The LED Edison bulbs look terrific in your new fixture. Lots of light for minimal power consumption. Wishing you and your family a blessed week. Peace brother
It never fails. When you make a bunch of plans, the wheel runs off. Usually I get the most done when I don't plan much. That was an outstanding deal on the corn and hopefully you'll be able to get corn from that farmer in the future. Give the pigs a little more time and they will probably warm up to more.
Great deal on the corn. We had rot issues on our patio posts. We replaced them and put a footer on them that raises them off the ground to keep them from rotting.😊
Your little profit's got the sweetest voice!! 💕 That corn deal was great!! You can always get bulbs with less wattage, & it's in the perfect place for over your table! Y'all really are making your home so special!! God bless y'all! 👍💕🙏
The boar you want to keep for breeding you should let him go to market. Next year get your boar as young of an age as you can and start training. Hopefully you will have him for years and will reward yourself anytime you have to deal with him. The last thing you want is a boar with a mean streak, or skittish. Inseminate Sue this year perhaps by a Vet. Why start out with a skittish boar that could give you troubled piglets or not a good mate for Sue? A friendly pig pen is the best for the owner and anyone that may want to buy your piglets. Just my thoughts. I believe your right about the 6 weeks vs 8 week old piglets. That time makes all the difference. Best wishes to you and your family. I enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing, Deb
You can buy a pedestal to go under those porch columns. Rain will still get splatter on them but the pedestal allows the bottom to drain and column to dry quickly.
I’ve changed a bunch of porch/patio posts using an old 4x4 and a $15 Harbor Freight hydraulic jack. Best way to secure the post to an existing slab is with a Simpson post base. You need a rotohammer and 1/2” bit. Then secure the base with a 3/8” Redhead anchor. Set the new post in place, release the jack and nail everything off.
My ex wife an I went through the very same issue, very laborious effort to find the perfect light fixture, even more work to acquire the perfect bulbs, only to have her crestfallen over the brightness of the the assembled effort. No worries, an $10 rotary dimmer made it all perfect and adjustable. Who knows, ir may work for you too. Great work Wes.
I just want to say I really enjoy your video's because it reminds me so much of my childhood raised in the country with all the farm animals. Thanks for the video's.
Good video and job that's the way to buy corn watch out for the little guy that is not a good hiding place if somebody comes out bro move the tractor he could get hurt. Take care, be safe and well.
On the porch posts, many times I have used a 3-4 inch shorter 2x6 on a small hydraulic car jack to raise a roof a little for leveling. I always had a backup of the right size under, just in case it shipped. Mine never have; yet. You got the job done. They do make an aluminum plate with small feet that keep the post just an inch or so above the concrete. Last ones I bought were pretty cheap and better than replacing posts again. You can still anchor the posts in the center. Now, the guys that helped again righting the corn and re-securing. That's the kind of people I prefer to know and do business with. That's how I grew up and now miss that kind of people most days. They're out there, just not as many as my younger days.
Hey Mr. Green Jeans .. Grandpa always said, "Measure twice and cut once !!" And that sack says "For Peanuts Only !!" But if it is corn for the piggies, that's ok !!
You could make a video on just about anything and we would all watch it! I just enjoy watching you living the homestead dream….as a city kid, I’m jealous. 😀🤘🏻
I do the same thing over here in south Alabama I buy three of them big bags a year from a friend that farms corn and feed cows and deer and my mule it last about 4 months God Bless y’all and I like to watch y’all getting it done 😂
I figured that your tractor would not lift that bag when I saw it being loaded... Not only a good deal but you have a new .source for more grain. I would use wood post anchors to secure the posts to the porch.
Naw, West, don't worry about your delivery. Any video you produce is gonna be interesting. Just ask your other 356,000 viewers. They'll tell ya the same thing. We all click thumbs up soon as we see it's you!
I like the light fixture but maybe the problem is where it was made? I have bought some lighting and have had trouble with some of the ones made in China. Seems like poor quality control I guess? Thanks for sharing, DC🍀
Good buy on the corn and you know the source. On the post, you can wrap it with 1"x 6" board up to about a foot, with a 45 degree at the top and paint the post to last much longer.
I worked with sacks just like that as soon as I saw it on the trailer I said to my self I hope he settles that corn in that sack. I wish I had a dollar for every sack I've had to straighten up after a fall😂
They make plastic covers/sleeves for post so they do not rot in the ground which you could have placed on the new post!!!! Every Task turns into a Project just ask Murphy he is there to verify this Law over and over!!!
If a pig has more old stock in it then they seem to remain a little “wild” until they get older. The more commercial breeds “the pinks” are way more docile.
I believe those "Big Bags" are known as "Gaylords." Plastic beads used for injection molding, seed, cement, and the like, are also shipped in them, when the amount shipped doesn't justify the use of a bulk trailer or rail car. When some hear "Gaylord" they think of the tail wagging doggy pull toy.
shouldnt you protect the bottom of the posts from water? a 2 liter pop bottle cut in half, put over the ground end and the use a heat gun to shrink the Bottle to the wood, maybe?
Neither you, nor they, can read plain English!!! Obvious abuse of a 'nut sack'!!! 🤣 J/K! Great deal! You're playing the game right, it seems...do what you can when you can to advance your position. Way to go! Remind your little 'Thought Process Machine' that that's a wheel, not a tire! 🤣 All the very best to you all!
I hate to be "that guy", and it is too late for this project but, you really shouldn't cut that pressure treated lumber without a mask. The saw dust is not good for your body.

