Very clean DA for sure. The Spoon certification program is cool, but I don't really get into the Hype as much as some people do. You can get Spoon to "certify" any USDM build you want, you just have to purchase Opak/Spoon products and then pay a fee to have them certify the vehicle. Not really anything extra special in my book, what means something to me is how clean that DA is in general. Whether it's Spoon approved or not I could care less, but I'm a DC2 fanatic and always appreciate any clean Teg out there, and this is certainly no exception! Great work. (Could do without the wing personally; I even put a wingless LS hatch on my Type R, but this is not my car so I have no room to speak!)
When I was going to school, I had one of those (not Spoon) Integras when they were new. Im an old man driving Benzs now, but oh how I miss that car. They just don't make them like that anymore, the lightness, the seating position, the sight lines. Mine was an RS back in the day, and even though the 0-60 was probably something around 9secs, it never felt slow or underpowered. It's been so long I don't even remember what suspension I had on it, but I remember the feeling of it going around curves like a slithering snake. Anyways I just want to say how glad I am to see young guys today still enjoying and preserving those cars. They may never be million dollar collectbles gracing the lawns of Pebble Beach, but the memories I had in mine are priceless!
Wow g2ic. He took me back. I used to be the DA master until parts got harder to find then I switched to the DC chassis. Still love me a clean DA though
wish he would have talked a little more about the credentials of the car. Origination, how those spoon badges came to be had and what separates it from other DAs. Also, can we get some interviews with some of you guys, sit downs and convo about how you all came to be friends, how you got into the car scene, how the channel came to be etc. Would be pretty cool to just hear who you guys really are aside of how silly and goofy yall are haha hit that dab in the next video too hahahaa
This car is not his daily driver, and he is very particular about keeping the car clean. Not to mention the keys racing steering wheel was very expensive.
+chase gibbins the gloves add a nice amount of grip, keep the lettering on the steering wheel clean, are very comfortable, and are fire retardant due to Fia rating if the situation ever arises and i need to reach into the engine bay/ lift my hood to put out a fire
good video man. I hope the next thing on your list is to get a go pro and a flying Droid . some of your shots could of came out even more better with creative thought! your production is good man!
i was waiting for the b18c Spoon crate motor to be under the hood but it never happened. I'm trying to understand aside from the Spoon radiator and front calipers how this car is Spoon certified? Maybe you have to spend a certain amount of money, I dunno how it works...clean DA nonetheless.
wam1004 Cool. My name matches my UA-cam name also. I'll keep an eye out for you, I've been posting some on G2iC since I started fixing up my Integra again.
Anyone know the model wing if i’m not wrong it’s an RSX wing but i have a 1990 RS and i can’t seem to find anyone who has directly said it was from an RSX please anyone
that's a classic Teg . I had about 4 of the da9 chassis cars stock one to a gutted out haul ass machine still personally my favorite honda out there hard to find clean.
Acura definitely needs to build another performance car, too much on luxury sedans and crossovers, they’ve just built the new nsx, which has no wow factor, they need to bring back the next generation of integra
Reasonably clean. It's a 1991 right? I really dislike your exhaust more than anything else. I would take the tiny bit of extra headloss that the stock routing causes over the horrible sounding straight through mufflers. The plugs in the trunk would drive me nuts. If you going to change something like that, you weld and repaint or you don't do it imo. If you are wondering, I've shaved the entire hatch and antenna location before, and I know the struggle. You put in a cold air intake , but then didn't take the bumper off to remove the rest of the airbox. The xsi/gsr cluster on a stock pr4 is a bit odd, and I cannot stand the USDM seatbelts (Ive welded those in before, and have another set for the current car). In the bay, there are too many shinny parts that are not go fast. If it was me, I would have pulled the cruise control, power steering, air conditioning, and abs before getting a polished distributor or oil cap, but to each his own. I will say that It looks like you have a set of PIC coilovers in there, but they don't look like selects from the looks of it. Also spend a couple minutes and replace your valve cover/head ground. Why you're at the grounds, why not relocate the battery? Think of it as constructive criticism, not hate, but it seems like you spend a lot on bolt-ons and cosmetic parts, but there's a ton of other projects I see you haven't done. I've had a 90 da9 gs, 91 da9 rs, I still have a 90 db1 gs, and I built a 92 db1 ls out of a shell and a wrecked db2 for a friend, so please don't think I'm trolling, just pointing out details I noticed. In terms of being clean, I wouldn't hesitate to put up the first da9 I had, but I wrecked it in 2007. I had that car down to the shell and back to get it that clean. It was decent stock, but not like yours is for being original. I had my db1 out in Charleston, SC for nearly three years, and I never ran into anyone from g2ic or 2nd gen owners in general.
