ABOUT SUSANNA HOFFS As cofounder of the multiplatinum-selling Bangles, Susanna Hoffs is a pop icon. She’s garnered critical acclaim as a solo artist working with producers from Mitchell Froom to Jack Antonoff. Her latest album Bright Lights, produced by Paul Bryan, is a heartfelt love letter to the sounds and musicians who shaped her. First waxed by artists like Nick Drake, the Monkees, Badfinger, the Velvet Underground, Syd Barrett and fellow Rickenbacker guitar aficionado Richard Thompson (whose composition “I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight” gives the album its name), these songs were the brain food Hoffs ate up as hungry, dreamy creative kid long before she found fame and success.

The genius of Pet Ham lives on. Beautiful rendition of a wonderful song.
Is that one of those British things?
Yes, sweet memories of Badfinger, the band everyone knows songs of ("Without you", "Day after day", "Baby blue", of Breaking Bad fame) without necessarily identifying them. And Pete Ham- the guy who plays "Here comes the sun" with George Harrison at the Concert for Bangladesh- was such a beautiful songwriter.
One of my favourite Badfinger songs.
The same beautiful faces and voices from 35 years ago. They literally could have shot this video that long ago. And you can never go wrong covering a great old song like this.
As a big Susanna fan, I think I recognize some of the footage from her older music videos (such as "My Side of the Bed" and "Unconditional Love"), so I'm not sure if the video footage here is necessarily current as of 2021, but yes, both ladies still look great. And maybe that was part of the vision for this music video, to show this nostalgic trip down memory lane. I love Susanna's music and have all her albums (and The Bangles, but I guess that goes without saying). Preordered this album and really enjoyed listening to it the other day upon its release. :) I think it's really awesome that, despite infrequent album releases, Susanna has managed to build a solid solo career after all, proving all the critics wrong who initially panned her debut solo album and said she was nothing without a band to back her up. She's an inspiration that sometimes, you don't have to run the race the fastest to get somewhere; you can achieve your dreams at any age and it's never too late for a new endeavor. :)
Beautiful goddesses always but this footage is from the 90's. Either way what a cover. Took my breath away.

Another masterpiece by the Master of Melody Pete Ham.
Very few songwriters could sing and play guitar as good as him… he was certainly on a different level
Pete Ham was a phenomenal player/singer/songwriter. Deserved a better fate. Great song.
Susanna Hoffs and Aimee Mann collaborating together? I love them both! This is a dream come true!
Proper music. Ham is a genius! Evans aint too shabby either. Hope Stan Polley is forever forgotten.
Don't forget Molland and Gibbins either.
Susanna and Aimee sound the same as in the 80s. And they harmonize so well together. A new recording by Susanna has been long awaited by her hardcore fans.
This cover was absolutely beautiful.
Susanna always hits her covers out of the park.
People are distracted by Susanna's beauty and they don't fully realise what a superb and controlled and disciplined voice she has... That takes work as well as natural ability
True, and lets not overlook Aimee's beauty.
@@bnosel Wasn’t Aimee Mann supposed to be in this Video?.. Musta been distracted by Susanna’s Beauty!
@@stevemurray2737 ... How do these supremacists maintain their prejudices after they have seen Susanna ? She can replace my ginger jobby anytime
@@chevinbarghest8453 Ah… But Gingers do have special powers..

One of Pete Ham's most gentlest of songs, done with great respect by the ladies here.
There should be a full album of these two awesome ladies together!
I was just about to comment that it would have been awesome if Susannah and Amy had collaborated on full albums,
So glad this song by Badfinger is getting some notice. You guys really did a great job on this.
I Agree. Just one of many great Badfinger songs.
I was a big fan of badfinger. Such a sad ending for them. Great band.
Good to see and hear. I always liked badfinger..,,A great sound, and their ending was very sad.
Love these women,
I can’t get over how good Susanna looks after all these years. Stunningly beautiful. Oh my God. Talent and beauty.
