    Thank you for the great idea. We have 2 huge porches that we need to add railing. This is what we are doing to do.

    Wonderful fencing! I plan on using heavy duty staples at the bottom rail dado to keep my hellion great grandkicks from pushing the panels out. 😄

    Great job, man! We have to build 2 railings and my brother suggested using hog panels. I'd never seen that done before, so he sent me a link to your video. I'm now sold on the idea! Well done, and thanks!

    Looks great, I am going to do the exact same job at my place. Thanks for the helpful video. BTW, did you cut that dado notch dead center of the 2X4?

    Did you cut the channels in the boards to fit the panel, or buy them that way?

      I cut them with a table saw and dado blade

    What's keeping the hog wire in the track when something heavy bumps up against it?

    • @SavinABuck45
      @SavinABuck45  3 місяці тому +1

      I installed a wood screw every few feet inside the track to hold the fence in place.

    Hope your still answering questions on this, did you have to cut your grooves off set? Or right down the middle? I hear the panels are welded off set.

    How did you notch the 2x4 so the hog wire fits in?

  • @jaycharles9548
    @jaycharles9548 2 роки тому +1

    Can you use just ONE board on top as a shelf with the notch ? Trying to minimize blocking of any view.

      Yes you can it will still work, good luck on your build and thanks for watching

    Great video! Did you put any adhesive or anything in the grove to add a stronger hold to the railing or do you think the groove holds it just fine?
    Plan on doing this around my deck.

    • @SavinABuck45
      @SavinABuck45  3 роки тому

      The groove is deep enough to hold but in the middle of the panels i added a few screws in the channels to hold the panels tight. Hope this helps thanks for watching

    Love this. What depth were you going with on the 2x4s with the table saw?

    • @SavinABuck45
      @SavinABuck45  3 роки тому

      1/2 inch wide and 3/4 inch deep , made a good fit for the panels.

      @@SavinABuck45 I’m about to start mine! Were your side pieces the same height as the panel? Or a little shorter?

    • @SavinABuck45
      @SavinABuck45  3 роки тому

      @@trevorreid924 they were 1 inch shorter than the panel that way you had a 1/2 inch for top and bottom both . Good luck with your build and thanks for watching

    Looks great but what about water stying in the bottom channel?

    • @SavinABuck45
      @SavinABuck45  3 роки тому +2

      On this particular porch there is a large over hang but on one with out you could drill some 1/2 inch holes in the bottem runner to help this. Hope this helps and Thanks for watching
