I'm from India, play local cricket in Australia. It's the lowest grade I play, but the spirit local Australians have to win the game is incredible. They will pick arguments, they will challenge you in every aspect of the game, and they play fearless cricket, never seen them emotionally affected either win or loss. Its the state of mind that is different from Australia and India. If you pick a fight with them they come back harder, my fellow players from India get emotional when they pass any comment and it affects the game. I'm learning that mental strength from them. culturally we grew emotionally impacted by things, I will never give up the love, attachment and family values of my country but learning to balance my emotions.

It was a couple of factors that led to India losing the 2023 World Cup Final.
    1. Before the match, Dravid and Rohit Sharma should have been firm about playing Ashwin instead of Siraj. Siraj had a good tournament, but his performance in the last couple of games leading up to the finals was not up to the par. Plus, Ashwin played at Ahmedabad in the 2011 World Cup quarter final vs Australia and got the wickets of Watson and Ponting. Also, Ashwin has always been a big match player and performs vs the Aussies. He also has a history of troubling the Aussie left-handed batsmen like Warner and Travis Head, and he'd have surely got Head out.
    2. In game decision-making. When Rohit Sharma got India off to a flyer and we were around 75-2 in 8 overs, like Ponting said on commentary, this is where you don't just play your designated role of hitting, but you adapt since it's a special day (a final). Rohit hit Maxwell for a 6 and 4, and should have played safer shots for the next couple of overs since he was the only one of two players timing the ball well on that day (him and Head). His wicket swung the momentum in Australia's favor, because until then even if batting first wasn't the ideal option, Rohit was making it count and had the Aussies in a corner.

Just because a player looks like a million dollars on the naked eye, doesn't mean he can be your go-to clutch player. Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, SKY and Shreyas all look awesome on the eyes but we actually needed a Ishan Kishan for that left-right combination in the middle order. People who rated Gill above Ishan must remember his Asia Cup knock on a tough track against Pak. Him and hardik fought their way to a competitive score. Also, Gill was never in his peak fitness owing to the viral fever that he had before the start of the world cup. Management were very timid and had pressure of popular vote to include him despite his recent illness. They blindly rushed him to play way early. Kishan also established himself with a 200. I felt Kishan could have played a similar role to Gautam Gambhir at No.4 and Iyer, Rahul and Jadeja could have batted at 5,6 and 7 with Kuldeep, Shami, Bumrah and Siraj to follow. We could have batted way better even without Surya as Ishan would have provided great freedom to rest of the batters around him.

Honestly Indian players have poor fielding we have best batsman best bowlers but fielding sucks in an recent show of Kapil Sharma Rohit said sab aalsi murge hain 😢 which is very true Few names like Jadeja , Kohli , Rohit,Pandya are very good fielders but rest of the players don't slide in the field see Aussies they just go to do anything to get the catch forget about Travis head catch in World Cup yesterday's match Tim David took killer catch against RCB . We are not good at fielding we are lazy passionate. See the fitness levels of Australians even though I am big fan of Rohit I always love how Kohli has built himself like a run machine I respect him a lot see Hardik yaa yaa chapri by attitude but his fitness levels 🔥 his performance in knockouts will always be the moment for respect .

The biggest reason for the loss was trying to doctor the pitch. If the pitch had played slow as well in the evening we would have won, but dew came and it just played like a flat track.

Kohli being the key batsman in the Indian didn't take on bowlers after SKY got out. He slowed down the run rate, gave Aussies the upper hand and got out eventually. I would tell Kohli to watch how Arvinda de Silva played in 1996 semi final against India. I think Kohli couldn't handle the pressure, was afraid of getting out.
Its so sad to see the Anchor not praising how good Australia played. He almost choked and then switched the conversation instead of agreeing how good Aussie mentality is.
India will win tournaments when they realize that Dhoni was their last legend. The current crop has no legends what-so-ever. They can be legends after they with a CWC champion.
Also, I think Modi shouldn't have tried to use the final as his campaign. Him running away from the stage killed the handing-trophy ceremony. The worst part was the quiet Indian spectators boo'ed the English umpire.

Beside Hardik, we badly, badly missed Rishabh Pant that day... KL Rahul played the most subdued, lackluster, lukewarm innings in the history of Cricket that day... I personally believe that Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul are exactly opposite to each other... Pant rises to the occasion and KL Rahul boggs down under pressure... It is unfair to blame Jadeja and Surya too... They never got to bat more than 6 or 7 overs in any of the matches... Expecting them to manage almost 16 overs between them, was too much to ask... Hardik was injured middle of the tournament but had he and Rishabh Pant been there, Surya and Rahul would have sat out and we would have had better chance of winning...

