Coming from an American, Sandra 100% definitely deserved the gold. Her landings were beautiful, the dance and artistry was beautiful. This was absolutely a gold medal winning performance. Sandra did wonderfully this day. I think the medals were rightfully given. Shawn and Nastia getting silver and bronze was the correct choice in my opinion.

I think what he meant is that Shawn's tumbling passes were more difficult, and they are. Sandra's routine had a higher difficulty only because of the connection bonuses she got in two of her passes. In the 2009-2012 and the 2013-2016 CoP, Shawn's D score is about 6.3 or 6.4, while Izbasa is down to around 5.7 or 5.9 depending which pass she keeps (girls can only count 4 acro, in 2008 it was 5).

Izbasa is the US Golden-taker hahaha. In 2008 they were expecting Shawn to get FX Gold, while Sandra did it. In 2012, after an unexpected fall Sandra once again snatched USA's gold medal. I love her with her grace and beauty, oh and incredible smile.

I’m American and I can’t stand these clowns either sometimes. I personally prefer the BBC Olympic commentary because I believe they are more balanced and fair in their analysis of every gymnast. The BBC commentators even said that after the all around they hoped floor would fair well for shawn for gold, but one of them said she had a “chance” of winning but “only a chance” not a guarantee. She then went on to say that others she said could take it would be Cheng Fei or Sandra and then she said “I believe Sandra Izbasa MIGHT snatch this one”. She was right. I personally wanted Shawn to win floor, but Sandra deserved this one. She was amazing.

Remember that, by the end of those games she was absolutely exhausted. She didn’t even remember doing that gold medal beam routine, it was essentially muscle memory. Unless you’ve been in a situation like that, with all that intensity and pressure you’re in no position to judge like that.

I think Sandra's execution was underscored here even though it didn't affect her well derserved gold medal position, she stuck 4 out of 5 of her landings while Nastia stuck only 2. If Nastia had a 9.225 execution, I think Sandra's should be higher
She also tucked what was supposed to be a layout full- which was deducted and downgraded. It ultimately didn’t affect her score much as she stuck her other landings… but the execution score was definitely accurate.

2008 definitely had the best FX routines and music🎶 : Sandra izbasa, Anna Pavlova, Jang Yiling, Shawn Johnson, Yekaterina Kramarenko, Ksenia afanasyeva & semenova, Cheng Fei, Nastia Luikin and many more!! brought good floor exercise routines to those Olympics and I actually thought they were the best Olympics in history
I love Sandra Isbasa’s routine and I love this song. I just wish to god this wasn’t in the middle of the five tumbling pass rule. I would have loved to see what she could have done with the choreography.

Great routines but the elegance is really out the window by 08. This was the beginning of the robot gymnastics era, because of that new scoring system.
There is still elegance and dance, it’s an individual and interpretive thing. If you are perpetually stuck in the 1980’s and 1990’s, go watch that and leave these wonderful athletes alone!

I think Sandra's execution was underscored here even though it didn't affect her well derserved gold medal position, she stuck 4 out of 5 of her landings while Nastia stuck only 2. If Nastia had a 9.225 execution, I think Sandra's should be higher
She also tucked what was supposed to be a layout full- which was deducted and downgraded. It ultimately didn’t affect her score much as she stuck her other landings… but the execution score was definitely accurate.

2008 definitely had the best FX routines and music🎶 : Sandra izbasa, Anna Pavlova, Jang Yiling, Shawn Johnson, Yekaterina Kramarenko, Ksenia afanasyeva & semenova, Cheng Fei, Nastia Luikin and many more!! brought good floor exercise routines to those Olympics and I actually thought they were the best Olympics in history

Infelizmente o sistema escolhido não privilegia ginastas artísticas, mas privilegia ginastas com grandes acrobacias (onde os EUA sempre iram ganhar por possuírem centros de treinamentos bem mais avançados). È injusto! Mas para todos os amantes da verdadeira ginastica, a verdadeira campeã do solo foi a Ponor. Como a verdadeira campeão do AA foi a Komova.

Great routines but the elegance is really out the window by 08. This was the beginning of the robot gymnastics era, because of that new scoring system.
There is still elegance and dance, it’s an individual and interpretive thing. If you are perpetually stuck in the 1980’s and 1990’s, go watch that and leave these wonderful athletes alone!
