thanks half way in I knew I had messed up by tackling this project lol but I was too far in to put back together and get a bypass mod lol

Wow, striping tape should not remove paint. That was obviously not prepared or painted correctly.

yeah most likely thats what happen but its going to have to work for now lol. after the touch up It looked pretty good and too be honest a banged it around installing it on my own and it didn't chip or anything. so it should hold up for a few years I hope

Why wouldn't you have just taken it out to paint it, prolly took just as much time to tape it
