Rane 4 is so much nicer than the FLX-10. I’ve had both. Got rid of the FLX-10 because it is not a Serato 1st controller. The R4 is slightly larger then the FLX-10
If Rane comes out with a device on the level of the Denon SC 5000m SC 6000m usb and hard drive, WiFi, etc. and a mixer on the level of the Rane 68 but an updated version of that mixer with those pads and paddles. Not a fan of the Pioneer's recent products. Reloop is one to watch out for in 2024. But that is just my opinion, God if Vestax and Technics were in this product war, there would be some serious choices.
I've been gigging with the Rane Four since it came out earlier this year. You're definitely right about it being big and heavy (bigger than most Pioneer standalones, weighs 40 lbs with a flight case), and the other ding against it for me is the jog wheels which are unnecessarily weighted (they feel heavy like a turntable with no slipmat). But if these things are not deal-breakers, in return you get the toughest built controller on the market with great onboard fx using paddle controls and more dedicated stem controls than any other controller while not feeling cramped. I previously came from both a Pioneer RX2 and Traktor S4 but specifically wanted to move to Serato. I wanted to like the FLX10 but ended up preferring the Rane Four layout, especially having dedicated controls for stems (I know you can assign these functions on the FLX10, but it's not as intuitive and you don't get 4-channel stem split).

Being that Rane just discounted the Rane One to $1299, I think your prediction is right on the money and coming sooner than we think. I still think it will be the same Rane one 7” platters (no screen) battle style with hardware fx, stems integration, and scratch bank.
We seriously need from Pioneer or Rane or Reloop, a battle mixer that supports STEMS, or at least a switch to decide if the knobs have to work in analog or digital (as pure controller). We also need a send/return FX. We could potentially make miracle remixes in real time, but our Pioneer RMX1000 (for example) only works on the final output of the master. Actually we have all the technologies we need, but never on the same mixer...we not asking too much...hope somebody will hear my voice :(((
Yorkville already has two battery powered subs (haven't heard them myself just yet but I hear good things). What I am hoping for/want is Rane to come out with an Engine loaded mixer that works standalone or with Serato.
I was excited for Bose when the announcement came out. What a miss. I’m guessing they felt comfortable in the market and had the new one in the works before Evolve 8 came out. Ended up a total miss.
I had the Pioneer flx10 & the Rane 4 I sold the flx10 it felts so cheap the Rane 4 work better with Serato and it's a better quality the Rane 4 is still smaller than the pioneer sz & xdj xz

