Most of the ladies in my family were hair dressers, so I'm not entirely hair-illiterate, but being 50+ now, I need help with newer looks and staying fresh. Your videos are FANTASTIC and have inspired me to try something more beachy. Your tips on product are helpful too, as my knowledge was mostly stuck in the mousse, gel or hairspray rut from the 80s--LOL!! Thanks so much.

I spray before running my fingers through and of course waiting at least about 10 minutes keeps my curls for days 😍😍

Really good tips! My hair is quite frizzy but a tight curl. I love the loose curl and always feel the need to straighten my hair the day before x will try what you said x your hair is beautiful!

RioStar I would recommend telling your stylist that you want some texture in your hair cut! Have you ever tried a texture spray?

What other products do you use besides your aquage dry shampoo and unite texturizing spray? Do you use other products in these lines, like what do you use for blonde shampoo, what do you recommend for conditioner, finishing sprays, volumizers Etc I have blonde fine hair probably a lot like yours. And also what is your hair color? Love it and love your videos!
kathy k great question! I love the unite U oil for my ends and I would recommend that product to anyone but I love anything and everything from Kevin Murphy or unite. It just depends on the type of hair you have and the needs for your hair. I love anything that adds hydration :)

What I love about this, is you don’t continually touch you curls while you’re still curling.
It’s frustrating watching tutorials where people play with the hair so much that there’s no curl in the end as they’ve pulled them all out before they cooled!

I love your videos, and I have learned a lot. You have beautiful hair color and base color. Could you please tell me what you do for low and highlights?. is your base color natural? I am a natural level 6/7 with some grays, and I'm trying to transition to just high and low lights without bumping the base. Any advice you could give to help hair look more blended would be greatly appreciated.

I love the 1 1/4 but for you I would probably recommend the 1” if your hair is having a hard time curling. You could also try a texture spray so the curl has something to hold on too! :)
I have a decent amnt of asian hair thats superrr long, but it’s pretty fine that only holds a curl if the iron is 1 inch! How do you make the curls look not as tight even with a smaller curling iron? Do you just let it fall or comb it out a little

Prep your hair with dry shampoo or texture spray and always over direct when curling.

Rose Fredericks hahah yeah, everyone has different views on what “short” is. To me, this is short especially since my hair used to be so long. My hair is shorter in the back and longer in the front. :)
How would this technique look with a half inch curling iron? I’m curious! I have hair a bit shorter than this and I’ve always wonder how the curl unwrap curl technique would look with an even smaller barrel. I typically use a 1in

Kennedy Bartels hey! I would recommend using some sort of dry shampoo or texture spray. That way your curls have something to hold on too. :) or you can use a smaller barrel

I have Asian super straight hair that is medium but thin hair. It’s just past my chin. I want this beachy wave look. I struggle with curling my hair and never had much success with it so I have always kept it straight, but I am learning! I love this technique. I tried it with an old curling iron but need a new one. What size do you recommend?
I recommend using a 1 and a quarter inch or a 1 inch curling iron! :)
I could really use some advice. I desperately want my hair to look like this but every time I run my fingers through my hair afterwards, I completely lose the curls. It’s like my hair just falls flat and all the curling I just did was worthless!!! I do let it cool first

Ive lived here 4 years now and I'm seriously amazed that it hasn't mattered if its dollar cuts or an expensive boutique, I haven't had one person cut my hair or color the way ive asked. I would pickup a palmade I usually use 2nd day from Unite. Put it on your fingertips to get them to lay down or smooth out.
Is your hair all one length at the back? I have really long hair, no layering, and would like to try the length you have and curl as you curl. I have thick, frizzy in humid weather, hair. Layers don't really work on me. I also need to be able to pull it up when in Florida at the pool. Thanks for your videos and a response to this would be greatly appreciated!

I’m assuming you just bought it? If so just return it/exchange it for the right size. If you can’t exchange it, the 1 1/4” will still work but a 1” is definitely easier.

Leighann McGowan Don’t ask her questions. I am no longer allowed to follow her on Instagram because I asked her questions and she would never answer and she got tired of me asking. She said to ask her questions and I did, but never got answers. There’s other hair stylists on You Tube that are very helpful.
