- In this episode I show you my simple technique on how I make my fun and easy appliqué stocking shapes using my "Vintage Housewife"
set of Sew Simple Shapes.
I'm hoping you will find many uses for these fun stockings!
I'm using mine to make a quilt, bunting, tree ornaments & gift tags:)
I tell you all about them in this video!
Each month I am designing a new appliqué idea using different templates from my sets of Sew Simple Shapes and then each month here on my channel I'll show you how I put them together:)

Oooo...you could make the entire quilt in the shape of a ginormous stocking!!!
Like your idea a sewing them together in columns, then to sew the long, tall columns together, vertically; instead of the "usual" rows that are horizontal!
For the backing of a reversible tree ornament, love the idea of making one with the toe pointed the the other direction... & blanket stitching them together and love the buttons/yarn hangers!!!

I’m thinking that your stockings would be sew cute on a wreath with family names!
So adorable. I can't wait to start making them.
So I was thinking that if you wanted to have a two-sided stocking from the start, you could use two different fabrics and use the second piece of fabric instead of the interfacing and just saw them reversible with two sides. And then just turn them out and have everything reversible and done more quickly. Just a thought. I love these stockings I think they are so fun and I'm kind of thinking of doing some of these for my best friend and her mom this coming christmas. I already made the mug rugs for last Christmas so this would be a nice new thing to do.
these would be so cute in a baby quilt, make baby socks and add trim like ribbon, lace, ric rac, etc... to the top.

This would make a great bargello style quilt...a row of longs, then mediums, then shorts, then mediums again, then longs, etc.

I like that your stockings point to the left. That's the way I've always had them, but it seems like most stockings are starting to point to the right. I don't know why it matters to me, but it does! Thanks for your video.

hi Lori, i have been looking all over for the mug you have sitting next to your book keeper. the one with the patchwork blocks. could you please tell me what collection it is from? i have a growing set of your enamel mugs and despairingly want to add this missing one to my collection. i recently moved into a small cottage and have been decorating based on your fabrics and antiques from my mother. it is looking so adorable, i just love it. every place i look i see memories from my family. thank you so much for being such an inspiration for me.