My informant told me that they will have a Rane Four with motorized platters just like that with everything else it has (on board effects, stems controls , etc) … the motorized platters being the ones that are on the Denons SC6000 M!!!! Which are 8.5 inches wide!! … damn that’s it! They will kill it like that for sure!! 💯🫡
The foundation of what I do is still with my Traktor S4 mk3 and I would FREAKING GO CRAZY if Native came out with something to compete with Pioneer and Rane, but that shit just aint happening. But life is still good though cause I got me a SM-7 and a CRSS-12 to pair up with my PLX-1000, so I'll be playing falling back in love with my vinyl and re-learning Serato (really looking forward to getting down with Stems). I don’t like the mixer knobs, very tight but not much else to complain about. It works quite well. It’s value is questionable since Rane One’s are getting close to $1k on sale and unlocks Serato Pro.
@@cduemig1 the knobs are tight, I noticed just recently changing the mats changes the marker if i try to back spin doesn’t match up so beat jugglin doesn’t seem too work. Even with butter rugs. And I can’t seem to adjust the volume faders like the rane one does with deck contour
@@iamdjmaze I don’t beat juggle so can’t comment on that. I’ve seen people say it can drift when scratching. I don’t do crazy scratch routines so has been fine for me. Butter rugs really evened out the decks. On was too tight and the other was pretty good. With the rugs they’re pretty darn even which is funny because the issue wasn’t the mats but the record holder springs pulling it down too hard. Still not a bad piece of gear. I like people are changing the crossfader and volume faders but still don’t like the knobs.
I got a pair of 1000wh battery power stations and it’s completely replaced my generator. Each one can power my whole system for 5-6 hours. Wouldn’t by a battery speaker since I have that ability already. They cost $400 each and have seen others even cheaper.
How about column array speakers like Evolve 50. Shit!! Anything better coming up in your great wisdom. Love the white look for weddings, but they lack sound. How about DB Technologies ES1203. What's your take, on stackable column speakers. IG2T, IG3T, and IG4T as well. Thanks Nick you are the G.O.A.T.!
Well, your prediction for the PLX-1100 from over a year ago was pretty closely materialized into the PLX-CRSS12. Kinda LOLing at the Rane predictions. I have no idea. Rane, no longer exists. Now it's just a brand name owned by inMusic. If they had their head screwed on straight, and they saw how eBay prices for original USA made Rane MP2015s are selling for over $5000, used, maybe they would try to do something with what was one of the few (only?) mixers certified for both Serato and Traktor? I couldn't care less about their controllers. tbh, I think Grandmaster Flash was trying to put the nail in the coffin to two channel battle mixers with the Empath being 3 channel, and that every deejay seemed to have missed The Message on that one, we're still suffering for to this day. Reloop would probably be wise to ape the PLX-CRSS12 no need for control vinyl feature. To be honest, when I first bought an RP-8000 back in 2014, I thought that was what it already did until I got it out of the box and realized the "Serato" accessory just meant that the pads were automatically mapped in Serato. From my vantage, the ƎLITE mixer from Reloop is actually better than an S9, and unlike an S9 (or most newer mixers) didn't need any driver to be installed, Serato automagically "just worked" with it as it was. Unfortunately, the ƎLITE, like the S9 only has a 24bit 48KHz max. ;-/ So audiophile sorts who care about 32bit 384KHz (which is what Record Industry in The Netherlands allows for their DMM mastered vinyl) or higher bitrate lossless audio are still SoL, but that is true for more or less all low grade "battle" oriented mixers anyway; few low end audio interfaces ever do better than 24bit 96KHz; just deejay gear seems to charge astronomical prices for the lower quality. And yes, I can hear the difference, sucks to be me I guess. The EV battery powered speaker I haven't used, but I was pleased as punch years ago with an ION (another brand owned by inMusic) Survival Scout. Not as high powered as their Solar Rocker I guess, but weather resistant, built in (replaceable) battery, bluetooth (boo hiss, seriously even SKAA, which is lower latency than BlueTooth, is still higher latency than Starlink satellites hundreds of miles away in low Earth orbit; I will NEVER take wireless audio seriously and I used to work for a company which probably had the *first* wireless HDSDI dongles for live streaming and they were also problematic, to understate it). Regardless, it was a 20W < $100 speaker so I couldn't get too upset at it. Was it audiophile grade? Hell no, but chances are nothing else with built in batteries and weather resistance (and there are a TON of options on the market and there have been for years) is going to be incredible sounding, so much as utilitarian.

A few of us seem to be on the same page...a 9 or 10" version of the 12s. Perhaps a cheaper alternative without all the bells and whistles for those with mixers that have it all already.
I hope Pioneer makes a 10inch motorized deck with a large touch screen. Similar to SC6000m but compatible with Serato pro. More along the lines of Rane 12 but smaller, lighter easier to travel. Great option for a DVS Serato user, no tonearm or RCA should cut costs. USB out, USB into the mixer strictly digital.

Totally down for this. I’m a column array guy and love my Bose but it’s got some flaws. I’d love a serious competitor. Love to try the Maui’s but no where to try them.

Denon isn’t releasing anything beyond controllers. They tried festivals they failed. Not opinion.

That was what I was hoping with the Rane4. I had a pair of SC5000m’s and loved them but it was too bulky.

Hercules Inpulse T7 runs pretty smooth for being a $700 controller with moving platters.
