Been using Sonnax parts since the early 90's. Their entire goal is to fix issues. Have spoken to Gregg Nader a few times about issues and solutions. They are are a great company, can't wait to get my hands on one of these units.
This idea was first manufactured by John Kilgore with his Super Lite turbo 400. He built these for well over 20 years that I know of. He has been a one man show and I see the Sonnax is an improvement for sure but it is not their idea but certainly a method of contering the heavy rotating wieght of the turbo 400.
Hi Sean . I appreciate your videos. Thanks for this one on the sonnax smart-tech drum module . I just bought one for my next build . I agree completely with your take on speedmaster79. God bless you and your family.
I’ve been giving that unit a lot of consideration. By the time you buy all the individual aftermarket drums and components you’re nearly there. This looks like a better alternative. Looking forward to your next video on it.
Do a video on a 400 manual shift street and strip, no trans brake. What's needed, release springs, holes that needs drilled, plugged etc. Say around 7 or 800 hp.
I've wanted one since Alex Taylor put one in her car, making well over 2500+ hp. You have to show us the final assembly with you putting the transmission together. I know you have several videos of you doing just that but one more want hurt.
To me, it really is worth it to have somebody on the other end that knows their stuff. Wrong answers, flatulence and staff that doesn't know where to begin generating a work order? That's what the phone company is for.
Speedmaster sometimes get it right, my ProComp heads on my 455 oldsmobile work just as good as the Edelbrock heads. Had them on there for years with no troubles. They do copy other companies products with cheap China aluminum. It did save me a couple of dollars, so I took the risk. Something rotating near my legs, don't think I would take a chance.
Sonnax sent me those tiny catalogs for the upgraded th400 parts. Do you have a list for possible 750-800 wheel hp upgraded parts I should order? Thanks sir
Is the company Speedmaster? I can't read it. By the way, I've watched most of your videos at least 3 times, you do a great job. You just answered my question on the company. Your right, it's a crap shoot when you buy from them.

Thanks Shawn sooooo much for taking time out for us less knowledgeable ones that are learning still at 60 years old ... have a great day

The 36 element sprag comes from the 4T80-E trans. It's a pretty stock kind of part. Every Northstar caddy has one.

At least two mistakes in this one that I missed in editing, must be slipping!
I noticed one of them is the counter rotation speed of the direct drum in 1st gear!

I second this
Waiting for that beauty to come down in price.
That beard is killer pops

The thing is people will still buy off speed disaster then cry when shit hits the fan....

I just picked up a th 475 out of a motor home for my Monte Carlo was wondering how loud are the straight cut gears over the th400 gears
Sounds like a school bus, not bad. Check the end play of the planets, they are often wiped out.
Lol might have to take a trip to transmission shop and get em swapped out

I have a video titled 800-1000HP in the TH400 playlist. If you don’t find it let me know.

The sweetness of low price is gone long before the bitterness of poor quality.