No doubt Pat Cummins did fantastic captaincy and he got the price. In the final Maxwell tricked rohit by getting hit 6 and 4 and then googly to invite for a shot and got the price. Rohit should have realised its big match and with Kohli on other side you can imagine how much pressure any opposition would have knowing world's two best batsman are on crease, He should have attacked whenever he wanted rather than continuous attack. With Gill gifting his wicket Rohit should have planned to stay at least till 20th over or 25th to frustrate Aussies. with 3 wickets down in less than 15 overs it was huge pressure on Virat and KL. Pat used his part time bowlers to cover up 5th bowling option, head, marsh and Maxwell covered 10 overs when india was right under pressure between 11 to 20 overs.
KL and Virat should have tried to maintain rr of 6 without risk till 20th overs. But we know without risk there is no reward, they should have taken calculated risks to release pressure and put it back on opposition. a boundary in 2 overs could have turned momentum back to india with 1 lakh supporters in stadium. Surya had best opportunity in life but playing under pressure is not cup of tea. 240 was still a good total to fight and with 41-3 we all thought we can make it. But here rohit went defensive rather than attacking and not putting more pressure by not giving slips to Kuldeep and allowed easy singles. it was a test match situation for sure.
We missed Pandya in both innings Virat and KL could have played with less pressure knowing experienced Pandya is yet to come. HP can take wickets any time with his smart bowling. Having HP in team would have allowed to play another bowler maybe Ashwin who can bat too.
Asked Jadeja to come before surya also added more pressure on Jadeja.
rohit asked shami to open with bumnrah was unusual change that puts more pressure on shami and gives less confidence to Siraj. so literally 4 bowlers were put under pressure to defend 240 runs in a final match. Rohit was under pressure and he made some wrong decisions for sure. Only if hardik Pandya was in squad things could have been a bit different at least it wouldn't have been one sided match.
I wanted to see Rohit and Virat lifting trophy on 19th November and wanted to dance on streets but anyways...

Big games are all about tactics. No room for emotions. Emotions lead to bad decision making. Weigh the situation in practical depth and weigh your options against that.

Let's actually go batsman by batsman. The only player we can say “choked” is Shubman Gill, he got out playing a needlessly risky pull shot. The look on Rohit’s face standing on the other end said it all. And yeah, SKY just looked lost the whole time. But all the ODI big guns got out in the most unfortunate of ways or in manners they could not do anything about:
    1. Shubman Gill - fine, choked
    2. Rohit - thought he had cleared the infielder and 99% of the time he would have been correct
    3. Kohli - seemed to have successfully defended with the middle of his bat, but almost a freak play, the ball finds its way onto the stumps
    4. Shreyas - gets out to the thinnest of edges the third ball he faces
    5. KL Rahul - similar as Shreyas. Swinging delivery that takes a thin edge. The commentator actually said at the moment “a batsman of lesser caliber would have completely missed the ball” due to the movement! But KL Rahul was able to make enough adjustment just to get a thin edge, nothing he could do about it, the definition of “unlucky”
    6. Jadeja - again similar to Shreyas and KL, a reverse swinging delivery that takes a thin edge
So here’s the top 6 batsment. Other than Shubman, no one choked. KL and Kolhi had to rebuild. Why did we lose? It was written in the heavens that it would be so.

Fing 5 bowlers and 5 batsmen is a big pressure on top of the order. it cannot work. India needs to develop better all rounders. Remember YUVI. thats what we need.

No Micheal Vaughan Sir! With due respect I must say, I differ with your opinion about India weren't scared on that day.
Hell India were scared! And the saying that Indian team management thought that, the score of 240 ODD in a final that too in a dew ridden Ahmadabad is a total bull. The thing is, India were scared in their approach, is evident in many ways (esp during batting).
    1) India didn't had any plan B for Pat Cummins masterplan.
    2) They insisted Curator to prepare a pitch (and whoever differs to me on this I have an open invitation for debate) which will curb out Australia's batters, but unfortunately this ploy landed differently for India.
    3) KL hitting only one boundary and that too against Maxwell.
    4) Sending Jadeja over SKY wgo was playing as designated batter in XI. If they didnt had any trust in SKY why did they even picked him in Squad, forget about XI. They could have romp another allrounder in place of SKY as like for like replacement for Hardik Pandya.
    5) Giving the new ball to Shami, when its a known fact that, Shami was more lethal throughout WC with a slightly old ball (coming in 7th or 8th over of innings). Also as they didn't gave Siraj the New ball, which simply make him ineffective as Siraj was only effective in WC during initial overs. And considering spinners got ineffective coz of dew India were playing effectively with two bowlers (Bumrah and Shami).