TheFootbaldd the go fast parts are in the suspension :) check the build thread. Cruise control, AC, ps . everything still works. no need to remove it for 4 hp. Although i should probably remove the speakers since those are not in use but idc and its my car. my first DA was totaled a few years ago. just gotta come back from it. and for the remaining airbox pieces, good eye. I'll remove that if i ever decide to take the bumper off and throw one pieces on. the video quality does not do the hks exhaust justice, i haven't found a need to change it with a b18a1
forums.g2ic.com/forum/general/general-g2-g2ic-discussion/97334-new-suspension-on-the-db1 That's about all I could find on g2ic from my stuff, A lot of that older posts/threads seem to be gone. I didn't find anything from my older cars, but that is the db1 from 5 or 6 years ago.
I see some of your stuff now. Nice db2. Yeah, suspension is where its at. So you have a b18b converted to obd1 on hondata? I have been meaning to convert a few thing and then wire in a Megasquirt kit myself, but its on the back burner for now. I've been sitting a p8r head for years, but its all in storage right now.
why havent you guys swapped it yet? jk this is the other side of hondas sudle high end parts put together not a back yard throw together like 99% of them like mine lol
you don't see too many da's. I feel eg's/dc's/ek's are all very played out. everyone has them. I don't hate them as I have a ek coupe but I have a soft spot for da's. I'm building a boosted one right now
your car is awesome looking and clean as hell bro no doubt about it, i'm not trying to be a dick head. but you know that on Hondas simpleness is the key for a fwd.. even a Voltex wing or a capistro, hks etc exhaust for a 1.8l. non vtec , wouldn't make sense at all, just saying..
Very clean DA for sure. The Spoon certification program is cool, but I don't really get into the Hype as much as some people do. Wow g2ic. He took me back. I used to be the DA master until parts got harder to find then I switched to the DC chassis. Still love me a clean DA though
So clean I'm in love
wish he would have talked a little more about the credentials of the car. Origination, how those spoon badges came to be had and what separates it from other DAs. holy crap, that's clean. Did he break time and space to pluck that DA from a dealers lot?
the MIB hooked me up ;)
am I the only one that has a problem with the driving gloves?
This car is not his daily driver, and he is very particular about keeping the car clean. Not to mention the keys racing steering wheel was very expensive.
+Honda Street Garage why spend money on something and not enjoy it?
+chase gibbins I think it's very clear that he enjoys it just because he likes to wear gloves doesn't mean he doesn't enjoy it.
+chase gibbins the gloves add a nice amount of grip, keep the lettering on the steering wheel clean, are very comfortable, and are fire retardant due to Fia rating if the situation ever arises and i need to reach into the engine bay/ lift my hood to put out a fire
Yeah driving gloves are pretty cool. My gran wears them and she's a bad ass lol
DA Reppin!!!!!!!
interesting story. Getting flown to see the car sounds sketchy as fuck haha sounds like the beginning of a horror movie!
Im missing the part where he got the Spoon Certification?
very clean and original! w/ legit parts 👍👍
good video man. I hope the next thing on your list is to get a go pro and a flying Droid . some of your shots could of came out even more better with creative thought!

I still owe you a 16 second car 🔑
i was waiting for the b18c Spoon crate motor to be under the hood but it never happened. I'm trying to understand aside from the Spoon radiator and front calipers how this car is Spoon certified? Maybe you have to spend a certain amount of money, I dunno how it works...clean DA nonetheless.
just a spoon radiator cap :P
yeah my 4door db1 would give this thing a run! without the spoon BS..
+jut96755 lol.. IG ? build thread?

Very clean DA! What's your name on G2iC?
wam1004 , thank you !
wam1004 Cool. My name matches my UA-cam name also. I'll keep an eye out for you, I've been posting some on G2iC since I started fixing up my Integra again.
