They made a deal, they won't tell anybody that (the plaintiff) wasn't his biological daughter. Then his wife got mad at him and she told everybody (including) the plaintiff, Just to hurt him. But, she really hurt her daughter. A lot of times family come to court for one reason and they start talking about something completely different. 😢 This reminds me of the case where the young man was suing his mother. His wife and all of her facial expressions at the end are very telling smh. I hope his daughter finds healing….that was hard to hear and watch. You can see the sadness in her eyes

@@mrsberryblessedI agree. He seen she was wasting the money so he moved it to his account. I wish I had a parent that done this for me. I blew through soooooo much money. I do have a financial advisor now but a big chuck is gone and I have nothing to show for it.
I agree with you. I am the father of 4 boys (34, 26, 24, 19) and 1 daughter (my youngest who is 12). I would never do this. If I was giving them money and they had a savings account I had access to I would never touch it. If I needed an emergency loan or something I would ask them. My oldest was living with me us even though he had a job. Partly because it was right before the pandemic but he is still with us. I have no problem with that and he pays a small amount and everything is covered except car payment and his CC. Food, water, electricity, phone, internet, insurance is covered. So he had a nice amount saved (10K). Wanted to buy a side of beef because it was cheaper but it was 1500 and I didn't have it at the time but I would in a few weeks. So I asked him and told him he would get it back. And I gave it back. Never have we said his money is our money because he is getting such a cheap deal living here. My other son has "borrowed" money a lot but doesn't live here. One time he wanted 1k and I said OK but things are tight right now I will need you to make payments of 100/month. He did 4 payments and stopped. I wrote it off. The other son asked for 200 till his check cleared so he would pay off a bill before he came to see me. Said he would give it back once he got his student money. I gave him 500 since he hasn't ever asked for money since he moved out to go to college. He said he would pay me back when he got his student loan in 1 month. Never happened and I never mentioned it. When my daughter gets older the same will be for her if I am able. To be honest I am 58 and will be 64 when she graduates so close to social security age :) So far no grandkids.

As a parent, we paid for many things while our son was growing up and we would never have expected him to repay a single penny! He is now almost 44 with a wife and children and would help them whenever he could ! We help our children if and when we can and don’t do it for the expectation of repayment. We do it because we love them!
The judge was too biased here. Pushing the narrative that he’s a good father when we don’t know him. He kept on demanding that it’s “his money” when it’s not. It’s a government grant she got for going to school. It was in savings for two years before any issue came up and he took it without telling her. Just because you raised her and spent money on her along the way, doesn’t give you the right to 4 thousand dollars in grant money.
@simonc1039 Don't be so gullible. He had no evidence of an agreement to do so and did you even hear the statements made thereafter? He had no love left and even stated her father was a drug dealer for the whole world to hear. The judge was biased and pushed a HEAVY narrative.
@@Lovejones80inc No he did not 😭 he gave her money occasionally, but never a full 4 grand to make up for the grant he took. Go back and watch what he says.

The judge asked about the family dynamics. He had all right to speak up. But I guess the mother isn’t horrible for cheating, thereby creating dirty laundry, right?

Judge Milian, your message here at the end so so beautiful and timely. My first born enlisted in the army and she left the nest this morning to start on that journey. It’s so hard to let go but we have to let the tree grow. 😢
What a spiteful defendant; there was no need to air all of that dirty laundry in public. He claims the mother told the plaintiff that he wasn't her bio dad to hurt him, but what does he think he did to his daughter...and on TV?!? A rational person might realize that his daughter would eventually be grateful that he didn't turn his back on her and raised her as his own. What a small man he is...
He had absolutely no business disclosing he wasn't her father. In the eyes of the law, he was married to her mother at the time of her birth, he's legally her father.
@jenn_x, This wouldn't be an issue if his wife kept her legs closed to other men, while she was married to him. The plaintiff's vindictive mother is to blame for all of this foolishness. You just want him to keep the secret that his ex-wife was running the streets and having children with other men. You want him to continue protecting his horrible ex-wife 🥴🤦
@@magicworld3242 Wow projecting much? His daughter is not to blame for what the mother did. Hes punishing her for it which is the very definition of vindictive. Cheating is disgusting. It doesnt mean his behavior isnt also disgusting.