I must say that I have enormous respect for you considering the manner in which I have made contact with you. I am very glad you are a fan of mine. May GOD bless you some more. I would love to have you a free ticket whenever am in your home zone and if am much free we can hangouts for dinner before my show, it always been a huge pleasure to have time with my fans before my event
She has an eternal beauty that only an angel is gifted with. And such talent

I recently discovered your and Aimee Mann’s cover of the Name of the Game. I was stunned and so pleasantly surprised that anyone else even knew about this absolutely beautiful and melancholy song, let alone artists of your caliber. Thanks so much for the gorgeous recording! It gave me chills.
Stunningly beautiful rendition of this prescient Badfinger masterpiece. This song permeates the soul, and it lingers. Thank you Susanna.
Two gorgeous and talented lasses.
Music is life :)
What a most wonderful rendition of a Badfinger classic performed by two of the undoubtedly most beautiful ladies in todays music world.
Susanna is even more gorgeous now than back in the 80s!
As soon as I heard the melody..I knew it was Pete Ham. Thank you Aimee and Susannah. Great music.
What a Great memory, BADFINGER and Peter Hamm. Beautiful.
*Ham.
So I head to tiktok and through looking I come across this. My all time favourite song by local legend Pete Ham. I cannot put in enough words what it means to hear you’ve done a version 🫶🏼
Manic Monday meets 'Til Tuesday!
Love Da Badfinger and love this Cover by two talented Ladies.
Susanna is alike a hidden treasure buried right under your nose and coupled with the links of Aimee Mann is like a holy grail ......
Lucky are we that discover Both talents ....
As if we needed more proof that Susanna is one of the most beautiful women of the last century
When two incredible songwriting talents pivot to pay homage, you'd best pay attention. If this is a forecast of the two of you putting out a full-length together you can have my money.
The obvious comment would be about how beautiful these two ladies are and what a great job they did with this song.... and all of that is very true. But, damn what a gorgeous song this is and it never got the play that it deserved or that many of Badfinger's songs received. Pete Ham was a genius and his story, as well as the entire Badfinger saga is so, so sad........
.....I'd say, EXCRUCIATING(ly so) Mark :(
Hello how are you doing today thanks for your support my music always where are you from
@@susannahoffsofficial1769 You're most welcome. I am from middle Tennessee. Thank you for reply.
This song is really good from two divas whose groups ruled the charts in the mid 80s as well as there successful solo careers
"their" You're welcome..
Lovely high harmonies from Aimee (starting around 2:37) add a distinct flavor to this version.
Yes, very good. She has great range, and you don't hear her go to the high side quite as much. I was playing 'The Forgotten Arm' in a girl friend's car one time, and she said the singer's voice is very androgynous. I had never thought of Aimee's voice that way. Still don't.
Their voices compliment each other so well. Great combination.
Surprisingly, this is right. I would think that these two would be an odd pairing.
Such a true-to-spirit rendition of a gorgeous Badfinger song. Bravo, Ladies!!
Seeing this masterpiece makes me wish time would stop right here.
I dont care what anybody says Susanna Hoffs is a wonderful Human Being.Ive watched and listened to her forever.Ive asked her to Marry Me 9000 times in My Dreams. So far I've stayed asleep Long enough to see Her walking up the Aisle Towards me.But I wake up before she gets to me.Its ok that way I get to keep Dreaming about Her.Susanna You Don't Know this but I'm so in Love with You lol.
One of my all time favourite songs by Badfinger. This is a great version. Thank you.
Right on Blind Owl. Was just thinking of yer namesake, as I was paying homage to some of the lesser known members of the ill fated 27 Club.
It's nice to see Bad Finger's influence coming outta the woodwork by awesome artists
I really like this Bad Finger song. Susanna and Aimee did it justice. Thank you.
This is amazing! Thank you for doing this Badfinger song. There are SO many more that should be redone...