You always deliver!, still better than anything on TV! Thanks for sharing!
AMEN, w.a.y.y.y. better than what's on TV !!
Great deal on the corn.

That really is a SCREAMIN DEAL on that corn! Good on ya for snagging it
And, just like that, your cost per pig just plummeted. Awesome!!!

Glad U didn't loose any corn 😊
Me too!
Congrats on the fantastic deal for the corn! Well done.
I just want to say I really enjoy your video's because it reminds me so much of my childhood raised in the country with all the farm animals. Thanks for the video's.
Thank you! Love these kind of comments.
Good video and job that's the way to buy corn watch out for the little guy that is not a good hiding place if somebody comes out bro move the tractor he could get hurt. Take care, be safe and well.
that is a fantastic deal on corn. glad it wasnt all over the road and in the ditch!
Same here!
Great deal on the 🌽! Thanks for sharing! 👌👍

What a deal! Good for you, Wes.
I think I would at later date go head put in a French drain to take the rain water away from the porch love the new house light. Great job
Yep! I've had that same thought. One day maybe.
Hey Mr. Green Jeans .. Grandpa always said, "Measure twice and cut once !!" And that sack says "For Peanuts Only !!" But if it is corn for the piggies, that's ok !!
Excellent deal on corn.
should put metal brackets under those post to keep water from wicking up the bottom
You could make a video on just about anything and we would all watch it! I just enjoy watching you living the homestead dream….as a city kid, I’m jealous. 😀🤘🏻
Time is money and saving money just saved you time somehow. I’m coming back for brackets.
I do the same thing over here in south Alabama I buy three of them big bags a year from a friend that farms corn and feed cows and deer and my mule it last about 4 months God Bless y’all and I like to watch y’all getting it done 😂
Thats as good as the deal of a grain bin full of corn i commented last video or so! Nice!
Love what yall doing with the house

Awesome video Wess. Those darn breaks will get you every time.
Or that post some claim they never saw. 👍👍👍
If you get frosted bulbs that are just a wee bit lower in power, it'll be perfect light without the brightness...Hope this helps...
Good job from California 😊
A bad day spent with Fall Line Ridge is better than a good day at work. 😂❤⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Using the clamp as a Jack was a smooth move 👍🏽
Works lie a champ!
Hi Wes. I did it the easy way for me. $300 / 2800 lbs. = 0.107 cents per pound. I don't think I can buy corn for me at that price. Have good days!
You could almost say you gave peanuts for that bag of corn. 😂
hello fall line ridge it's is randy and i like yours video is cool thanks friends randy
Get you a dimmer, you can set the mood, or have total brightness, you can get one for about $8, that`s a lot of corn my friend.
Well done 👍👍👍. Thank you for sharing. Be safe 🇨🇦
Can't wait to see your remodeling done.
You have to take advantage of deals when they are offered. They don't last forever is the price is right.
you ought to put a piece of 3 tab roofing between concrete porch & post ,so post wont rot!!! Keeps condensation from wicking up into post.
Wes, while growing out your pigs, a positive to put in they're area is some charred wood . Provides minerals they need
I like the light fixture but maybe the problem is where it was made? I have bought some lighting and have had trouble with some of the ones made in China. Seems like poor quality control I guess?