@@mandakinijha1116 Micheal Vaughan did draw an interesting comparison of this team with the one which Sourav Ganguly made and nurtured and protected like a guardian angel and MSD took to another level by winning WC with it. Vaughan with his tongue in cheek style said that the group which was led by MSD/Ganguly played much better collectively as group than the current lot. Even if we step aside talent levels of players and try to draw comparisons between both teams purely on enthusiasm, fighting spirit and most importantly will to sacrifice oneself for country, then I must say the team under Ganguly/Dhoni were way ahead than this Indian team. This (current) Indian team I believe is not a family, but more of a collection of individual superstars with inflated egos. Not to forget their blind fans, who support them in their all deeds. There is no passion, emotion and an indomitable will to achieve something for the country or to put oneself on the line for the country (just like what Gambhir and Yuvraj Singh did). Well certainly I'm not talking about everyone in this current lot, and certainly many like Shami and Bumrah made us proud with their performance in this WC by putting themselves in the firing line. Ironically speaking these guys don't even have a decent fanbase either way. 😉😉
I'm talking about big names, who takes leave from national duties for their personal duties. I'm talking about a "self proclaimed Prince" who was piling up runs before this game, and when the team needed him most he faltered big time. And certainly I'm talking about two "celebrity cricketers (for their performance in Koffee with Karan)😏" who tend to remain outside from team most of the time in a year, and quite surprisingly return back to the team just before WC or any other major trophy. One of them took his name off from WC just because of a minor injury, but the same guy watched the SF of WC with full pomp and shore. Why wasn't he in the NCA for a speedy recovery for the team? And another guy is just a curious case. Remember how Ishan Kishan wasn't included into the national squad citing some weird reasons that he didn't inform the management, that he didn't play any Ranji Game etc etc. Whereas we all know, not only team management included him in the squad for the Asia Cup (even when NCA didn't confirm whether he was fully fit or not). Leave alone this also, not only was included in the squad, but also made arrangements to include in XI also even for the cost of a regular WK batter. And the management hadn't stopped there. They now took their blunders far far above by selecting the same guy as the first choice WK-Batter for the South Africa Tour. I just don't know what's this whole lot of obsession with the guy who performs once in a blue moon. I don't know, for how long we keep him in the squad just because of his "Utopian immense talent".
Let me just give you a scenario, imagine instead of Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina HP and KL were there in the quarter final game against Australia back in 2011 chasing 260 odds with 4/5 wickets down and only bowler and Yusuf Pathan to follow. Had they been able to win us that game? Just imagine..... 😏😅

      They were playing outdated cricket
I still believe Indian team in test and odi is excellent, only thing to add is collective effort and calm head in knockouts
But In T20 ,this will most probably last dance of Rohit Virat
We need to change our old style method of playing slow in 15 over and leaving too much to do for finishers in last 5

@@mandakinijha1116 Believe me or not, KL Rahul is not a trust worthy player esp when there is a big match situation and everyone is expecting from him. His history tells the same old story against him. So if you ask me, there is no point in having him in White ball squad at all. And btw it's not like we don't have a choice. We have the likes of Rinku, Pant, Tilak Verma, and many more. And btw, how come Bumrah Wasted the 2022 T20 WC. He wasn't even playing that time. And btw if we are so heavily dependent on a single bowler then I believe we are repeating the same mistake of individual brilliance, which can win you matches but not tournaments.
As for Virat Kohli, I have a question mark on him too. At times it appears that, he prioritizes himself/family more than the country esp when there is desperate times. Whether leaving the team for his first child's birth after the distraught in first test against Australia back in 2020-21, leaving captaincy so late (in 2021) and hence making sure that Rohit Sharma don't get the time to make the team for bigger projects like ODI WC 2023. And even in the forgone test series vs England he again took leave due to the birth of his second child.
See I'm not against Virat as a player or even dare to question his hunger and will to perform greatly for the team. It's just sometimes it appears that, instead of being a leader he sometimes acts more like a "Boss" who thinks that everything originates from me and ends with me. At times he appears to be more of a self centered person rather than a team man esp when it comes to serious decisions. I hope you get what I mean.....
