This guy got exactly what he wanted. No other inmates to be hassled by, his own private room with no cellie to touch his stuff. I think he used reverse reverse psychology.
Solitary ain’t no plus that’s for sure. He’s going to go mad in there and the guards are going to be treating him like shit. He still has to leave for an hour a day and be w the other inmates

Ive been waiting so long for a COURTROOM ANALYSIS!!!!
I think filing the appeal is actually part of the process needed before the sentence can be carried out and if it’s not granted then he has to still file like 3-4 more appeals or he can express his acceptance of the sentence to the appeals court to speed the process up, the way the death sentence “rules” go it’s not a fast process at all, and for him the best he can hope for is like 10-15 years or if he wants to drag it out it can go 20+ years before it’s carried out.

Spent 8 years in feds, they DEFINITELY do know who you are and your charge before you get off that bus...also, when there is a death penalty handed down, it's typically required that you attempt an appeal before they will set an execution date
I think he might be trying to "appeal" to purposefully submit a bad one and have it denied right away so that he can "speed up the process". he seemed sincere enough to me. a little psycho but sincere

I saw that shit in Indiana tho....I had too many questions, it seemed like such a bad idea. People in prison don't need another reason to kill a MF. You touch a man's animal in anger, that's like touching his kids. There will be consequences.
He's an older guy and death sentences can take 15 years or more to be carried out. There's a good chance that he'll die peacefully before being executed or by the time they execute him he would've been close to death anyway.
That judge reading the sentence had to give that prisoner goosebumps. Something in the Italian language that just sounds scary as hell versus plain English! Give this judge an award for most CHILLING SENTENCESZ WHEN SENTENCING PPL

Another one of the many reasons 23&1 is the best prison show in all of UA-cam and josh is the best content creator on the planet. NOT A LAWYER; if I understand correctly, Florida requires every person sentenced to death to go through the appeals process. To get around this properly as the defendant here intends to, the appeal still needs to be filed, then withdrawn.
(Another reason to rid of it, the appeals process makes it a much more expensive process than life without parole)
This has to be one of the easiest wishes to obtain if an atrocious deed has been committed.

Aren't you by law required to appeal your way to the supreme court until it is denied once and for all? I always thought it was a mandatory requirement.

His lawyer had no need to inform the court he had already prepared an appeal. He essentially revealed that the convict was untrustworthy and conniving... Unless that too was part of his sinister plan to ensure his own demise.

He was not playing games, the law is a little weird where even if you want the death penalty you have to file a appeal first against the sentance before you file a motion to dismiss all your appeals, little crazy I know but that is how it works in that state.
I'm thinking he knew the judge would say he had to appeal. Isn't that what he did?
This is a well known case in Tampa.That same judge sentenced my brother to 23 years for robbery.

He shouldn't have been able to get the sentence he requested so his remaining time could be easy he should have to suffer and serve life that way at least it's a sentence that affects him but giving him exactly what he wants to make his life easier That's so wrong
The appeal is required it's not an option. It's a last catch just in case of innocence. The court makes the attorney file within a particular time period.

We will not get a chance to see what the appeal paperwork actually said. The paper could be a confession describing what he did and asking the appeal court to hurry up with his execution.

It’s mandatory appeals that have to be filed no matter what the defendant says that they want. It’s BS but it is there for people who are innocent or don’t want to die. Unfortunately we have executed innocent people and they actually try not to.
he has to enter a notice of appeal before he can withdraw.... that's why the judge told him to do that before he withdrew.
Him being concerned about his comfort sounds selfish because it is.
