- In this video I bore a worn and corrosion damaged Early John Deere A block .045” oversized to give it back a decent ring seal and a new lease on life. Follow along for the 5.5”+ cylinder boring on the HBM. Thanks for watching!
Great seeing the old equipment kept alive by craftsmen like yourself.
Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
Nice work saving the old timers.
Thank you, as always, for sharing your art!!! I can watch metal moving metal all day long!
Another save for an old machine! Good job!!👏🏻
Parade queens deserve some love too!
very good job brian..thanks for your time
I'm from further north so I have to watch at 1.5 speed to understand you.
Great work! I've been following you for over a year. I like that you show your measured results.
I doubt I could work faster than you.
Must be pulling season. The big bores are coming out to play! Can't wait to hear it turning 5k ;-)
Glad I got to see my block being bored! This orchard tractor will be a trailer queen but the rest of mine aren't, you will be getting my 730 gas this winter it's getting tired!
Nice job. Regards Stephen in Melbourne Australia.
Nice set up and job completed
Good to see you in the shop again! Thanks for sharing
👍👍...glad you're helping put some new life into that old piece of iron... thanks for sharing this with us all... have a good weekend feller..see ya next time 👍👊🍺🍻
Cool! I wish you could do a video series of you over overhauling one of these engines.
The Cummins Hyster series features me doing an engine build from the ground up.
@@bcbloc02 Yes I watched that hole fork lift build videos. I have always been interested in the 2 Cylinder JD engine. I was lucky enough to drive a John Deere 80 diesel in my youth ( mid 60’s) pulling a 5 bottom trip hitch plow. But I’ve never seen the inside of that engine, but I am still curious about them. I suppose the only rebuilds are collectors projects. And I’ll take this time to say thanks for all the videos you’ve put on UA-cam.
@@bsteleven at some point I still plan to do some dyno work with my 820 so you will probably get to see some then.
Love your channel, Brian.
Thank you for a great video on boring those cylinders. I’m also interested in how you honed those too, I can only imagine it what a grueling process it must have been.
Very nice job Brian.
I always like watching you use the Big HBM.👍
Awesome machine.
First blocks I honed were with a Sunnen AN111 and a Low speed 1/2 Drill and still did good work.
Thanks for sharing. 👍 👍
Have a good Memorial day weekend.
Very nice!!!!!!
Seeing you put up a new video, always put a smile on my face. Good to see you, my friend.
Good to see you too Kimber. 😎
Great job, Brian!
Nicely done Brian. Honing those long bores is a real job by hand!!
Thanks, Brian.
Just order a new Rottler. That is the hot ticket now Brian. 😊
Nice work
Joe
At my current rate of use it should only be a 100 years to break even. 😎
Any more top uploads to come Brian 😎
I had never thought about pudding issues on a horizontal layout before
Ya working on some good gear now! I think I have read they can go out to 0.125" oversize.
Yeah looks like there is plenty of cylinder wall for that especially since these things are really low compression.
Nice work, nothing like the old 2cylinders, especially the sound…..
it would be super cool if you could link a video of any of the pulling tractors you have been working on make a pull =)
A-PLUS on the Kentucky Windage on the good old 2-banger! Blessings!
I dont recall you using that boring setup, looks super rigid.
Nice job. Thanks Brian 👍
Guessing less than .1 hp per cubic inch. Google showing 300 ish cubic inch, 24 hp for JD A, always loved the rumble of those engines.
Nice
Old way seems better to me too
👍🏻
Put the mill into high gear and make it into a honer :)
Brian, how can you do a Boring Video when you're not Boring? 😉🙃🤣
there is a sunnen block hone at hgr but they want 14,000 for it.
From your lawnmower ?
What is that block out of? It looks way bigger than my B that I had bores out to .045?
It is from an unstyled a
What free bore did you give it for heat expansion?
Well, well, well! Another boring video....
