exactly. i still use the vs2480 and very nice mics and preamps to record with. the daw's have good preamps in them, but i haven't used the preamps within them in years. u can get some great quality recordings out of daws if u know what u are doing. u can also mix your project down in them or export to wav files and have someone do it for u. also, u can import wav files from pro tools sessions. it's not what u use, but how u use it.

Always a Kev Brown fan... I wonder how much and where I would need to go to get vinyl presses. Song I'm mixing now, I think would be dope on vinyl, not a whole bunch of copies. I'm a nobody... but I still make a little noise, LOL. When its done, I def gotta give to them cats on Ill Street Grooves (RNL, RBI, etc).

I think that's the Yamaha AW4416G, and it's more of a studio/hard disk recorder, which means it is also a mixer, but not simply a mixer alone.
