    My Toys R Us Hello Kitty guitar with 20 year old strings sounds perfectly fine, thank you very much.

    A good trick for getting rid of the spring noise for the Floyd is to use a old guitar string to pull some foam through the springs.

    Awesome video bro!
    I never record quad guitars, how to you pan them? I usually pan my 2 tracks at -35 and +35.
    I’d love to see a video of how you mix your guitars in a track!
    Thanks for the advices!

      Depends on how wide you pan the rest of your mix (like vocals), but I'm personally a fan of not quad tracking :) Just doubles sounds bigger from my experience.

    When recording Active pickups for MetaL do you use the “Line” or “Hi-Z” setting?

    • @ianmartin2924
      @ianmartin2924 3 роки тому

      Hi-z. Instrument cables (TS/Tip+Sleeve) are hi impedence signals. XLR and TRS cables (Tip+Ring+Sleeve) are Line level inputs.
      You should take care to match the impedence correctly. If you need to convert hi impedence (Hi-z) into line level, you can do this with a DI box. Although, most amp modellers these days do it for you; if you own one.
      Hope that helps.

    New strings ehh?!!
    I hate new strings for about a week, but I change them on Wednesdays for weekend gigs (otherwise they go flat too often). I also don't give half a f about "wood" in an electric guitar anymore (as long as its not basswood or something too soft for the hardware bolts) but if you wanna talk about; pickups, speakers, compression, mics and mic placement then I'm all ears til the day I die!!

    Great video man, knowledge at its best!!
    over the year i´ve met the the same problem i cant achieve a decent tone; i´ve tried a lot of tutorials, videos, a lot of ways and i cant recognise what im doing wrong...
    im currently using a solar A.16 guitar and sitll not even aproacch the 50% of your quality tones...i use a DI to a normal input of a focusrite saffire pro 40 interface, and man....i cant get it; and that make me fell so dumb...any tip or advice?

    Kirk hammet tried to learn guitar and his amp was made from a shoebox so the quality does matters but the technique and passion matters more

    Apart from all the facts you stated, 70% tone lies in a player's hand.