One of the best cover versions of a song I have ever heard, done with such emotion and timbre in the vocals. What we need now is for these two very talented Ladies to make an album of material penned by Hoffs/Mann. Now that's a record that I would buy in an instant across all formats.
I love to see Aimee singing!
A LOT OF MAGNIFICENCE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great, job Susanna & Aimee on this awesome Badfinger song. I think Pete Ham would have loved it.
I must have died because I hear nothing but ANGELS 😇 MANN AND HOFFS ARE LEGEND ♥️♥️♥️🔥🔥🔥🤟🤟🤟
took me a minute or so to remember who first did this song, but good version ladies. very haunting.
THE NUMBER ONE HIT SINGLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This song will give to your coffee a better taste. Its like a warm blanket on your shoulder. Love it.
a stunning rendition of a classic tune, a side note is that two of the library clips used in the video were also in the original video for Edison Lighthouse;s "love Grows (where my rosemary goes)
I guess this will lead me back to you, since that Sweetheart of the Sun album that made my day. From the 83-85 Rickenbacker-soaked days of wine, rain and rose-thorns, to nowadays of fiction reality, your voice and guitar will always appease me like an angel passing by. Thanks.
One word: Brilliant👌
Simply beautiful,
I love all of
Susanna's music that she puts out but her cover versions are especially beautiful.
The guitar pick you gave me at the Seattle show after Eternal Flame a few years back is still so cherished. Thank you for all the hair brush songs growing up and still making music for the older me. You are a national treasure.
Always loved this song, Pete Ham I think would enjoy these lovely ladies version of his song also.
Well,my first two imaginary girlfriends from the 80's.Good to see and hear from them again.we should not lose these two because of lesser more highly valued talent present today.
I'll be here for you. I see them now and they're not following a consistent path. They are everywhere.
THE NAME OF THE GAME.
Oh Susanna and Aimee! Beautiful duet!
A wonderful Pete Ham song!! (Badfinger). :)
Hamming it up. He's a member of the 27 club, and you almost never hear his name. Ron McKernan too, and I'll bet even most so called Deadheads do not know that. Excellent version, you two!
I can't believe I just stumbled across this. Two of my favorite artists ever since the 1980s, who inspired me to play both guitar and bass. :swoon:
I have songs from both SH (Beekeeper's Blues) and AM (Voices Carry) in my open mic night set list.
Peter would have been proud of what you did with this song, giving it the proper justice.excellent rendition.
Absolutely amazing badfinger cover I love the songs one of their best underrated tunes to me
So who's idea was it to put these two great voices together? My compliments....BRAVO!! Not that they are two of my 80's heartthrobs or anything.......
Good job, nobody covers a Badfinger song..
I remember back in the day I had the Straight Up record on 8 track tape. I used to let it loop around and around while I cruised around in my 1969 Mustang. One day it got eaten up in the tape player beyond repair. I went back to the record store to get another copy. You couldn't get it, you couldn't get any Badfinger records. Long story short I started searching the fleamarkets and record convention's. It took years but I finally found them all..
It’s almost as if this was recorded, put in a time capsule and only recently discovered. Two such distinctive voices that blend so well together. Bravo - well done!
I've never heard of this song before, my sin, I'm in love with it since now.
con la tua voce e la tua musica il mondo e' un posto migliore fabrizio
So glad to hear this too obscure gem of a song get attention! Beautiful version!
I see Amiee Mann and I just click. Love her.
Exquisite. Pure class. Two of the best voices and musicians to this day. I love all of your Under the Covers albums. Your respect for the songs shines through. Can't wait for the new LP!!!!
What a beautiful, beautiful cover of a beautiful song. Those two voices are perfect, the leads, the harmonies, just beautiful.
Yup, still in love with these two stunning talents - my high school crushes remain in tact, 35 years later!
At first I thought it was going to be a cover of the ABBA song of the same name. Then I was pleasantly surprised. Loved this song! Never knew it was a Badfinger song. Excellent. Now I wouldn't mind hearing any ABBA song covered by Miss Mann and Mrs. Roach. Two of the best! Thank you, ladies.
