    Looks great. I have a ‘71 LS5 with SS gauges that I’m doing a frame-off stock restoration on. I did the same process on mine and am pretty happy with how it came out. I see someone commented about the turn signal, brake light, and high-beams circles being kept black vs chrome. Not a lot of people realize that detail and it’s definitely not self-evident but it’s one of those things that sets certain cars apart from the rest.
    I’ve used several of your videos to assist me in my own car’s restoration. Thanks for posting!

      One other picky detail...The words “washer wiper” above the wiper switch are supposed to be leafed as well if I’m not mistaken.

      The word “lighter” above the cigarette lighter should be leafed too.

    Perfect - thanks. I just did the same on a 1969 Buick Le Saber. Makes a world of difference. Thanks a lot for making this video!

    That detail really brings the dash to life, doesn't it? You said something about it not being perfect, little secret, it wasn't perfect from the factory either. Looks great though. Merry christmas!

    Looks great! I was hoping you'd mess up at some point so you could show us how to clean it up if it gets somewhere wrong.

    Dash looks great. Thanks for the video. One question, I thought the 4 small holes (turn signals, high beam indicator and brake light) around speedometer weren’t outlined in silver??

    I always enjoy your videos but do you have a trick to restore the area around where the radio knobs go that everyone used to grind off to put in an oversized modern-at-the-time radio? I think probably several people have run into this problem and would like seeing any ideas.Thanks for your help and keep on rebuilding

    • @chriscraft77022
      @chriscraft77022  4 роки тому

      those retro sound new radios have tabs so if your holes are cut out... the radio doesn’t use the factory holes to mount... check them out

      @@chriscraft77022 Thanks for the info but I was planning to install a period correct radio mostly for looks but my plans may change and go modern My son has a 72 chevelle and I am doing a 70 SS and a 71 Heavy Chevy Thanks again

      I was too at first but that modern old style radio is legit and they lowered it like $180. It was $300 for a long time.. no repairs I know that’s why I saved that good radio hole dash .. I’ve had it for 18 years

    I'm restoring a 70, elcamino...... what do you think about this silver rubbing off while cleaning the dash for let's just say on a regular basis and a show? in your opinion do you think that it might rub off with the chemicals in cleaning supplies? not knocking you at all, just curious of the longevity as I go through a similar build right now and don't wanna get caught with my pants down later, your thoughts are greatly appreciated since you've done this and I haven't. oh! hey! merry Christmas to you and your family Chris craft😆👍
