yay That's one of my packs that I sent in ! Whoooooo!
Congrats on getting out of the drawer.
@@aidennoir597 can't wait to see the mail time with the rest of the box I sent.
@@nichwolfwood101Based on the frequency of mail time videos, I think you will have to wait
Yay! It’s your pack. (Gets to 2:10 ) oh it’s your pack.
Kamigowa is an amazing set.
5:36 The fun thing about Suit Up was it worked very well with Ninja.
Your opponent plays a turn 2 Virus Beetle making you discard a card. It's now turn 3, they swing with their virus beetle into your two bears.
Do you block? Yes: Suit up, they get card advantage. No: Ninjutsu Moon Circuit Hacker in for 1. They draw a card. Then they replay Virus Beetle, you discard another card.
Of course they could be bluffing, but you don't know that.
The enchant artifact or creature also is there for the reconfigure creatures that equip to others since they lose the creature type upon reconfiguring
I'm glad I'm not the only one who took a real long time to realize what the art for discover the impossible is
Trying to find the clitoris was my guess.
It's a Dandan-like so of course its an instant classic
I almost have to think that it was intentional on the part of the artist to do so. If so, very cool!
you got me, you were behind another tab 😭
AND AT WORK!
One of the best draft formats in a long time. Season of renewal loops with Skyturtle: chef’s kiss
Thank you for acknowledging the art direction challenges of abstract card game mechanics. It's tough! Gotta deal with that a lot on deckbuilding games.
You got the loop! Skydurdle of Renewal was very much not a joke in this hilariously value-oriented set.
I'll be the guy to point out Graham saying Fall of Lord Konda costs blue mana.
Came to the comments to see if someone pointed that out
@@GaryX2k3 You and me both.
I imagine Kamigawa has some great street sushi.
The NEO Invocation cycle is so awesome. They're like monocolored Ultimatums: extremely tough to cast, but with really cool and splashy effects. I just wish they had been willing to push them all as hard as they did Black.
The artwork of Discover the Impossible is so beautiful. It's my phones screensaver :)
The black invoke is still banned in standard as kamigawa didnt rotate out as it wouldve in the past.
So glad you pulled Discover The Impossible and liked the art too! It's my favorite art from the set. I liked it so much I got an artist signed playmat of it.
I love that this series is a way for me to see what has happend while I have been away from Magic for 20 years.
Ive Never been more seen, you really are on my second monitor
As someone who is currently working with this on the second monitor... I feel seen
Making the art a top down shot of a man in a canoe for a card named "Discover the Impossible" is just asking for someone to make the joke that I'm just now making by refraining to actually spell it out any further.
"I'm behind a tab! Or work!" Oops, called me right out there.
A pack cracking a week keeps the filing cabinet clean.
You're right about the card quality, if you take a stack of these cards and knock on them with your fist you get a very particular sound
8:10 "two and a blue," is a white spell, lol
love to see a turtle winning 🐢
I made a standard deck on Arena that used Invoke Justice to bring back stuff like One With the Multiverse and other big enchantments as early as turn 4. Collossal Skyturtle was the primary win condition. Somehow it never occured to me to put a single copy of Season of Renewel in there for infinite value.
Mukotai ambushed made it into my twobert cube. The artifact deck likes another artifact, and the aggro deck likes a creature it can cheat in for being aggressive. Bonus value is that abyssal persecutor is in the cube, and ninjitsu is a way to get off the battlefield so your opponent can lose.
Graham, every tuesday, youre on my main monitor while Im freshly showered after gym and drinking a big choccy milk
I still fuckin' love this set. I ended up buying two boxes of this, fully drafted one in Winston with my wife, half-drafted the other straight after. We're saving the other three drafts for a rainy day(s).
Sadly I did not need to open many other eras of packs to know the quality of card and print is dire.
I wonder if this is the same card quality differences we keep seeing even now constrasting the Japanese printers vs those done in the US?
Wonderful set for limited! Pity that every time I see it, I’m hit with a PTSD episode from being locked down in China not long after this set released.
I got 3 invoke despair in a prerelease kit. Luckily for everyone else my pool didn’t really support black otherwise.
I normally watch these on my double monitor computer where I do my work. This time I was watching on my phone. So the one I would be called out, I managed to avoid it. Weird.
LET SECOND SCREEN GRAHAM FREEEEEEEEEEE
I really like Invoke Justice, but it's hard to find a place for it because of the 4 white pips
Wait, did Graham just talk to me directly? Oh wait, no it's ok he was on my _third_ monitor :P
Look at this algorithm
My friend is a big fan of mecha anime and he says Invoke Justice might be a reference to Gundam Seed, as its opening theme is called "Invoke" and one of the mechs featured in it is Justice Gundam. Was it intentional? I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it was.
I also have not seen Mokutai Ambusher before. What the hell?
Engagement!!!!
I really hate that they keep shortening game terms just so they have more space to cram other abilities onto a card.
En ingles?!
I think this was the first set where I started actually being annoyed by just how many printings there were of all of these cards.
ua-cam.com/video/pBKWhu0ofD4/v-deo.html Road Quest Kamigawa when?
You know... I never understood how Kamigawa went from a Feudal Japan themed Plane to an almost Cyberpunk Japan Plane... I can't imagine it's been that long in universe since the original block's story...
If I'm remembering the lore correctly, OG Kamigawa Block was set in the in-universe past, kinda Brother's War. Basically, even though it came out between Mirrodin and Ravnica, it's story happened way before either of those sets' stories.
Neon Dynasty happened canonically more than 1200 years after Champions block.
It has been more than 1,200 years between the two sets.
Original Kamigawa was specifically an origin of the original Umezawa, since at the end of the story he gets transported to Dominaria, and in previous lore Nicol Bolas had ruled over Madara, which was originally settled by that Umezawa, and why Tetsuko Umezawa was on Dominaria centuries later.
wow that was not a lot of value, this set must have been opened into the ground (and you got unlucky)