Nice to know Badfinger still lives on!
CON SUSANNA HOFFS E LA SUA MUSICA IL MONDO E' VERAMENTE UN POSTO MIGLIORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's not a complaint at all, but I so wish this song had an extended version that went 12+minutes. I just get mesmerized and wrapped up in the words of Hamm, the voices of Hoff and Mann and the visuals of the video..... This is a much need to my soul, again! Just as it was when I discovered it by Bad Finger!
I have to agree. An extended version here would be really excellent. I couldn't help but picture this rendetion being in a soundtrack to a movie and the scenes it would fit in.
I guess now the only thing needed is someone who can write a movie script, a bankroll, a movie company to get it done and out, some actors and actresses ( maybe Susan would be the key role or a key role), and permission to use this version for the movie.
Umm anybody know anybody that fits in any of those in the above list...
pop rock solare , nostalgico e romantico , BELLO!
I crushed for Susanna when 16,and after alla this years she is still so gorgeus❣
One of my favorite Badfinger song, even if I prefer the Badfinger's version, this one is different but really good too, Susanna Hoffs is always good and I like the duo with Aimee Mann!
Two of my favorite female singing voices - and they blend like the voices of angels. Tears from the emotion of it all.
I'm sorry for all your tears. Try to keep your head up and most of all, never ever skip calf day. 🇺🇸🏋️💪
@@quantumpotential7639 I insulted you and burned your arse in my reply and would have clearly won this round, but the censors at UA-cam erased my comment even thought I toned it down on the second attempt. So I guess you win.
Love this. Two of my favorite female singers.
Saw the Bangles Jan 2 1985 at the Paradise in Boston Suzanne was a knockout still is great singer. Saw and stood next to Aimee at a Lechmere store in Boston probably same year. She is tall I wish I said hello but I was star struck
Thank you Susanna and also Aimee for this classic cover, thank GOD the world hears more of Pete and Badfinger's beautiful music!!
Wonderful to hear Pete Ham's songs from Badfinger catalog featured by both of you!!
Yeah, baby! Susan Hoffs of The Bangles and Aimee Mann of TIL TUESDAY...MY KIND OF MENAGE A TROIS! LOL!
Everytime I listen to this song and the two fantastic voices it comforts and strengthens me.
How can someone get even more beautiful when they were perfect before. Her sound equals her beauty.
This may be best cover song I have ever heard!
Superb! AM classy act on everything she does. Also, great use of vintage video footage, and love the use of the 60's dancers from the Edison Lighthouse promo film, actually one of the most joyful songs ever written and released.
Under-rated Badfinger song!, Well done.
East and West together. Must be a miracle.
I LOVE SUSANNA HOFFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll tell you what, you go down the the Bangles - Cowsills - 70s 80s 90s etc. mix and match rabbit hole and you stike gold over and over and over again..................
such beauty leaves me speechless. I hope the rest of the project is this good.
Love this song!
Just lovely.
Love the concept for the video. It fits the feel of this wonderful song.
We knew this was coming, those of us who have been following Lee Sklar. We were excited to hear.... 🙂❤🙏😎
This is my new favorite record....
Love it !!!!!!
.....maybe YOU two can petition the HOF to FINALLY nominate them, Susanna? Yeah, a RHETORICAL question, I do realize - as it STILL has yet to recognize the BANGLES.....
This song was on the first album (Badfinger) my Dad ever bought, when he was 14 years old. I was only a couple of years younger when he gave me my first Aimee Mann cd, Whatever... And I fell in love with her music.. I just turned 40 last month.. My Daddy was the one who told me about this song being released. I had no idea they did a collaboration, but it is AMAZING!!
❤️ Beautiful duets ❤️
Such distinctive voices blending so well. Fantastic.
Thank you so much! for the roller coaster of emotions!
Love this tune, excellent song choice and performance :)
