Поділитися
Вставка
  • Опубліковано 27 вер 2018
  • This is a quick how to guide on disabling ANY seat belt chime on any model Subaru.
This includes both keyed and keyless models.
I can confirm this works on the following vehicles:
    2000-2004 Subaru Outback
    2005-2009 Subaru Outback
    2003-2006 Subaru Baja
    2015-2019 Subaru Outback
    1998-2002 Subaru Forester
    2003-2008 Subaru Forester
If this doesn't work on any Subaru vehicle PLEASE let me know in the comments and I will correct it.
At this time, I assume it works on all models.

It just worked on my 2023 wilderness. I wasn’t setting in the seat. I pushed the start button 2xs then clicked 20xs then turned car off. All while not sitting in drivers seat. Then pushed start and it worked. Took me most of the day trying to figure this out. You video and comments from others helped so much thank you!

Omg THANK YOU SO MUCH this chime was driving me crazy on my 05 Legacy 5speed. Got it on my first try too ☺️
I understand if it would chime when u realease the parking brake or start moving but it is ridiculous to go off every 10 seconds when you're just sitting there at idle!!

    Did i read correctly in one of the reply you have do all of the following in 0:30 seconds;
    press the button twice
Buckle and Unbuckle the Driver seat-belt 20 times
press the button one more time?
Or do you just need to do the buckle and un-buckle 20 times in 0:30 seconds?

So cool. My wish is that you make a video of how to Temporary remove A front passenger seat and keep the airbags intact a 2015 outback Limited
Subaru says this is not possible that it would turn off my airbags all together ???? Pretty Please. 💕🦋💜🙏

      This is an interesting project.
Subaru is "right" and there is an airbag in the seat.
My first thought is to disconnect the airbag connection at the seat and measure the resistance.
Then build a box to connect to the connection on the car using the correct ohms the car is looking for.
Since the seat folds flat I'm curious what you're putting there?

@@bruceyyyyy I sleep behind my passenger seat. I use the seat behind the driver to use as a hang out place in the rain, My CFX IM55 Dometic is in the back left side trunk. I also need room for my 100lbss German too sleep.

      Well, that makes sense.
The absolute whackiest way would be to remove the airbag from the seat and leave it connected.
I don't like that idea much though. In the event of an accident it would deploy into... Nothing.
But the resistance circuit box tricking the airbag computer into thinking it's there doesn't have this downside.

The fact that you started the "button start" Subaru vehicle at the beginning of your video throws me off. Later, when you hit the ignition button twice, you're not starting the vehicle, correct? If not, are you starting the seat belt lock/unlock (20x) procedure without starting the vehicle? Just before you started the actual 20x procedure, I could've sworn that I heard you say "Once your vehicle's started." Anyway, I performed the 20x procedure countless times -- while the vehicle was not running -- and ended up listening to that nightmare chime more than any human should ever have to! I swear to you, I was ready to start yanking anything I could get my hands on, underneath the dash, to stop that chime. Not only does it repeat forever, but it actually gets louder at a certain point! My God, we actually bought a car that wants to teach us a lesson... I really hope that I never cross their "Safety Design Engineer's" path!
