Rock wool has a better sound blocking performance than closed cell but open cell blocks sound better. But spray foam is continuous and rockwool could have gaps that degrade that performance. I think it might be cheaper to pay for more thicker foam than to sheathing it for sound blocking performance Assuming the sheathing isn't necessary for the siding/roofing materials.
Yes. thank you. I like the r sheathing for the thermal break reasons. The spray foam option is a coordinated event. For us seems to make sense to do our walls that way sense we are spraying the roof as well.
