It’s interesting where they talk about the moment they lost themselves to The Smiths. For me, I was a sophomore more in high school. My sister had just come back from her first year in university and I asked her what new music I had to listen to. She said without a moment’s pause, “Hatful of Hollow.” I immediately went to our local record store, which didn’t have it (it was an import, and it took me over a year to find, pre-internet days as they were). But they did have “Meat is Murder,” as that had just been released. By 4 bars into “Rusholme Ruffians” I was gone forever. A life changing moment!

I had two Smiths posters on my bedroom wall. One was the1986 "Gannon" poster. I recall thinking "who is that guy?" Graig Gannon was responsible for a handful of riffs on the late 86-87 singles.

Howard Jones sang about animal slaughter on "Assault and Battery" from the 85 album "Dream Into Action. I seem to remember Morrissey acknowledge this in an interview.

"The faaaans will say 'The Queen is Dead'". Will they? Cite your sources. I'd say 'Meat is Murder'. Nobody polled me. Which in some ways I'm very grateful for, in many other ways I feel intense rejection for.

And this interview is from 2010 it would have been 2 yrs after M&M met in that pub to discuss getting back together, but that never came to fruition...

Everyone knows Craig Gannon was hired around Andy Rourke's drug problems?

“There was a very obscure band called Mott the Hoople…”. What? Mott the Hoople was an “obscure” band? Really? Or was that just British sarcasm that went over my head…?

Ok interview. Little to nothing said about what the band were like in the studio and how they were amongst each other, other than Andy and his addiction. Yawn.
