    Many years ago I started with an Adana letter press printing machine, then bought an H85 Hot Foil Machine which I eventually sold a few years ago, however, being I am now semi retired I am looking to start up printing again as I am waiting for a Scandinavian log cabin to be built for the purpose of printing, the printer you have been demonstrating looks absolutely ideal so thank you very much for a very good demonstration.

      You’ll have to show us that creator award when you get it! Well deserved I might add.

    Thank you for the video! For hot foil stamping, can I laser cut a stamp/die out of silicone rubber? I make a lot of very short-run items and looking to quickly make my dies and merge that with hot foiling somehow. Silicone rubber can be laser cut/engraved and silicone rubber stamps have been used in hot foiling. Correct? Thank you!

    Would you post up some more info on the acetate sheets you used for this? I didn't see anything when following the links.

      Hi they are very good, I am sure if you phone Creative Printers they can let you know, that's where mine came from.

    Thanks for making this Harry. Just wondering what the minimum thickness of leather should be to get a good deboss and foil effect?

    Harry, do you know which font size the CPL brass type letters were that you used in the video please? Kind regards,Susan

    Harry.....Your acetate needs to have grid lines on it the you can see that you can get work parallel to the type.....

    Does the machine have a facility for the foil to be fed onto a spool which automatically moves along, without having to place a piece of foil on what you require to print as this would be time consuming on multiple runs.

    • @harryrogers
      @harryrogers  Рік тому +1

      Hi it has spools for the foil...you need to move it along by hand.

    • @carrington2158

      @@harryrogers Thank you Harry, it is a shame because on multiple runs such as business cards it would be more time consuming to move along by hand, otherwise I would have ordered one.

    The video did make me think of a question, though not quite on topic. You mentioned veg tanned leather as being softer, and that got me wondering what sorts of processes make leather harder or softer. I have a really nice set of wood handled chisels that have leather pads in between the handle and the base of the chisel blade, and after chopping some rather large mortices though oak and hickory, the leather bit on my 3/4" chisel split and fell out. I replaced it with some scrap that I had on hand, but it's fairly soft (I don't know what kind of tanning process, I just bought scraps from a surplus store) and I notice it starting to give already. Do you have any recommendation for a leather to use in this application? I'd like to not have to take the handle off too many times and have the tang get loose in the hole.

    • @harryrogers
      @harryrogers  3 роки тому

      A piece of medium to firm temper veg tan should do the job.

    A little trick, no matter if you use your logo, write a person's name on a personalized product or you want to print a flower, a horse or whatever, under the skin puts a 2 or 3 mm cardboard, you will see the difference
