    Ok I have only watched the first few seconds but you had me at hello. The flaming finger and hair in all seriousness has to be the best intro for any UA-cam video ever. This should be used as an exemplar for pure comic timing and if there are filmmakers out there wondering why that’s important then as an editor I can assure you that it’s a fundamental to making great films and if you can cut a scene that makes someone laugh then you can probably cut anything. Pure genius again from this channel and what’s astonishing is the content here is always of that incredible standard. Thx so much to all at media division.

    I'm not a pro, and I'm still impressed considering the price.
    But you didn't mention color ranges and accuracy. Not that it matter too much outdoors, but if I use it indoor, in some cases, might be important.

    • @MediaDivision
      @MediaDivision  2 роки тому +10

      As colors come up a lot, I will make a standard answer to this:
      It’s a production/field monitor. It is designed to offer good viewability in difficult situations.
      It is not designed to be a color reference display (as Atomos and SmallHD field monitors aren't either). Calibration only works if you are in controlled lighting situations as your eyes rebalance all the time… like you well know I suppose. Could you calibrate it? As it supports LUTs, you can use your preferred calibration tool to generate a correction LUT. Could you use it as a grading monitor? Sure. Would I use it as a grading monitor. Probably not. I rather use something that I expect my audience to view my content on... an Ultra HD Premium TV. Can't say much about color space coverage etc. other than what you'll find on the product website.

    A fantastic looking production monitor! Definitely on my future buy list, though I’ll probably pair it with a BlackMagic 12g SDI HDMI Bi-Directional Cross-Converter to act as a calibration LUT box if it doesn’t accept calibration LUTs separate from camera LUTs.

      It is not something I put in the “pleasant” category for sure… it is painful, it is a bit scary (during procedure), and the first night after is terrible. Everything, even a alarm clock is painfully bright. But, all in all it is not worse than a root canal if you had the pleasure of one of those. Takes a hour… Next day, you can see normally. If you need strong glasses before, it is a new world. With a bit of helo around light sources that dissapeared after 6 month. I would do it again.

      That is one of the “other” brands I mentioned we have in the studio. It’s ok with a hood, but this makes it so much easier to see it from all over the room. 4k really doesn’t make a difference in this context. You had to be under a meter close to differentiate pixels and even then you can clearly judge focus and details in “just” 1080

This 21.5" version looks impressive, but I'm disappointed Osee is still using those difficult to operate membrane control buttons, and that they haven't improved the wonky monitor stand mount (they wobble!). • @MediaDivision
      @MediaDivision  2 роки тому

      It is perfect to judge HDR signals in the field. As it supports LUTs you can create your own calibration LUTs, although, calibration only really makes sense in stable light conditions... aka NOT the field. If you are looking for a grading monitor... this is not it. If the specs don't fit your needs.... get something that suits your needs and wallet . Good luck
