Buffs had a great team that year. They just ran into what may be the 2nd greatest college team in the history of things happening.
Behind the '95' Nebraska team of course.

I'd say the 1994 Huskers team was good, but personally, I wouldn't categorize them as "great.". They had a higher level of resiliency than most teams I've witnessed. Having to play and win games with a third-string quarterback speaks volumes.

Keith Jackson “It is a sea of red and it is a sea that is difficult to part.” That guy was so good.

That Husker team had so many offensive (and defensive) weapons, how could you possibly defend against? Pure joy to watch them. Also, the sportsmanship by both teams was impressive. That's long gone.

Watching all these great old games I never remembered the Huskers throwing so much. I always remember 3rd and 10 being an option to the short side of the field. And I still say Charlie McBride was a defensive genius. He could take anyone out of their game.

Crushing CU with second string QB Brooke Berringer no less (rest his soul).

Wow, they really beat up Kordell Stewart the entire game. And look at Tom Osborne letting up at the end. Classic.

Good reasons to bring back the F.B. Position.

CU would have won the National Championship in '94 if they had beaten NU. Two great teams at the same point in time. Somebody had to lose...

Watching this nearly 30 years later thinking “these teams used to be fierce conference rivals, now the only time they’d ever play each other would be in the Rose Bowl”

Are you a fan of Jarvis Redwine… or is that actually you?

Darrin Erstadt is so clutch: the punting disparity was a factor.

Nebraska must have been pretty good, because Colorado was stacked on offense.

This was probably coach Mac’s best team at CU. Unfortunately, that NE team in that stadium was bad timing.

I miss the days when all the power wasn’t vested in the same two teams every year.

As a Penn State fan, it's a real shame this game didn't result in a tie.

I always looked at Penn State going undefeated and not winning the national championship in 94 was payback for 1982 and the infamous "completed" pass out of bounds... WAY out of bounds. 😊

was devastated as a kid with this game. after the magic of Michigan and Texas this felt like their time to figure out the kryptonite of Nebraska once and for all. Wasn't to be. Awful.

And, ironically, was the year that Nebraska finally figured out how to beat a Florida school in a bowl game.

I believe this was coach Mac’s best team at CU. But that NE team in that stadium was too much.

I don't understand why when Colorado finally scored, they didn't go for 2. You're not gonna score 3 more times in a quarter when you've scored once in 44 minutes: go for 2 and get it and you only need to score twice (still tough, but less difficult.)
