Don’t believe people when they say things won’t work out. Sometimes the things that are safe and may easily work out don’t end up working out anyway. You do what you think is right for you and never let anyone control your path.
Make kits, up sell your beats into “tiers” that give value at the middle price, use social media to minimize your expenses by growing an audience over time...

Not even a minute in, I had the video playing in the background and all of a sudden I hear “Money’s not a means to buy things but a means to buy time.” That is actually one of the greatest things I’ve ever heard, it’s so simple yet the analogy that you made between money and time actually made me smile because I’ve never thought about it. I’ve always heard that money is time, time is money but I’ve just never thought about it that way. You put into perspective for me. Thanks buddy, I totally agree. That’s why I would like to be stable so I can continue to produce and learn to be better each day as I practice and not have to worry about going to work or school and coming home with no urge to make music but to just go to sleep. I appreciate you for that, it really made me think. 🤯💡
Time is the worlds most VALUABLE asset. If you have to spend 40 hours a week to pay bills instead of working on your craft, then your not living your life. Investing in monetizing your craft enables you to lower the need of a “regular job” so you have more time which in turn makes you EVEN more money!

Hey Ed, I really liked this video! I started making music this year and have been loving it so much, both making beats and seeing what others use them for. Honestly, this video helped me so much. I've always shared the sentiment you have, about "normal" jobs being a waste of time, literally. You're selling your time to someone who's paying you so little and then you're so drained that you want to use your spare time to rest instead of working on your passions. I'm finally in a place where I can afford the items I need to start producing music, which is a passion I've had since I was young. I got a new laptop, software, and am about to get a midi controller. I am so new to it so it feels overwhelming, but your videos and others on here have been very helpful and inspiring. I have a lot of other skills that I've developed more, and though it seems like common sense, what you said about finding creative ways to monetize your skills hit home to me. As creative people we kind of already have a different life path than the average worker, in my opinion, and so we need to be ambassadors for our selves and find ways to mix our art into our work. So thanks so much because this really made me realize that I can do it, I just need to sit down and really figure out ways to make my goals happen and then pursue it.
super important topic Ed, thank you so much for sharing. Some additional advice would be to focus on earning enough in the short term to live with a healthy lifestyle but still have time and energy to develop your skill and craft, if you only work to try and make a lot of money straight away you won't have any time to get good at the things that you really need to, they won't earn you a lot instantly but will make you way more in the long term. Live frugally in the short term and stay within your means and your craft will gradually snowball with time. Delayed gratification, super powerful :) Kobi
