Ever since I first heard this original written by Scott and his boyfriend, I have felt that it should become one of the annual icons of Christmas classics. The words are so meaningful and the music so sweet. It tears at my heart every time I hear it.
This was on Pentatonix's 2020 Christmas album, "We Need a Little Christmas". Evidently Scott had a hard time dealing with the pandemic and this is his thank you to Mark and all his friends and family for helping him through. For me, it expressed my feelings at getting through the year and my gratitude to all the people that supported me. I shared it with a lot of people.
"Oh Lord, it's been a year..." That was the first year of Covid. Certainly we are learning to live with it, but that first year was something else. Beautiful song.
Thank you so much for watching and listening to this lovely and loving song and group! As a gay man I appreciate your telling your audience that we love and are loved! We !I've you too.
An excellent reaction to one of my favourite Pentatonix songs. It really packs a punch. Try Mad World, Prayers For This World, or Imagine if you haven't done it yet. I don't think you've done Say Something and that has a powerful emotional hit.
As I understand it, the first Thank You was from Scott to Mark, the second Thank You was from Scott to his bandmates, the third Thank You was from Pentatonix to the Pentaholics. It's beautiful, amazing, and I know music from Pentatonix really helped me get through that first year of the pandemic.
This is an awesome song. I would love for you to check out the making of evergreen which is their holiday album from last year that they JUST GOT A GRAMMY NOMINATION FOR. It was recorded by Kirstie's partner who is their videographer. You see them arranging and recording songs all together and see the 6th member of Pentatonix, Ben Bram who is their arranger and producer. If you talk over the video you will miss something and if you haven't done the prayer uet, you might want to do it first.
Thank you! I’ll check it out. I don’t talk over the top of videos, as you can tell, so I’m sure I’ll be fine with that haha And yes, I have already checked out The Prayer - REACTING TO Pentatonix - The Prayer ua-cam.com/video/_Gu2hn9wqEQ/v-deo.html

Hi and thank you Adam, absolutely beautiful.
Unreal. One of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. Thank you for your review!
Scott and Mark got engaged in spring 2022 and he and Mark are planning a summer 2023 wedding.
It was also written during covid I believe. Which gives it additional meaning for thanking someone to get them through a very tough year.
It's one you can actually "feel" his feelings and the love between the five.
This is a simple, sweet, poignant song that put a soft exclamation point on a year of isolation due to the pandemic.
I love hearing Kevin play the cello.
This hits me in my heart. We lost 2 brothers due to Covid and reminds me how easily things can change in a family.
I’m so sorry for your loss
"That was magic"...great reaction! Thank you for watching and appreciating this so well.

I so love your understanding of them and how creative they all are together and individually.
Great reaction. PTX has a new Christmas album. The only song with a video so far is Prayers for this World which is amazing.