The best quote I heard from a parent was : "We raise our kids to not need us when they are an adult and that's the best we can hope for". As a kid you need to know when to be a grown up and as a parent you need to know when to let go.
The judge kept putting words in the father's mouth! He didn't take that money because he knew it was his daughter's but didn't want her to waste it on a holiday, he truly felt that it was his and owed to him for all the hand-outs he had given her over the years. He stole that money out of the account and had no intention of ever giving it back, he alone has ruined his relationship with his daughter...
The father wasn’t happy about having to return the money, but technically what he did was actually illegal. He stole government funds that were given to her, and her alone. He’d do best to just return the money, and leave well enough alone.
The judge didn’t get the fact the father stole the money 2 years before! He took the money then tried to say “ he was paying himself back!” He was a pos clearly!!! Bringing up bs during this case! The judge needs to mind her business and actually hear the case out!!!
Don't understand why she would give the money to the father in the first place if he was such a horrible father? Why not have her mother open the account? I suspect the daughter wasn't the angel she was pretending to be
I respect Judge M so much, but I think she didn't really get why the father took the money...he felt that he'd paid towards her college and that the money in the joint account was his because he'd contributed so much more. He also wanted control I'm sure. The father spilling all the family secrets in such a public forum was despicable & hateful. He was angry and vindictive and really immature. This was really sad, I wonder if that relationship was even worth salvaging. I wish the very best of luck to the plaintiff, she seems like such a mature & sweet young woman.
Even if he contributed to her college education, which if she's receiving grants it's likely he's not because grants are typically for students who don't receive any family contribution, those grants are in her name and awarded to her not him. It seems his thought process was that he footed the bill for her in life so now he was going to get some of that money back from her, basically making your child repay you for raising them. It wasn't right of him to take it, I would never do that to my son whose in college, and for him to say it was his money is despicable, and the way he just verbally vomited her origin story was disgusting.
HE DOES SEEM LIKE HE IS BEING SPITEFUL! LIKE WTF THATS YOUR DAUGHTER WHY ARE U SAYING THESE THINGS IN FRONT OF EVERYONE! BUT I FEEL JM WAS SO WRONG FOR NOT CORRECTING HIM, YOU COULD SEE THE HURT IN THAT GIRLS FACE!
He took the money because he's a typical "stepdad" that thinks he should be paid back for raising kids that aren't his blood. It was never his money period. The fact that JM was trying to spin this into some "oh he loves you" kind of thing was wild. He is not someone she needs in her life, especially with what he said about the mother.
The dad really believed that was his money as a compensation if you will for having to raise a child that was not biologically his. He's just giving lip service to the bit about not knowing if she would be responsible with the money and the boyfriend blah blah blah. If you pay attention you will hear what people's true motivations are and he made it clear in the first 30 seconds that this was HIS money.
Just because you may not agree with the choices your children make doesn't mean you have right to money that was given to them. He was trying to hurt her when he reminded her that she isn't his and that her "real dad" is a drug dealer. Smh he didn't have to say that.
I'm so glad that she won her case! Karma Is nothing nice the father should be ashamed of himself for saying those awful! things and especially him hitting his children 😢 she's a beautiful young lady god bless.
She kept pushing the « you’re a good dad caring for his daughter safety » narrative. I have real doubts about how good of a father he is after hearing all the words that came out of his house.
Those girls are beautiful, and they clearly held back on the dirt. I hope they move upwards in life and will be okay with what he was and wasn't to them.
When I was 19, younger than the plaintiff, I had control of a lot more money and assets than $4k and it didn’t go so well so I can understand why this case happened, but if the defendant raise the plaintiff right he should trust her with her own money.
RIGHT! LIKE WHAT DOES HE WANT THE MONEY FOR? ITS YOUR DAUGHTER YOUR SUPPOSED TO PROVIDE AND I SO DIDNT SEE THE POINT OF SAYING HE WASNT THE BIOLOGICAL DAD . HE COMING OFF SPITEFUL
Same here! Spent it until I was broke then never made that mistake again. He needs to let her learn from her choices, not try to control the choices she’s able to make..
This is what happens when you don't have a close relationship with you child that involves everything. A true father is fair and honest and loves his child unconditionally and that child does the same. Thankful that my daughter even in her 30's calls me when she has a problem. Although her and her mom as close as thick as thieves.
Just pointing out that he didnt have to say all that bad stuff about the mother? How messy was he seems mean. He didnt seem as good as he tried to portray himself as.😅
JM really felt like this was a dad trying to protect his daughter from splurging on vacation with her boyfriend. That was not the case at all, this man just wanted the money for himself.
I'm so piss for that father to bring up the fact that he's not her biological father and looking at her you can definitely tell she did not want that brought up shame on him a that funky hairdo.
Defendant is not a real man, because a real man a) would not steal money from their daughter, and b) would not disown their daughter as their biological child with no paternity test. Shame on the defendant.
Did you miss the part entirely where those were checks from federal govt in her name? All he did was deposit them for her, pretending to help her out and then steal them once he saw she was not touching it
@timages The dad kept bringing up her boyfriend.. Which clearly proves my point, plus I bet one of the reasons she moved back with her mother. Mr Brainless.
Judge keeps saying she knows defendant didn't really want to keep the money but just wanted best for plantiff. He keeps saying it's his money. It's not his money, he's not looking out for her best.
My mouth dropped open when he said he wasn't her real dad and it cut to break. I was like no he didn't do that to her on national TV. Then it came back she knew already but somehow it still seems very wrong that he brought that up. Plus all the moms business. He was wrong for that.
Years ago my biological dad asked me for several thousand dollars. Apparently he had been told he needed a heart transplant. I knew he would leave his ex wife and her son everything he had and told him I would “loan” him the money. All of the sudden he didn’t need it anymore, about a year later he passed away and left everything he had to a woman that left him for another man and her son. Nothing for his biological kids, he knew he would never pay me back. Some parents are just like that.
I think JM got it wrong when she said she felt this wasn’t a broken family, by the daughter’s comments at the end of what she said about her father, she never had a good relationship with him.
It seems to me he didn't want her to just waste the money on some stupid boyfriend and use it for something more practical like a new car or law school.

