    Brilliant! Great video! I wish they had those models in the States. We only see the fishing ones which look much bigger and much heavier.

      Thanks again - I suspect they don't compete well price-wise against similar-sized models already available in the USA whence the distributor focuses on the models that have a great point of difference. The Nemo is great for surf play though, I would add some standard features and market it as a surf learning craft.

      Actually the Espri is a fishing one too but kind hybrid I would say. It's only 20kg (or 22kg) weight, the lightest of the fishing ones.

      @@7uciano actually was intended as a recreational sit on top kayak - fisherman decided to add rod holders so it became a fishing option...whilst it functions well as a basic or beginner fishing kayak it still lacks many features that would be there if it were intended to be a fishing kayak - the Profish 400 was actually modelled a lot off this kayak so you can see what it would look like if they were to go back to the design table. The next best option in similar weight but with better functions for fishing is the Profish 35

    How good are those Yaksin the surf!
    How does the Espri paddle compared to the GT? Looks like the Espri would cut through the water better. I am looking at getting something light and a bit easier to paddle.

      GT is a different beast to the espri so really no comparison. I have covered some really good info in the Espri review which will help answer your questions so check that out...in short though even though they are the same length as one another the espri hull shape is alot sleeker through the water so if your buying a kayak for the paddling aspect of it the Espri wins that decision

    Your friend have a Leash knee to kayak. Works Good, no injuries?.I bought a knee Leash , Dakine calf longboard 9’6” 4/16for my RTM mojito, to do surf, is a Good idea? Thanks

    • @PaddleGuy1
      @PaddleGuy1  2 роки тому +1

      Definitely not a surf knee leash, we use thigh braces to give greater control in the surf, explained in the video below. Leashes should only be attached from your paddle to your kayak, never to yourself. Watch this ua-cam.com/video/Sn4rt2CA7hc/v-deo.html

    What are those straps you use to hold your legs bro? Where can I buy it?

    • @PaddleGuy1
      @PaddleGuy1  3 роки тому +1

      Thigh braces - google them in your local area - but if you can't find them this video explains them and where to get them ua-cam.com/video/Sn4rt2CA7hc/v-deo.html

      @@PaddleGuy1 Are you using something else? I saw you putting your feet on something like a support or "pedals"?!?

    • @PaddleGuy1
      @PaddleGuy1  3 роки тому

      @@7uciano I have the foot rests from the Profish models fitted to my Espri so as I can get better leg drive as the moulded foot wells don't offer enough purchase for leg drive in surf (or any real proper paddling technique for that matter) If you tall and your fee reach the end with a slight bend in the legs then you don't need them but if not then they are worth adding . easy enough for the crew at Matamata to do for you or follow this and do yourself www.vikingkayaks.co.nz/kayaking+info/how+to/footrests+for+espri+kayak
