I would suggest Clip Studio Paint for editing photos, it's $50 flat price and you get to own the license forever. It's a drawing program, but it serves most of the same functions as photoshop / picmonkey but without the annual subscription. Thought I'd throw that out there, I was never an avid picmonkey user but the fact that it was free and now they're charging people for it is beyond me. I thought the point of Picmonkey was that it wasn't expensive...?