DC🍀
Love these video's!
Thanks!

положи гидроизоляцию под столбики. Прослужат дольше. Place waterproofing under the posts. They will last longer.
A harbor freight lift installed thoughtfully might be able to lift fitter bags.
If you said the video was about mowing the lawn and I ended up watching you brush your teeth it wouldn’t matter👍😁
I worked with sacks just like that as soon as I saw it on the trailer I said to my self I hope he settles that corn in that sack. I wish I had a dollar for every sack I've had to straighten up after a fall😂
Ha! Guess it's a common occurrence.
I'm surprised you didn't take that shed down and rebuild.
Really no point. I like the rustic look, and the joists and header are still solid. Tin will probably need replacing at some point though.
Yes buys out of field would be cheaper for you. Now that you have contact should be repeatable purchases
Looks like you need some can jacks to lift the porch roof.
MM77 Approved 👍🏼👍🏼
Yes. you didn't accomplish all you wanted to do, but I enjoyed seeing what actually happens.
They make plastic covers/sleeves for post so they do not rot in the ground which you could have placed on the new post!!!! Every Task turns into a Project just ask Murphy he is there to verify this Law over and over!!!
I think you might need a slick for that.
You need to take care of the roof or water that comes down.
If a pig has more old stock in it then they seem to remain a little “wild” until they get older. The more commercial breeds “the pinks” are way more docile.
Throw those posts on the mill and see what goodies may be hiding.
👍❤
Man I hope those 6x don’t twist on you. If they do there’s not a thing you can do about it. Maybe you got lucky and got some heart free posts.
💖💖🎶🎶
OH NO!!! THE BAG SAYS PEANUTS ONLY!!!😂
Expecting a visit by the FBI soon.
Thought you bought corn, not peanuts. 😂
I sure hope the rats and squirrels don’t find that sack or it will be a self unloading super sack of corn!!
These pigs are probably skittish because they heard what you did to the last pigs.
Oh yeah I always bought my feet in bulk bags like that. It’s a much cheaper.
😃
What does "For Peanuts Only" mean? It means "put whatever you want inside this here 'ol soft sack."
Try going below their snout instead of above their eyes
Ah I'll give that a try. Thanks!
Wes, you know you're not supposed to play with your food. Out of curiosity, have you ever used your food mill to grind your own cornmeal?
I sure haven't. It would work great though. We don't use a lot of cornmeal for cooking actually.
You can't pass up a deal like that, especially when you will use every last kernal.
How much did the deal on corn weigh and how much was it?!?
HAHA They fooled yea. They gave you PEANUTS instead. The bag said "FOR PEANUTS ONLY".
shouldnt you protect the bottom of the posts from water? a 2 liter pop bottle cut in half, put over the ground end and the use a heat gun to shrink the Bottle to the wood, maybe?
Maybe, but the non pressure treated sweet gum lasted nearly 50 years. Hoping the ground contact pressure treated ones have me set for life.
new treated post are not that great. I put treated fence post up and 6 years later you can push them over they just break off at ground level.
🤣 All the very best to you all!
would wood chips improve the pigpen environment any?
I kinda doubt it. It would take a massive quantity to cover the pen. Probably better off moving them when the pen gets good and nasty.
How will you keep the corn from getting moldy or damaged by insects and water?
It's under shelter. And it won't last long the way these pigs go through food.
@falllineridge Thanks for the videos, I watch em all and look forward to the new ones. Best wishes to ya'll.
The pigs heard whet happened to the last batch of pigs….
But, but, is okay to feed pigs corn out of a bag that says “for peanuts only”?? 🤣
That is the new variety of Camo-corn
I think so. The cops haven't shown up yet.
I think the pigs just aren't associating you as a good guy because of the bulk feeder.
The. Ag says pea Utsav only, why's that?
Not sure, works great for corn.
Is it just me, or is that little guy growing like a weed?
I do not mean to tell you how to live. You could have put a bottom on you posts.
I hate to be "that guy", and it is too late for this project but, you really shouldn't cut that pressure treated lumber without a mask. The saw dust is not good for your body.
