment is going on next level..but still people r buying wrv,1000+ units honda is selling of wrv only because of Honda Name and its reliability
2)Jazz- When i discussed about jazz with honda's sales executive he said "There is such a disappointment seeling Jazz standing in showroom..even When i see jazz in showroom I feel demotivated..."
Literally his talk hurt me as a honda cars india lover
    3) Civic - He said that his whole team were in shock when honda announced discontinuation of Civic..such a beauty Civic is..
Ps- After going back to home when my city's service was done I took Civic's remaining brochure with me so as to remember this beauty forever and collected this brochure for collection for future
Becoz I love Civic and everyone loves it
Crv - Worlds best selling car discountinued in India..becoz we indians are exceptional and follows bhed chal..honda should had reduced the price of crv..as they were giving 5-6 lacs rs discount
Amaze - its is selling in good numbers but need more features like projector headlamps, better touch screen, interiors etc
City - Above points you have mentioned in video is correct but there is no overall good practical mid size sedan other than city
Verna lacks rear seat space,Vento and rapid are decade old..only enthusiast people buys it,Yaris does not look good etc competition..every car has its pros and cons..Still City is the best in Segment
Moral: Honda should improve its portfolio and launch newers cars like Hrv which Creta Rival,Zrv in compact sedan etc if they really want to survive in 3rd largest car manufacturer market which is india..Else We had seen examples like Chevrolet leave indian car market and ford is also doing the same and we dont want Honda to do the same..so Change the indian ceo of honda cars india and do experiments because doing experiments can change your life...
So, this was my personal suggestion for honda cars india and gagan sir if you can forward this comment to honda cars india as a feedback please send..
    Thanks!

There was a time where SUVs were considered for douchbags. Especially as a date car with a woman on the passenger seat.
Sedans were the enthusiasts choice of car because of the control and driving fun which is impossible to execute on an Suv.
I still live in that time. I still think SUVs suck as far as driving pleasure goes. Also, the wannabe SUVs are the most horrid things to my eyes. But apparently the entire country seems to dig it.
I think of SUVs as baba Ram Raheem. Just because a billion people worship him doesn't make him cool. SUVs are still redundant for driving enthusiasts. Also, not very comfortable for the woman passenger that you wanna open the door for and cruise around with.

As a Honda owner I must say Honda has got the saddest line up of all the manufacturers! They discontinued the brio which wasn't half bad. The new amaze is the ugliest car I've seen in my life. It looks like it was already in an accident. And looks like some old premier pal car.
My jazz is really boring and now they're going to destroy their premium hatchback segment with the new clown car jazz they have planned. Wrv is a complete joke. Basically Honda has no compact SUV in India, shocking!
The new city is ok, nothing ground breaking. Bit boring. They have no mid SUV to compete with Creta. Civics has become 'History!'.
The CRV is boring compared to all the 20lac SUVs and is way over priced. Basically Honda is shooting themself in the foot.
The Toyota overconfidence has consumed them. They will go the way of Sony TV's and Phones. They lack the aggressive killer designs of the Koreans. Whenever they release the mid SUV HRV it will be too late. It already looks like a 2009 design.
In no time, Honda is going to be a Honda City only company. Like Ford and it's cash cow EcoSport.

I own one and I know no SUV and even German cars cannot match the value for money car this Civic is. Audi A3 selling for 40 lakhs, A4 for 50 lakhs and looks like dead stock in front of the new civic. I saw the cretas interiors and it make me feel like a 5 lakh car. Sad that the name SUVs have created a illusion

Honda's strategy in India is all over the place. Their product timing across all segments has also be flawed.
Inspite of having some great quality products, pricing vs features was never really their strength.
Now they have left with just one product, which is the City to drive their volumes. Sad!!

Honda will leave India soon. Honda cars are expensive but the quality is like Maruthi it's nowhere close to what it offers on abroad, NVH levels are also piss poor. It's not a leader in safety as well. There is no reason to choose Honda cars.

This is the most balanced review yet. He has put in such a crisp and clear manner that no one is even angry about the fact that the Civic is discontinued. But yes, the new car, even with its new-age design, could not compare much with the old car's driving excitement. I myself went to a Honda showroom with the old Civic to see whether I can get myself to buy the new car convincingly. Everything about the new car was fantastic till the time I pressed the accelerator pedal. I was a bit disappointed.

    2.No diesel automatic.
    3.No Petrol Manual.

    What civic missed -
    Petrol manual
Lacklustre and had dead Diesel engine
    Sunroof only in top variant
Should have luxury features at this price point like auto park , ventilated seats , 360 camera
    Not that plush interiors
Coupe slopping roof made the seating so low especially in the back seat where 6 feeters can’t sit

CVT IN a 22 lakh car
    Underpowered engine
    Pricing
The original civic was around 13 lakhs for the top end
And now pricing is 22-23 lakhs price shot up by 60-70 percent
I have owned a manual civic and drove it for 136000 kms 2011-2018 without any issues
But spending 23 lakhs on the same experience it’s worthless

Civic was a good car but that 1.8 SOHC engine was a poor choice. I don't mind the CVT as it was a very good gearbox, but the engine was anemic and 1.5 turbo in the segment would have made a better choice. So was diesel engine, and while they got the job done; they never felt in the league of 1.8 TSI from Skoda. SUV onslaught has been killing all the sedans slowly irrespective of the segment they fall in, despite them being nowhere as nice to drive as sedans; thanks to our roads that little extra ground clearance becomes a necessity.

I own a older gen civic that was launched in India and in my view the older car looked and drove better than the new one, the new one had the same R18 engine and no manual :-( the diesel was not to my liking as i dont prefer the NVH on diesel cars, i wish honda has given it better engine the chassis was nice it just needed an optional more powerful engine.
How i wish honda has put the 1.5 Turbo with the manual in there :-) that would have been perfect for me as an upgrade but the car honda launched was very lack lusture.

Is it a good choice ?
Are the airbags safe from that model & does it have ground clearance issue ?
Also i would love to upsize the stock 195/65 15 tyre to 215/60 15 tyre is it upgradable or not ?

Honestly it's really sad to see the D segment sedans dying just because everyone wants a crossover SUV, but partly also becauseof the prices and the taxes. Most of the crossovers don't offer more space than a sedan, don't handle as well and also don't have the same boot space. The only thing they are good at is letting people flex in the name of "commanding driving position" imo, and maybe better features. But either way, it still gives me some hope in the Indian car market because with the rise of automatics it has still shown that it would still prefer a manual over an auto in cars like the Civic (apparently).

Rather they will bring HRV instead, the segment which is hot at this moment along with newer version of WRV and brio
