Phantom Siita brings in variety for tot Musica. Ado is obviously better at singing but Phantom Siita provides the visual performance.
And no Ado can't be in Phantom Siita because not a single one of them has her timbre when I heard them live.
Edit: I think I better qualify this a little more. I'm a big fan of both Ado and Phantom Siita. The average age of the girls in Phantom Siita is still young, there's room for growth. And they have their own unique vocal qualities. It shines especially in their own solo pieces during the concert. Rinka's warm lower register, Hisui's unique higher pitches, Moka's large vocal range, etc.
Perhaps in a few years they will indeed find their own areas to develop in and not rely so much on imitating specific parts of Ado's vocal qualities.

Fun fact: to choose the members for Phantom Siita, Tot Musica was chosen as the audition song and then Ado chose the members from these auditions.
Ado actually trains Phantom Siita, she's not one of them. Phantom Siita has BTS videos of Ado training each and every member how to sing the songs.
As for why they bend backwards a lot...im not sure if Ado choreographs them too, probably not. But Ado sometimes also bends her back in her choreography (e.g Unravel Live when she screams UNRAVELLING THE WORLD) and Ado usually can pull them off.
Ado actually sang Tot Musica at the age of 19 which is the same age range as Phantom Siita (note that as of now, she's only 1.5 years older than the oldest member). There's also a live version of Ado singing Tot Musica on a TV show but it's not from the official channel so you could check it out in your own private time if you life

I'm a big ado fan and since there debut also a fan of phantom siita, and while i maybe just found them thanks to the fact that ado produces them, i think they deserve more than the title "ado's idol groupe" ^^

Yeah when she said that I was like who’s giving her TikTok conspiracies as credible “rumours”. We can listen to Ado’s voice, we can hear everybody else’s voice, they don’t sound anything alike. The closest one is Rinka, but her voice is still incredibly different to Ado’s. And just as a concept it doesn’t make much sense to me, but I get that it’s probably started by Ado fans who really want to know who she is so they like to have ideas of “what if-“ I doubt many of the people who even say that take it seriously
Yeah my friends thought Japanese idols would sound just cutesy and kawaii and their whole trope was to sound cute, then heard Phantom Siita and went like "Dude this is just K-Pop in Japanese". They (and I, honestly) don't really care about the retro horror style they're going for, but mostly care about the music and how catchy it is. But yeah they underestimated them quite a bit.
The big tell is that, being completely honest despite loving them all, none of the girls are even close Ado's level
@@code8825 tbf, Ado proved with just God-ish alone that she could feasibly mimic each of their voices. And since she has her April Fools' group, she can hide her skill level if she chooses; none of the voices she uses (natural or tech-changed) her ability to add texture or character.
Only one who isn't as likely is Hisui, who had already debuted before, but the fan theory isn't wholly implausible for the other four. BTS vocal coaching could be faked very easy since it's all edited and only certain parts, and their world tour schedule has no overlap (even tho she'd travel with them as their Producer), and Ado has also improved her dancing even if we don't see the minute details beyond shadows.
(disclaimer: i'm not pushing the theory, but i like how it's interesting. but it's hard to dismiss the plausible moments we all seem to collectively pick-up on regardless)

Alright! To be serious, if we insist on saying that they have currently defeated Ado in any aspect, I think it must be the body movements, at least in terms of choreography skills, which Ado cannot hold up🤣
So far, I have found that the only schedule they performed on the same day as Ado was the third day of COUNTDOWN JAPAN 24/25 last year (Dec 30).
Although there is still a time gap of nearly four hours, the organizer should not be so idle to arrange performances for someone in different venues on the same day.😅

In fact, the members of Phantom Siita are quite young overall (some members are only 17 years old!), so I also laughed when you said they are like little lion roaring🤣. They are such adorable girls.It's a pity that you didn't use Ado's tot musica live ver. Oh,by the way, Ado will be performing in Los Angeles on March 16th (matsuri '25: Japanese Music Experience LOS ANGELES). YOASOBI will also be performing at this event. A portion of the proceeds from this show will be donated to the Los Angeles wildfires recovery fund. I'm really looking forward to seeing if Ado and YOASOBI will have any live collaborations (like episode x). However, with Ado + Yoasobi, I can't even imagine how difficult it will be to get tickets 😨 And I'm also very jealous that someone might be the first audience to hear Ado's new song Elf in that live
It's interesting that out of the 5 girls, only two have vocal training. Hisui (the tallest, with a high voice) graduated from a music college and sang in a group for two years. And Moka, the girl you liked - she studied with vocal teachers since childhood. The rest are studying right now. The girl with the deep voice is Rinka.
In Japan, the attitude towards idols is different from K-pop, they are not trained in advance. They learn as they perform, and they are loved for their hard work.

Tot musica was an assignment for the Phantom Sita member selection audition, so all of the girls can sing it.
I didn't know that Phantom Sita members were known to include Ado in their group overseas.

Ado 'can not stay on her base voice' she is a vocaloid singer at her core, those were her beginnings, is not easy starting singing with and imitating vocaloid song if one is staying at their own base voice, I think after much practicing it became her second nature.