Him bringing up family dynamics was spiteful. His interview with Doug tells everything about his lack of character.
This is hard to watch at the end.. not sure why the father revealed so much personal info at the end. Seem like he wanted to hurt her but I bet he is her father. Hope she finds peace and forgive him for everything and don’t let it affect her future! 🙏🏾
It was completely unnecessary, especially revealing the Mother’s substance abuse when it had nothing to do with the case
The defendant is angry with his ex-wife and he's taking it out on his daughter. His wife kept cheating on him. They had two daughters. He started talking about stuff that was going on in her house, when he was growing up. His mother quickly jumped in and started saying all kinds of horrible things about her son 😢
His wife and all of her facial expressions at the end are very telling smh. I hope his daughter finds healing….that was hard to hear and watch. You can see the sadness in her eyes
I was looking for this comment she literally shook her head no when he said “i hope you work it out with them” she got what she wanted
Well then, the judge couldn't be more wrong about this family not being broken. It's been broken for years. And the father was actually claiming the school money as his own like it was owed to him. Not cause of whatever the judge was tryna say. Wow,jm read this case all so wrong besides the verdict. Dude literally kept saying "it's my money" like 3 or more times
I believe he was keeping so that she wouldn't use it on the boyfriend and only lied to say that it was his for a defense. I believe him when he said the sister told him about the vacation so she obviously saw an issue with it too.
@@mrsberryblessedthat doesn’t make sense cause daughter said she didn’t touch the $ for two years in that account although she could’ve. Her and the sister both said he took the money two years ago and her vacation is current. When u add that all up it clearly has nothing to do with her “bad spending”
@@amandabrown6565 You guys are assuming he has the best intentions when he CLEARLY DOES NOT. Why would he say “it’s my money” repeatedly if he was just “trying to help her”???
The judge almost choked on her tea when she heard her stepfather break the news
That "father" is toxic AF. I was so annoyed to hear the judge try to defend his position and tell the daughter to play nice, and that was before it all came out in the exit interview. I wish these women the best and hopefully they've moved on from harmful familial relationships.
I agree 100 percent
He already gave her the money
@simonc1039 Don't be so gullible. He had no evidence of an agreement to do so and did you even hear the statements made thereafter? He had no love left and even stated her father was a drug dealer for the whole world to hear. The judge was biased and pushed a HEAVY narrative.
@@Lovejones80inc No he did not 😭 he gave her money occasionally, but never a full 4 grand to make up for the grant he took. Go back and watch what he says.

