Neil Young

Is there no hope for us?

This is the only way CBC can get viewers...
Beautiful vocal, trumpet is totaly stupid to play the main phrase
Needs more harmonica
empty
I read comments and i realize how much tastes can differ because to me this is genuinely AWFUL. strange world i guess.....
I totally agree with you. I've scrolled and scrolled down these comments and just don't understand them. The vocal is very amateur and the muted trumpet player is just awful.
In the Wikipedia you can read this young Lady is daughter of Ethiopians immigrated in the '80. She is herself from July 2,1995.
I appreciate her sweet voice, she sings in tune, with something trying to be expressive enough. But is it really, to sing this song of Neil Young ?
I heard the song in '74, as I was living in South America. I cannot agree with the intro on the piano, that is sounding so heavy. Neil doesn't play piano like that. On the guitar, the percussive manner of playing the chords, that characterises the rhythm of this song, is however not heavy like the piano in the beginning of this performance.
I prefer hear to the original record, that was let on the machines in February 1971, or to Neil now, in all opportunities, rather to this young Lady, despite her good will.
It is precised in Wikipedia that she sang this song by the Canadian Songwriters' Hall of Fame Ceremony, when he was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame. All right. I don't know what he considers himself about it, but I prefer Neil's interpretation.
It's funny because I actually loved the beginning so much. It was so beautiful in a dark way that when it became lighter I got disappointed a bit, but that specific part of the piano was, I guess, all they could do on this song. It was so beautiful that it overshadowed the whole song for me, and I loved the original for many years now. Not as many as you have but still❤🤘
That bendy, drunken, Norah Jones-type singing is so unappealing to me. Neil was rough and rugged, but still way more palatable than this.
Sorry u can not duplicate Neil young I don’t care who he is sad to see she altered it
I think Neil would be happy to see people sharing/playing his music. It sounds like you're a fan of Neils, try to live by the words in his songs a bit more.
johny cash is the original one
@@mizobazar6261 its neil young. Off his album Harvest
@@mizobazar6261 I'm not sure what you're talking about. Neil Young wrote this song and released it in his 1972 Havest album. James Taylor and Linda Rondstat we're back up singers. Many other artist since covered it including Cash on his 200e Unearthed box set.
Passenger's is better
Who the f. cares?
Passengers version is complete and utter shite.
@@patrickobrien5887 Don't remember asking
she's operating on 50% level....lame
Vocals disappointing.
I didn't want to say it but you did....
Weird. I enjoyed the vocals but didn't really care for the overall musical arrangement. Different strokes I guess.
no.
she has a gorgeous voice
Beautiful
Nice
