  • This soup, Homestead Series: Beef Vegetable Soup (no sugar added) can be made in a variety of ways giving you a nice change-over in your pantry stores. Make a chicken or a beef version.
Just be sure and blend 'fresh garden' veggies and home canned broths where you can. But use all the parts of your veggies and make a stock you can freeze or can to use for the next soup/dinner items later.
Economic hardships are no time to waste good food, whether it's from a box mix or a garden. You got this!

Love the veggie stock idea! I hate throwing away the end pieces and what not. I'm going to start doing this. I just discovered tour channel a couple weeks ago and I love it!

Yes!!! I’m military and for many years lived in the barracks without a kitchen and once I moved out and started cooking again, I learned how to make my own stock, as well as cooking a wider variety of veggies. I haven’t used can or box stock since. I always make my own now. Even freeze it in freezer bags. It’s amazing what you can accomplish with enough freezer space and one day of cooking/prepping. I cook big pots of spaghetti sauce, chili, read beans, pasta al fagioli (cook the noodles when ready to eat the soup), and freeze it all then take out a bag whenever I want to eat it.

Love the idea of making beef vegetable soup to have on hand in the freezer in case someone gets sick. Funny thing is, it's often times me ( mom) who gets a cold and needs the soup!! Thanks for sharing the recipe.

    Love beef vegetable soup!
Janie could you and the Dr. please pray for me? I’m having severe problems with my blood pressure. This is pre-virus so now this is definitely not helping LOL. I guess my thyroid went bad and I had no idea. I guess it should be a 1.5 and it was actually a 17. So the doctor said that that is probably the biggest problem because I was having depression and anxiety problems because of the thyroid. And then it drove up my blood pressure. But now it’s being completely erratic so even they are a little bit? So I do have the gift of discerning of spirits so I have a lot of stress on a regular basis anyhow. Well God bless

Oh let me add I’ve had all of the tests and all my organs seem good praise father God in Jesus name. But my family does have a weird heart problem called Prince mental Angina. So something might be going on with that. I was checked years ago and came out OK but I don’t think that my mom got it until she was in her 50s?

Our prayers are going up for you to find this issue and get it solved in God Speed time. I have a heart issue called SVT. Super Ventricular Tachycardia. My heart races over 300BPM. It makes me super active and nervous acting. I take meds and they work well... My mother got this from a thyroid issue. I know your family condition is chest pain usually in the night or early morning hours.... do you have this pain? I know it is relieved at times by taking nitrates. Spasms of the heart need checked. John had this and they fixed his heart.
Dear Father, who is in Heaven, please raise this woman and her family up and heal them. Keep them protected from the virus as they visit drs and hospitals, allowing death to pass them by. Help Evie find a good dr and help her through her times of troubles. Let her know she is not carrying her cross alone. Let her know in spirit that you are with her body and you are the great Healer. Help calm her and bring her insight as to how to deal with this health issue. In Jesus Name, AMEN! Keep us updated.

I thought that this was from food Storage....not food from freezer and fridge.

Food storage includes your garden fresh veggies, depression time, money-saving ways of making a meal stretch, then you'd dive into other goods, when that runs out, like your dehydrated goods, your can goods, your home canned goods, your freeze dried goods, freezer corn etc...you should never put all your food in one type of storage and you would use up your fresh food before you started using up your deeper long term storage items. You're not going to let your fridge and freezer goods go bad while you eat your 5-gallon bucket of rice and beans! No... you would eat up your fresh items first, like milk and breads...etc... Then your dated box goods, then your home canned good and dehydrated goods, then your longer-term dry storage goods, like powdered milk and mylar bag items. I'm not going to break protocol to make a video-- we really are in a disastrous situation. I'm eating my fridge foods first, then my box goods and freezer foods, etc.. in three months, I'll be eating from my 'second layer stock pile'.
