  • Welcome to Subaru School with Tyson the Subaru Specialist! In this lesson I will teach you how to disable the drivers seatbelt chime. Subaru built in a way to disable the chime and I find that it's exceptionally loud and intrusive even when I'm just moving vehicles around the lot!
    There are a multitude of reasons that you may want to disable the chime.
    If you have an idea that you'd like to see covered in a future Subaru School Lesson, please put it in the comments below and I'll do my best to cover it!
    Did you receive some value from this video? Help keep me 'hydrated' and making Subaru content: buymeacoffee.c...
    ****Disable the chime at your own risk. I take no responsibility for anything that happens if you disable the chime.****

    Outstanding Tyson! Thank you, now if you can show me how to “DISABLE DRIVER MONITORING” permanently as I have to do this every time I start my 2023 Outback XT - that would be absolutely awesome!💯🤩👍🏽👍🏽

      If I figure out a way to do that, I'll do a short video on it!
      It currently stays off in the other vehicles that I've tested it in, but I don't have a 2023 Outback available to test on.

      Unfortunately, I do not know of a way to disable or reduce the sensitivity. Your local dealership may be able to change it in the background settings that technicians have access to.

    Is this a permanent thing? Or does it have to be done after each time starting out on a drive. When my wife and I are driving, she (in the passenger seat), sometimes unclicks her seat belt to reach for something in the back of the car. She then quickly puts the seat belt back on. The chiming is very annoying. If I use this method, will I hear any chiming when she does this?

    • @TysonTheSubaruSpecialist
      @TysonTheSubaruSpecialist  23 дні тому

      Nope, it's a permanent thing. You'd have to do it on her seat and see if it stops the chime the same way that it does for the drivers side.

    On my 2024 Impreza, the initial lower volume seat belt chime is okay, however the second round is much louder. What is even more interesting, is that I set the car to P and set parking brake, the chime is still going, but why?!

    • @TysonTheSubaruSpecialist
      @TysonTheSubaruSpecialist  2 місяці тому +1