I think it's totally fine to baby them. They are young of course, career included especially(ado is as well in both cases here but she's a unique case lol), so this performance feels like they're having fun going "unhinged" and imitating Ado in her singing and stage presence but still a bit healthy with their voices. Moka, the girl in blue definitely shone the most here in my opinion especially during the last sequence

My little 5yo really love Phantom Siita, she's really captivated by these girls. I am too to be honest. Their original songs is composed and written by really talented producers. Some of the songs are mindblowingly brilliant in how they use the tiniest details to keep you engaged. "Hanagatami" is a perfect example.
Vocally I like the raw talent that's there, but they really have some growing to do. In their studio recordings they work past that, but naturally it shows live. They are just baby lionesses (to use your words) so they have plenty of time to learn and grow. With Ado coaching them I am sure they will get there soon enough. I want them to succeed so I hope they manage to keep their concept and continue to captivate us with interesting new haunting and troubling tracks and not having to rely on too many random covers way outside of their concept to fill concert set-lists as they do now.
As for this particular performance, I find it cutesy but a bit too theatrical. I understand why they do that, tho. That way they can justify that their voices isn't really mature enough just yet to perform this song live without the backing of a production like they have in the studio. They will find a balance with more experience, I'm sure.
Now we know where some of the vtubers take their singing lessons from 😅😌

I love Phantom Siita and really want them to make it big, but I think they have two major drawbacks that will be the reasons why they will never be a fraction as successful as Ado herself (domestically at least).
First one: They are marketed as Idols, but don't fit that market at all because they "want to change how Idols are seen" (hence the butterfly moth in their name). (Standard) Idols in Japan are not mainly singers or musical performers. Idols in Japan are cute, often sexualized, girl-next-door characters whose main focus is on playing personas that create fantasies for their fans (I'm generalizing of course but for a lot of them that's the only reason they sell anything). Phantom Siita are musical performers who don't want to be those kind of characters but serious artists. So audiences who want to listen to music because of the music will think "oh, not another Japanese/domestic Idol group" and mostly dismiss them without even giving them a try. Audiences who want to watch and listen to domestic Idols will think "oh, but they don't do enough "fanservice" and are just performing seriously" and will mostly dismiss them, period. So their audience will be probably mostly be category one people who know about Ado's involvement, mixed with some KPop fans who gave them a shot. Don't know how many people fall into that category.
And the second reason: They are "Ado's Idol group", so everyone will always compare them to her. And nobody should kid themselves, Ado is probably uncomparable for/to any singer in the world, so they will always fall at least a little bit flat. But if Ado will say "let's let them do their own thing" someday in the future and they aren't 100% established, then the first reason will come into play again and this time without the Ado bonus.
They may be intended as a K-pop style group.
_"I'm generalizing of course"_ that's an understatement ahah, unfortunately that's what gives most westerners a false preconceived image of the idol scene :p
99% of people won't get past the AKB48 stereotypes and will completely ignore the diversity and talent of the idol world, full of actual musicians, singers, dancers, who aren't here to be "sexualized girl-next-door characters", just like well, Phantom Siita
@@TheLeomarti I definitely get your objection, there are (popular) Idols with talent, MomoClo or a lot of the alt-idols groups for example, but that's why I said "standard" Idols, with which I meant, as an example, the Akimoto or "number" groups (AKB, Nogizaka, etc and chika idols who take them as their templates for how to behave as an idol). Those are the most known groups outside of Japan, the most successful and popular ones in Japan in the last 15+ years (unfortunately) and the most copied and looked up to groups by girls who want to become an Idol. And of course, not every single one of the thousands of girls who went through those groups are talentless hacks, but a lot of them were when it came to musical talent and were only popular because of the character they played, the "character" they had/have and their public image. And that's also why they got chosen on the streets or in an audition even before they sang one note, as Akimoto even confirmed a few years back. Even if they could sing, a lot of "fans" didn't notice or care, as long as they played their character well and made their "fans" believe they had a shot with them so they would buy 20 CDs per concert to get a handshake. It's unfortunately a well-known fact that Japan, even more so than western countries, prioritizes looks over talent, how could anybody explain otherwise how all those gravure idols/models who couldn't act if their life depended on it get so many roles in tv dramas and movies (especially in popular manga adaptions). It's probably also one of the reasons why so many "faceless artists" become successful and popular in the last few years in Japan, they want to be judged by their talent, not their looks. Sorry for the long winded reply that took a turn into rambling at the end, but hope I could clear the intention of my comment up a little.

But yes I understand what you mean and we agree on that gravure/model digression. Better yet, I totally agree with everything you said, which is just one part of the scene and not a global representation, fortunately.
I think that's where the nuance is lacking, the problem being that the vast majority of people genuinely believe that "idols = talentless sexualized underage girls" and "idol = bland pop" are the rules, so I always try to debunk those ideas.

@Olkam-w5u production's wise, Red films songs have better Quality than her own songs. I think it's beacuse her songs are more experimental and some of then have heavy "Vocaloid" production behind, so I think is My preference stands towards her songs production than style.
