Christina & Tara, thank you for taking the time to prepare, produce and share this therapy dog series. I am the trainer for a local therapy fog non-profit, PAWS For Service, in San Antonio, TX. I think your series is so valuable and should be watched by everyone considering becoming a therapy dog team. The information was presented in such a concise and thoughtful manner. I will be sharing this series with our board members. Continued success in your endeavors. 💛💛💛
Hi Doug! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a nice comment. It really was so much fun for Tara and I to put this series together and it’s been a great resource to share with people when they ask questions. If we could get more amazing dogs out into the world serving and loving others, what a gift that would be. As you know, getting to volunteer with your pup and share them with others is probably one of the coolest experiences life has to offer. Your comment made my morning - I am sending you a huge hug! Thank you!!
Hi Christina and Tara! Thank you both so much for all you have done to show how to train our digs right to be a service dog or what you want to train it to do to help anybody out like the elderly or children. Thank you again so much for all you have done. How’s Nash? Give him a big hug for me. 🤗😘 Hugs to Sean too! And you too! 🤗
So glad you found these helpful Sherri!!! ☺️ It means a lot to us to share about how to get started since we found that to be the most confusing part! Nash is great!! Loving Montana and swimming a lot 😂
Boundless joy and infinite rewards for people and pets alike. One blessing after another. Thank you Christina and Tara! So, where are Nash & Luna? LOL! (Cute fix). Paws for Love amazing!
On the AKC site it says they recognize the following national therapy dog registration/certification organizations: Alliance of Therapy Dogs, Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs, Love on a Leash, Pet Partners, Therapy Dogs Incorporated, and Therapy Dogs International. I'm wondering if any of the organizations are more reputable or renowned. I'm so confused on which organization to choose. Any recommendations or thoughts? Thanks!
Thank you for your fantastic question! You are correct about all of those organizations; and they are all great too! At the end of the day, you should select one based on who you think will be great to work with and what type of volunteering you want to do. For example, ATD (Alliance of Therapy Dogs), runs most of the airport programs in the US. So if you wanted to go that route, you'd likely just be limited to using them. Best of luck with your search!
