Having taught a&p for eight-ish years, I don’t feel that the veins of the gluteus maximus are even powerful enough to get a decent meal. By the time blood reaches the gluteal veins, it’s quite slow, not to mention those veins are rather deep. Yeah. I’m calling BS, you can’t eat ass that way, not even as a vampire.
Okay but that Red Room chapter butt scene was hilarious, but more importantly the way my soul left my body when he mentioned HER EYELASH FALLING OFF????? I died.
Okay the vampire thing, apparently there is a vein in groin or thigh (very close to the thigh) that has the purest blood in your body in the sense that it goes directly to your heart or some medical nonesense like that. I think guillermo del toro mentioned it in the strain too
@@weirdobookclub listen…. He is an assman (i did not type that out with a straight face it is a HILARIOUS concept) im shocked they didnt include period play though. Wasted potential

Just started really diving into dark romance, with little success in finding something that doesn’t make me want to *head desk*, I also just found your channel and definitely instantly subscribed. Your humor is my humor and makes these books less painful. Thank you for your service.
I have a second interview today for what would be my first real job after college graduation in May so I really needed some Natalie vibes!! Hope everyone is doing amazing ❤
Man, seeing Gothikana physically in Target was wild. Acknowledging the issues with the book (including the power imbalance, etc), I didn't hate the book, but uhhh it's not physical book with a special sprayed edges version material...
You… booped me…. I love you weirdo! Congrats on 7k plus! You’re the only UA-camr that truly makes me LOL so hard and loud. 😂 thanks for another good time 😏
I love dark romance's as long as they have an HEA, lol. I can't handle sad endings. If you liked There Are No Saints you might like marrow by Trisha Wolfe and Brynne Weaver.
I really wish dark romance would live up to its potential. On paper it sounds like the genre would be right up my alley. Unfortunately the execution is lacking nine times out of ten.
Your giddiness with the vampire books made me want to see deep dives of them both! Also, penpal by dathan auerbach is a creepypasta, but really good if you want something different ✨
Thank you for the referral to There Are No Saints! I tore through the duet in three days, it was the first dark romance I enjoyed. Your spreadsheet will be clutch!❤
I love anything by Karina Halle. She has some really good books. A good pirate one. A really fun sleepy hallow one. And spin offs of this blood orange series. Lolol
1:43 not me thinking of the OTHER book called penpal by Dathan Auerbach, which also has stalker but is NOT a romance and being shocked it was on this list before hearing the synopsis 🫠☠️☠️
13:38 honestly, i thought worse until you mentioned the chomp down on the gluteus. i thought she was on her period and his just having a good ol time with that. like my mind went there and and i was just huh???
Ended up getting a physical copy of Blood Orange because of this video because I too am weak for vampire romance. The Red Room scene had me clutching my pearlssss
13:52 if he had to bite somewhere not on the neck, it could have been in the inner thigh at the least since there’s a giant artery in the thigh unless the girl doesn’t die because biting the thigh and getting that artery even just slightly would kill her pretty quickly
The way you had me read blood orange and I came back to finish watching the video. I’ll be waiting for your review of the second book because the ending really bummed me out.
Ive watched your content for a few months now, (just learned I wasn't subscribed and thats a crime) and I just have to say that your personality, facial expressions, honest thoughts, and hilarious commentary keeps me coming back. And learning that you're friends with Reads with Rachel makes everything 10x better. Would love to see you lovely ladies at a book fest!!🖤📖🖤
I love that you persevered even through the ones that let you down. I usually get to a points of no return/DNF when immersion breaks for me. Also, I had to google Jacob's Ladder... that was not a fun time.
Even if i didn’t enjoy the book, I’d love to dismantle the Carving for Cara book after reading for thematic scrapbooking and to collage on top of. Let the least, er, awkward bits peek out around inspiration board images or writing journal glue-ins ETA: for ~certain types of writing of course
I love your video persona so much. If this is just you, 24/7 (or, uh... 12/7 I guess, since sometimes you have to sleep and uhh...stare blankly into the abyss) then you are just.... *Chef's kiss* Liked, subscribed, eagerly awaiting further Weirdo Book Clubbings.
I'm binge watching your videos and having so much fun! I feel like I'm talking to my best friend and sharing juicy gossip. you are so amazing Natalie! Love from Brazil
Great video! You're so fun to listen to. I downloaded a sample of your two faves because your description intrigued me even though I'm not usually an erotica or paranormal genre girly. So for me to even be interested in reading the sample is big. Love your videos! I think this counts as dark romance: you should check out All the Ugly and Wonderful Things
Your channel popped up for me today. I am glad it did! New subbie. I think you should read the Born Darkly duet by Trisha Wolfe. It has similar vibes to the Sinners duet by Sophie Lark. Loving your content❤
I’ve had a miscarriage, depending on how it was depicted it would’ve sent me spiraling to come across it randomly. And I’m mostly over it, can’t imagine what it would do to people who have multiple
i looove your videos so much, really! please keep up doing reviews, specially deep dives because i love hearing you talk for hours!! and also, you should read triple threat too, it's awful, you'll hate it

Penpal was the 6th Sense one? I didn’t like that one either… Blood Orange reminded me of that Arcana series, the one with the characters that were tarot cards and living through an apocalypse, but he’s a butt man, so overall I got Discovery of Witches too and if you’re going to the 2nd, I might too… Grimstone wasn’t on my radar, so might grab that too since There are no Saints was good… I skipped the Halloween, it was too silly in the blurb. Your review makes me think it’s Haunting Adeline satire, maybe? I’ll probably skip the last one. Good reviews! Congratulations on the subs. We will get you that UA-cam button. 🎉
As I am watching: 9K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ETA: deep dives on Blood Orange (tell me more about Valtu, pls 👀) or Pen Pal (what did this writer DO).
I wanted to like Blood Orange because Dracula is one of my favorite literary and movie characters but I can't get into books that are more smut than plot. 😅
Pen Pal was a horrible read! It made me so angry that the author chose to bait and switch us that I gave it a two star rating. I am all for plot twists and paranormal, but if you trick me because you'd rather "shock" me than tell me flat out what the trigger warnings are, it's going to ruin my entire reading experience. I don't have many triggers, but I like to know what I'm getting into. And the fact that the author chose this path and then used schizophrenia, miscarriage.. it's just really disgusting!
I was mildly enjoying Pen Pal and even enjoyed the “supernatural” aspect but was immediately turned off when the demonization of schizophrenia happened and is what made me drop my rating down to a 1 star
I came across this series on Facebook called the All Saints High series by LJ Shen (specifically the fourth book, Damaged Goods) and the little excerpt it provided has me convinced it's one of the worst books (series) ever. So, this isn't a recommendation, just throwing it out there if anyone like to hate read dark romance or just in general. I can't find anyone talking about it, but I've flipped through it, and it's pretty cringe.
My only gripe is that you called "grey" the "wrong version" of the word? Both are acceptable spellings, so I wouldn't be concerned unless they spelled it something particularly egregious like "groy".
“Write a better book then”

When it comes to color, I thought it was just American (gray) vs British (grey) English based on the definition. Is there more to them than that?
Right?! I’m questioning everything. I honestly switch which way I spell it every time cause I have commitment issues
I think that’s it but since I don’t think she is British (and I know I’m not) it was just odd to see lol
Canadians also use grey but I thought there was something specific for grey morality
I'm glad I got in on the ground floor of your UA-cam career but I'm frustrated I don't have a backlog of 200 hours of book rants to listen to.
