Thanks a lot for your knowledge sharing!!! You helped me to choose correct model for what I need!!! God bless you!!! P. S. I love your smiley sarcastic way to bring info to people - it’s unusual lol
I ordered my curio 2 and it’s in the mail. I’m a Cricut girl and now I own a cameo 4 for like 3 days and haven’t done much just playing with the software to get myself use to it. What other items have you engraved on this curio 2. If you have other videos regarding engraving can you provide the titles. Thanks in advance. Looking forward to learning.
I think I have only done acrylic. I need to get the Curio 2 out more often, but my space is limited. And I'm unorganized. LOL. I'll try to fix that. It is intimidating at first, but it gets easier as you go.
I am very interested in working with PMC (various metal clays) and Fimo both cutting before firing and engraving after. I was thinking of the Cameo 5 until I saw this (AS I design jewelry you never usually make a piece more than 3 to 5 playing cards thick. But certainly the engraver tool adds more possibilities. Wow you just saved me from buying the new Siser - was wanting it for speed and quiet butt its thickness limit is 1mm. (How does noise level of Curio to Cameo 5 compare? Curio is the only machine out there tat mentions metal clay. Now I am drooling.
Being new to the Curio 2, I was impressed with your project! I have the engraving tool and debris tray - just need to do it. I would love a live class. Also, how thick was your acrylic? I have some I ordered from Craft Chameleon that seem to be pretty thick so I will start with them. I picked up some acrylic blanks from Michael's that are not as thick and I'm not sure how they will stand up to the engraver tool.
I had to go back and look at the product disruption. It says .08 in thick. Not very thick at all, really. I always start with stuff I have on hand so that if I mess it up, I don't feel the loss. Lol
@@AyanAcademy I'm not sure. It should be OK if you are using the cutting mat as well, but you might be able to find more info on the Silhouette website.
@@silhouettesuccess Thank you! I am not located in a country where the debrid tray seems available. Planning to get one so I am trying to make sure. Thanks a lot for the info! :)
Thanks for doing this tutorial- I need to open my Curio & start practicing. I wish they had a tip that can do fine engraving. Can I use the stippling tool?
I'm not sure, honestly. I'm thinking you might be able to get a thinner line with less force, but this was my first time using it. I definitely need to experiment some more to see exactly what it can do.
The adhesive mat didn't come with the curio. It's a standard 12x12 adhesive mat from Silhouette. They can be purchased from the silhouette website, Amazon, or local craft stores.
Thank you for the kind words! I don't know when the tools will be available in Europe, unfortunately. The foil pens, engraving tool, and tray were all released at the same time here, so hopefully they will get to you soon.
@@silhouettesuccess that’s not as bad as I thought! I’ve seen some other machines take hours. Do you happen to know if the curio 2 can be used on mobile iOS?
@@silhouettesuccess I did check it out and I don’t see curio 2 or cameo 5. Both of the machines I was looking at. My computer is slow and I wanted to just use my phone for now. 😞
I am interested as well if there is very little cost my cancer last year deductible kinda knocked funds down and getting my curio and cameo 5 was possible thru gifts from my husband and his family early birthday gift..

Look forward to the class 😊
To be honest I need to learn most of business edition software. Both machines look fabulous
I still learn new stuff. It's a lot!
Can you engrave in silhouette camo 4

The Curio is amazing!! But it is not quiet. Lol. It's especially noisy with the engraving tool. Think of a Dremmel.

Is the debris tray necessary? Does it come in the box?
It is necessary if you're using the embossing tool or engraving tool. It does not come with the curio 2. It's an extra purchase.
@@silhouettesuccess how about hot pen? Do I need that in order to use the hot pen?

Wanna know how it can cut wood arcylic ect say it can cut 20mm
It can cut up to 3mm. The thickness of the material can be up to 20 mm. That allows you to sketch or engrave on thicker materials.
Where did you get your mat? I don't recall getting one with mine?

I am absolutely interested. Count me in
I'll put info out soon!!
why not use a shop vac to remove the debris as it is cut?
Mostly because I can't fit anything else in my craft room. 😅 I am going to invest in a small cordless vac that I can hang on the side of my desk.
i am interested please!
So looking forward to this!
How long did it take to engrave?
I can't remember now. I think it was like 20 minutes. It's not a fast process.

@katiebug5273 the last I heard, the app has not been updated, but that was awhile ago. It is free, so you could download it and check it out.

@katiebug5273 the app is really only good for cutting. It doesn't have many designing options, unfortunately.
I am interested in the class.
I am still working on it. Life got messy for a while, but I will let everyone know when it's up and running! 🥰 Hopefully soon!!
Is the debris tray a separate purchase
Yes, it is. I believe it's $39.99