Judge Milian, your message here at the end so so beautiful and timely. My first born enlisted in the army and she left the nest this morning to start on that journey. It’s so hard to let go but we have to let the tree grow. 😢
& how crazy is it that it uses the analogy of a tree? One of my favorite chapter in the Bible is John 15, which references the tree and the vine.
this was not about letting the child grow. he wanted to manipulate her by controlling her money.
Oh my god 🙄🙄🙄🙄
What a spiteful defendant; there was no need to air all of that dirty laundry in public. He claims the mother told the plaintiff that he wasn't her bio dad to hurt him, but what does he think he did to his daughter...and on TV?!? A rational person might realize that his daughter would eventually be grateful that he didn't turn his back on her and raised her as his own. What a small man he is...
He's just an open book. The judge is probing

7:52 he was dead wrong for bringing up that he wasn’t her biological father. This had nothing to do with the case
The best quote I heard from a parent was : "We raise our kids to not need us when they are an adult and that's the best we can hope for". As a kid you need to know when to be a grown up and as a parent you need to know when to let go.
The dude in the beginning of " People's Court " has the best voice in the business. This is the main reason I watch this show !
Doug Llewellyn is the best
The judge kept putting words in the father's mouth! He didn't take that money because he knew it was his daughter's but didn't want her to waste it on a holiday, he truly felt that it was his and owed to him for all the hand-outs he had given her over the years. He stole that money out of the account and had no intention of ever giving it back, he alone has ruined his relationship with his daughter...
I was so sad when he said the mom told her to hurt him..

Judge gave dad too much credit, he had no right to that money.
So let her WASTE the money and let her come crawling back.
They're not your phones. They're gifts you've given to your children. Hope you don't expect your children to visit when they're adults.
What Father would try to shame their daughter on national tv...I'm praying
HE DOES SEEM LIKE HE IS BEING SPITEFUL! LIKE WTF THATS YOUR DAUGHTER WHY ARE U SAYING THESE THINGS IN FRONT OF EVERYONE! BUT I FEEL JM WAS SO WRONG FOR NOT CORRECTING HIM, YOU COULD SEE THE HURT IN THAT GIRLS FACE!
“I told the mother don’t tell her that!!!!” So why tell now. I agree he was very vindictive! All of that was unnecessary.
Dad is just airing out all the dirty laundry.
This episode should've been called...How Low can you go!! This is no father! 😢
She said that money wasn’t touched by her for two years though so she was actually saving it instead of spending which is even crazier
That is a despicable, shameful disgraceful father.
This is what happens when you don't have a close relationship with you child that involves everything.
