I was born and raised in Chicago, but after working 12 years in the financial Industry regulating the futures and options markets at the CME/CBOT I decided to pursue my passion fishing professional tournaments and left my full time corporate job. At that point, I moved to Junction City, WI with my wife Sara and two boys Hank and Duke. I've been fishing professionally since 2011 and full-time since 2015. I've qualified for seven MLF Championships and won over a half million in tournament winnings at the professional level.
Matt love the ‘live’ review approach. I’d love to see this become a de facto approach to new product videos. It’s so much more meaningful to hear an experienced anglers true thoughts as they use a new product/tactic for the first time. Love the way you relay your thoughts as you get the feedback. I know you’ve done a few of these recently and it’s great. Keep ‘em coming, it’s all about evaluation and working out if a new product is going to add something to the Arsenal and your vids really help. Still tuning in regularly from here in the UK regards Brian

I really enjoyed watching you fish a crank bait. I know how good the can be on the river, but I’ve yet to crack the code using them. I feel like I just need to dedicate some day’s throwing them exclusively

That seems to be one of the keys to mastery of any fishing technique. I've heard that over and over from guys that are total hammers - "pick a day, or several days where THAT is the only thing you fish"... be it a crankbait, jerkbait, swimbait...whatever.

I bought a couple of these after watching the video and some hover rigs from tackle warehouse.
When buying your items is it best to use baitwrx? I usually stream videos on a tv through Roku so the links aren’t accessible.
I thought the crank was interesting not having a split ring on the line tie. Do you think adding a split ring would help or hinder this bait?

How does snapping the line free a snag?
It gives a sudden backward movement to the bait that CAN...SOMETIMES dislodge the hook or let a bait like this float out from between rocks.
It will make it back up

The TW description says no split ring, but one is recommended, what do you recommend to use with the crank?

I'll check it out- I definitely need some snag-less cranks- I fish a lot of spillways, and they're full of snags. So are all these little creeks and rivers around me- if you fish here, you get used to losing stuff and getting over it. It makes you less shy about throwing your bait into the thick stuff though- you're used to it.

Back in the late 80s early 90s there was a crankbait called the timber tiger that had a shape that allegedly was snagproof. I still have one. Dont remember it snagging... never caught me a fish😅
It was SO snagproof that you couldn't even snag the fish! 😆

You mentioned that is doesn't feel like it is pulling hard when you are retrieving it. I think that seems to be the case with most (at least eh ones I have tried) of Duo Realis crankbaits. They don't seem to fight you on the retrieve. Thanks for the video, I can't wait to try this one.

That is a nice looking crankbait! And if it comes through lay down to that well. I could see use for that. Man the Smallmouth are hammered on the river right now to good catching a load of them on a crankbait so this is right up my alley

I've noticed that about some Japanese cranks, they are designed not to pull back on you like some other's. Like a MB deep x 600 is fairly easy to reel I'll have to check these out. I've been super pleased with the quality of duo Realis
They make great cranks!
As opposed to the 13 Jabber Jaws. The first time I retrieved one of those I thought I'd gotten it fouled and was dragging it in sideways. Effective bait though!
