i only ever knew one of these sovereign citizens irl, he was nobody i'd ever associate with myself, but the brother (foster brother, who would go on to SA this sister of his) of a lady i'd get pills from. this guy was malicious, but also just too stupid to exist. he would right in front of me and inside a tanning salon i drove them to, be scamming people over his phone, running a scam where you pretend to represent a hacker who will fix your credit for $$$$. then they call and say the feds are on to them. then a "crooked fed" extorts cash out of them so they avoid charges.... it's a multi-step and OLD scam script from the early 90s at latest.... but he'd be doing this on the phone at long clips in front of anybody, he just didn't care.... didn't have the sense to be slightly private about FELONIES he is actively committing
he broke into his own sister's place and SA her while on speed
last I knew of him, he borrowed a car THE DAY he got out of prison or jail. made a connect inside, somehow had some seed money, he took his borrowed car, and bought bulk fentanyl. immediately after buying it, he turned the wrong way down a one-way leaving the place, with no seat belt on. drugs were left in plain view on the passenger's seat
doing this THE DAY he got home, i don't expect they decided to show him much leniency. but i googled him once and found his Twitter, and it was all this sovereign citizen nonsense, him trying to sell ebooks about it. LOL

By the fact that he's in court, he's acknowledging that the court has jurisdiction...or, he wouldn't have bothered to even show up.
Also, the judge should ask the defendant if he can give the address of the court that he thinks he should be in.
If the defendant still doesn't understand, then a competency hearing should be ordered.
