Man maqwell doesn’t have good football knowledge lol. I mean you could just see some of his euro and World Cup predictions. But he doesn’t even have good knowledge about his own national team. I remember when he thought Nguyen cong phuong was our best player in a fifa video years ago…and as for this draw I’m really failing to see how this is a bad draw for Vietnam here. Japan is obviously the best team but they don’t even perform how they should against Vietnam. We actually play some of our best football ever when we play Japan. Watch the Asian cup 2019 quarterfinals again and we could of very well sent the game to extra time if we had a bit better luck, Vietnam has faced japan loads of times and are very familiar with their game. As for Iraq, they really aren’t much ahead of Vietnam at all. It’s been pretty much equal each time they’ve met. This is actually a pretty decent draw for vietnam. Not bad at all. I feel like maqwells reaction to this is more because of his own unconfidence with the recent results of the Vietnam national team and the changing of manager. But this is a decent draw.

@ORN227 Iraq is better than Vietnam but not far ahead. Out of all pot 2 teams, there were only 2 other teams weaker than iraq in my opinion, Jordan and China. Two teams that are also pretty much equal to vietnam. Maybe Uzbekistan. Iraqs performance in the gulf cup was impressive but that tournament is definitely not taken as seriously especially for teams like Saudi Arabia etc like many other regional tournaments.

As for japan Vietnam has always performed very good against them compared to other big AFC countries. You don’t know football, some teams perform better against certain teams than others. Yes Japan is the best team in the tournament, but Vietnam would probably have an easier time with japan than against Australia or South Korea or Iran.

Asnawi vs Mitoma that's interesting; it wouldn't surprise me one bit if Mitoma ends up slicing through our entire defense, the guy is an absolute baller rn.
Mitoma might have been warn out because he always plays full in England,and always have minor injuries. I don't think he plays long. maybe kubo plays more.
As a K-league 2nd division fan, I witnessed the true power of Asnawi when Jeonnam was playing against Ulsan in the FA cup match. He has huge potential and I hope he gets noticed by the world in this Asian Cup.
I'm usually neutral between Japan and Indonesia, but if Asnawi is playing, I'm rooting for Indonesia.

I say this with the least disrespect possible but maqwell is really overrating your team. Not sure why he’s so disappointed in Iraq. The matches between Iraq and Vietnam shows this, Iraq is not that much ahead of Vietnam. Even during the time in 2015 when Vietnamese football struggled, they almost beat Iraq in World Cup qualifying if not for a match tieing Iraq penalty in the very last minute. In the asian cup 2019, they lost by a last minute free kick. Not sure why he’s so scared of Iraq. The only other teams that could have been better for vietnam in pot 2 was China and Jordan. This is literally a good draw for vietnam except japan. But the thing is Vietnam is very familiar with japan and have faced them way more than any other pot 1 opponent. So is it really worrying? After all Japan doesn’t even perform their best against us. They literally can only win by 1 goal and Vietnam drew them 1-1 in WCQ. I don’t understand this title of the video..

I honestly believe Mitoma needs his teammates to be supportive in order to play effectively.
Not that he's not great, but he needs his team to be set up for him.
That's not how Japanese national team worked in the past so in my personal opinion, defending players focusing on Mitoma isn't great idea.
The most scary feature of the Japanese national team is when great midfielders fused with a consistent scorer like Kyogo.

Indonesian here! Fresh from winning the SEA Games' Men Football, we're no longer clown of Southeast Asia lol. Here's my thought regarding the draw.
Vietnam - before SEAG, I really dread Vietnam. After 2010, you guys are really hard to beat. Even reaching Thailand level and last round of World Cup AFC qualifiers. but after SEAG, bring it on! we're no longer high on copium but raring to go!
Iraq - the kind of team I like to face, for variety reason. they have sweet memories winning in our home stadium back in 2007. we really liked them back then.
Japan - there are jokes all over the internet that Asnawi will pocket Mitoma lololz. we're breathing copium at maximum flow rate.
I personally do not see us advancing to knock outs, but will be joyous if we managed to win against Vietnam and/or Iraq. 4 pts would be the target (realistically even 1 pt would be tough) but here we go. we even book Argentina for next month friendly, quite bonkers at that!

Vietnam didnt even get a bad draw lol. They play very well against Japan compared to South Korea or Australia and Iraq is barely even ahead of Vietnam. Pretty equal meetings in fact. Vietnam isn’t against the odds, they have a pretty decent chance to advance actually especially since the 4 best third placed teams do as well. maqwell is just really unconfident in the Vietnam national team, and well I can’t blame him since we have a new manager who’s not doing very well with the u23 side..

Contrary to what Maqwell thought, we Malaysians actually are quite optimistic with our draw. We fought with Bahrain toe to toe in our last game, lost because of penalty from keeper error. Defeated Koreans 2-1 & lost by 1-0 to Japan in Asian Games before where some big names are in the current team. Our current winning momentum under Korean coach Kim Pan Gon is also helping us considering he's the VP of KFA before. He literally know in and out how the Koreans play. Its a tough draw for sure, but its not that impossible.
I'm S.Korean. We will prepare 100% for every Asian Cup games. Our aim is Champions of Asia. I wish to we will through to the round of 16 before against Malaysia game. It not means we do not try our best. If we win 2 games before last match. It means we will going through to the round of 16.

It is uncomfortable for us. That means he knows our strong points and weak points. And I think maybe he will feel same things with our former coach, Paulo Bento. Bento was Portuguese.
