Hi Kenji you're so so so inspiring. I love you sm for taking this initiative and comforting us in million little ways. I'm 25 and I want to pursue medicine now, after having a wholesome battle with myself I finally decided to apply for one. And here's your video that popped out of nowhere maybe it's a sign from the Universe. I'll be delighted if you would care to reply:)
Hello! Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your story with me. It's always inspiring to hear from people who are pursuing their passions, especially in the field of medicine. I wish you all the best as you embark on this journey, and I hope that my videos and content can continue to be a source of inspiration and support for you. Keep pushing forward and never give up on your dreams!
this is brilliant! I go into my final year of biomedical science, which I love! but I feel like something is definitely missing, I love people and the clinical aspect of things is something I just want more of!!
Thank you!! I think it's definitely important to think what aspects of the career suit your personality best. I hope this helps you decide on what to do next!
@@DoctorKenji Thankyou so much! I too, got rejected first time around for medicine and honestly your video about your experience really pushed me to not see my setback as a limiting factor but an opportunity to grow! You're an inspiration and I aspire to help people as much as you already do! Stay well and thankyou!!
Hii I am a biomed student but I am very disappointed by the work perspective in Latin America (where I live). I really don't want to leave my homeland and family. I am excited about the idea of still being able to be a biomedical scientist!!
I don't really know what to do with my life I just graduated from STPM(equivalent to A-level) and by this certificate,we get to apply to 12 courses offered by government university (which cost you like only few thousands MYR for one semester) But ended up I didn't get the offer to get into medical school, and I acknowledged that my family wouldn't be able to support my dream That's is why I'm here to watch this video,I was thinking of biomedical science as an ALTERNATIVE of medical school, but I realized that it shouldn't be in that way,and man I'll just be wasting my 4 years time studying biomedical science and ended up not getting what I want....so sometimes I'm really admire or even jealous towards people who was sharing their stories on how they further study medicine after biomed,I mean you get to choose, which unfortunately I'm not in that case
Wish I too get an opportunity like this😢 I'm doing biomed science But I alwayz wanted to become a doctor due to circumstances I cant study med so Im doing biomed!
don't worry, you will become a doctor one day depending on your country of course. If you walk path as a scientist and research and then walk path as a doctor I think you be amazing physician in the future.
I studied biomedical sciences in the late nineties. I trained as a nurse afterwards. I have had a good career (became a lecturer and medical ethics doctorate). Remember that there are other HC professions you can look into too. I confess I have lived with some regret at not having taken the plunge to pursue medicine. It is much better resourced and has a better career structure than nursing.
I left biomedical science too but for accounting and finance. I am in Year 13 and had offers from Queen Mary, kings, ucl, imperial and st George for biomed but then realised I made a mistake and don’t wanna work in a lab for the rest of my life so I requested course change to accounting and finance for Queen Mary and kings. But I am going to do ucat in summer this year and if I do well then I will apply for medicine in October this year and take a gap year.
I'm doing my last year of Biomedical science and I really wanted to pursue my career into medicine but little hopeless and don't know which way to go as its really competitive. I think I really need some motivations..
Been watchin your videos recently, hope you can advice me or anybody, will greatly appreciate it. I'm a 30y.o. Band5 Nurse here in Cambridge and I'm getting bothered about really doing further study. Some background, I'm a Filipino and my late father was a celebrated General Surgeon back in the Phils. I'm still single but somehow feel like I'm too old to pursue Medicine, that's why I'm kind of hooked with Biomedical Science. On the other hand I feel like if I'm goin to do the hardwork better just do Medicine and be a Doctor. With my status right now (Alone, paying rent, Employer contract 37.5hrs of Nursing/week) it seems Biomedical Science is a more Practical option for me. Do you know any programs (as an international graduate) that I can look up to see what options I have? Obviously my limiting factor is Financial and my employee status. Is there any path like I can earn working as a Biomedical Science student and at the same time complete my course. Anyone please.
I wanted to do Medicine but I didn’t have the grades at the time. Now I’ve chosen BioMed and will apply to medicine graduate entry in the future however I’m daunted by the fact that it will be (7x9250) altogether. I feel my student debt will be too much. So I’m at crossroads and just wanted some advice.
You pay it off very slowly and how much they take from your account monthly is very minimal. After 30 years the remaining fee gets written off so if you earn an NHS doctors salary the majority of it will be written off! It seems like a good deal personally
Great video! Do you think pharmacy offers the same job security as medicine? Like being able to work anywhere and having a job straight after you graduate?
That's a good question! I would definitely say that it offers a lot of security as it's another essential career that every society needs. Maybe not as much as medicine as I imagine jobs might be slightly more competitive to get and apply for, but as a whole yes I would say so
I have been told by my teachers that if I do betc double applied sceince level 3 I can still enter biomedical. Is that true. I even did some research on it and some of the universities in UK do offer biomedical for betc students.
Hey, just wondering if you’d recommend doing a placement year (doing Biomedical Science) if I’m contemplating doing a Physician Associate masters but unsure or just not waste the extra year? :/
If you're sure about going into PA then I wouldn't recommend doing one. Placement years are more for people who want to go into science or work in the biomed industry in my opinion.
@@DoctorKenji do you know if you have to do the full medicine degree if you have a biomed degree (IBMS portfolio HCPC) and have worked in a band 5 position?
So Wonderful.....I am a biomedical student in Brazil, my goal is to get admission at a medical school

What was the route you take to get into Medical school after your biomed degree.

Hey is there a possibility that we can do medicine after completing a biomed degree can you do a video about it.
Is there any scholarship programmes for Medicine who have completed first degree in Bio Medical Science?
You left for medicine but how do you deal with student debt as I want to the similar thing in the future

What would you would have rather done instead of BioMed at undergraduate
There's nothing else I would have rather done, that was the best option for me personally other than medicine
I have a question: Is there a possible chance to transfer when doing biomedicine, i am at the moment doing biomed first year and want to change

Sorry I'm not sure, you'll have to check with the university websites!
Out of Pharmacy or biomedicine , what’s better out of the two
Neither is better than the other, it's down to what you prefer and what you want to do in the future
Hi kenji what software do you use for editing your videos?
Final cut Pro! I've got a whole video on making my videos if you're interested
Sometimes it’s so difficult to find a job as biomedical scientist that will offer HCPC registration😭
Btw love your videos ✨✨
Thank you so much!
honestly, biggest problem with the NHS. Reason why I leaving them I am lucky enough to have more paths than BMS.

Good luck in what you’re doing!
Sorry for the barrage of questions I’m just going through a tense time
No worry!
Do you regret doing BioMed as a undergraduate course or do you think where you did the course affected your feelings
Absolutely not, Biomed was an amazing experience and I learned so much that puts me in a great positive now as a medic
Can you apply for med school with a biomed degree?
not a med student but i think you can transfer during first year after biomed. maybe different for your country
Yes definitely that is what I did!
@@DoctorKenji do you know if you have to do the full medicine degree if you have a biomed degree (IBMS portfolio HCPC) and have worked in a band 5 position?
Can I get an offer to study medicine from pharmacy.
Definitely
