Want to START a business? Go here: skool.com/games
If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbitl in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.
Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.
Never quit,
Alex
FULL DISCLOSURE
I make content to make money - just - on a longer time horizon than most. I want to build trust with business owners so we can find the best ones and help them scale. And if they’re awesome, write them a check and go all the way as partners.
Alex is so sick of people interviewing him, he interviewed himself
Andrew is just that cool my guy
Who's Andrew @@Hope-yc6lh
As long as the sun keeps shining over your face you still have a chance 💪🏼
People also forget that because it takes money to make money, people usually work 20+ years before they even have the capital to venture out on their own
Skill issue tbh
There’s so many methods these days to get raise capital. It just requires extra effort and risk which most people aren’t willing to do. Everyone wants a “safe” way to do a risky venture. Truth is, things aren’t going to be perfect no matter what you start with. Just dump in the deep end and try to survive.
It doesn't take money to make money. It takes skill and effort
Doesn’t always take money to make money
In Andrew and Peggys case they worked for 10 years for panda inn with Andrews father.
TEN YEARS, and after that their panda express locations were at malls which took a big cut of revenue
It takes an insane amount of time to get good
Not a good example, he was 25 when he started his 1st location. Then Panda Express was created 10 years later.
30’s and 40’s isn’t old.
Now is the best time to start! 🎉
Agreed, the best time to start was when you were 12, second best time is now
@@Hope-yc6lh exactly 🤩
And there are many like them!
35 is very young
Thank you
Love this!!
THANK YOU 🎉
I love it, Panda express is an excellent franchise
Yes it is, it’s always right now. No matter when it is, it’s always right now… Pretty weird when something sparks your own answer. 🤙🏽
35 was young back then and still is in some countries and communities. You're not even allowed to party at age 21. Then again, you probably shouldn't be networking with wine drinking alcoholics and studying with future events planners. And focus on your studies and health. Then again, your first job will probably have an event for tasting wine 🍷😀
Alex could you go over your nutrition again? Like supplements, Vitamins minerals. Would love to know how ubthink and act on that.
I'm 42 and still dream of running my own shit but I gotta alot of shit to clear before that is possibld.
Julia Child was 40 (or something like that) when she took her first cooking class.
Do whatever it takes to achieve your goal - and if you got stuff to "clear" clear it. --Unless you want to be okay with not achieving that goal. Which is okay, but something to be honest about with yourself.
As for me, I'll take my own advice and stop wasting any more of my time in comments sections! 😮 Alex is right about how rich people value their time. 🤔
You can do it
No you don’t. You just have to make a decision! You’ll find the time once you do that
I feel that and I’m nearly 29 😵💫 but I like the concept and phrase of “larger airplanes need longer runways”.
I’m finding it comes down to having a vision with clarity, a specific direction, and consistent discipline. Much much easier said than done 😅
Keep taking your time to clear your shit. Maybe one day you will be done clearing it out. ** Less competition for me.
If you ask me if I prefer to be a decabillionaire by 75 or beign a thousander at 30, which I am, I will prefer me, because your youth it's not renewable, that doesn't mean i don't want more money, it means that equating money with age it's not the metric to compare
so i can wait, is that what you're saying? 🤣
Andrew is 40 years in and keeps eating mushroom chicken every week
Life’s long enough to do anything yet too short for doing nothing
What is this song
💎
35 is not old Alex. Most millionaires are 50+ years old dude
Alex is still pretty young so he feels like 35 is old :-)
People also love way longer now. You can start at 50 and you still have 50yrs to grow things
Pile 2 & 4: Cancer Taurus my big 3💯 I have received information through meditations and dreams that I will have a son who I share a past life connection with! Love your videos❤❤❤
It's not about age but about time&energy invested in something, it takes around 10000 hours to master something. The earlier you start the better it is.
Yeah except: little problem, everything you can want to do has already been done, gotten someone rich, who can now use their massive capital and influence to destroy your business.
Andrew and Peggy said that too, when they made panda Inn there was crazy competition in the Chinese American food market
Peggy and Andrew focused on mixing the two cultures to make Chinese inspired American food and now work on helping grow people within their business.
It's doable, I talked to Andrew this past week he said that
'When we are in hard times, it is the perfect time, because all our growth comes through problems' (he still visits stores btw
It's about quality, delivery & marketing, you can get you "piece of the pie" if you try hard enough, plus lots of things are geospecific; do research about businesses around other places that are not near you and do it yourself in your street/town/region/country; anyways in the age of interconnectedness of today your best bet is an online business anyways
Gas
Wait lol is this the fake podcast format??
Ask yourself is the person telling to become a billionaire even a billionaire??? No dude just rants and rants tbh.
