My favourite part about this issue being the "the most brutal fight in Spider-Man history" is that issue 5 was also solicited as "their most brutal battle ever" which means we've had 2 "most brutal" fights in the same run. It gets even funnier if you reread issue 5 and realize that Spidey and Tombstone never fight in it.
@@mnstash I honestly thought the first arc with Tombstone was flawed but enjoyable but the book went downhill so fast that I went from reading the issues because I cared about the characters to reading the issues to see how much damage they could do. Even the "good" issues in this run don't hold a candle to the worst issues in Nick Spencer's.

Good news is we have had ultimate Spider-Man this week which was a major breath of fresh air over the awful amazing Spider-Man which is just terrible and a garbage book of a series from the beginning to the very end of zeb wells awful run in my opinion.
We’re almost done…finally. Once the end of the month rolls around, Zeb is officially out!!! But then we still have 8 Deaths to deal with…Lord help us all. Honestly, the ASM are completely unrecognizable and they must be fixed somehow and someway. Hell even I could do it, and I’m still a fairly new writer. I’m currently working on a fan-comic called Ultimate Moon Knight, but I have ideas for how to fix ASM in a rough idea I have dubbed “Peter Parker: The Amazing Spider-Man”
Yeah, I have seen so many fan takes in posts and comments that would immediately be better than what they have been churning out. Sheesh, I was so depressed with the MJ stuff this run and how one dimensional everything was now with her character as “woman who betrays Peter for poorly fleshed out reasons to stoke drama and rage bait” that I even wrote my own story from her perspective to explore the psychology behind it all and why she was treating Peter the way she was. I just feel like this run has let down so many characters so badly, forcing them to behave in awful ways that betray everything that they previously stood for and not really justifying any of it in any believable way. It’s all so so poorly written.

I always said that for whoever follows to be popular is to just “not be Wells”… but as long as Lowe is still Lowering the standards to their very Lowest we can never hope for better with any real expectation.

Spider-man has literally beaten up firestar who is a hearld of Galactus , he defeated Morlun whose punches are harder than base form hulk and who literally was hunting Spider-men for sport and Spidey defeated him more than thrice and now he struggles to beat Tombstone , man Zeb Wells and the marvel Editorial team are really bad i dont think Zeb should be fired , i think all of them should be fired

The only valid Tombstone here is the one on Peter Parker's story and future ever since OMD/BND. And hey, why not hammer it home with the subsequent story literally being titled "THE 8 DEATHS OF SPIDER-MAN"?! I've decided to give the "8 Deaths of Spider-Man" a try, but I'll stop following "ASM" if it's terrible. If so, I'll only read back issues until OMD/BND. That'll be the end for me because the last 17 years have been a disaster for Spider-man comics, except for the original run of 'USM" and the current "USM" version. I think Identity Politics, Wokeness, SJW, etc. have ruined all the main franchises including the newer franchises and their corresponding characters. I think a great example of this is the animated "The Legend of Vox Machina (LOVM)". There's going to be major spoilers here to make my point. The show is based on "The Critical Role Play/Campaign" of the same name from March 2015 to October 2017. I never watched the original campaign because I had never heard of it until the animated series came out in January 2022. After the 1st season, I watched the campaign and thought it was boring as the actors and actresses sat around a table in casual clothing acting out the scenes. However, I really liked Season 1 despite it being woke, t I thought the storyline adaptation was very good, and I decided I wanted to follow the series and became a huge fan. The story: The show follows Vox Machina, a group of mercenaries who are more interested in money and ale than protecting the realm. However, when the kingdom is threatened by evil, they realize they are the only ones who can restore justice. The characters: The show features a variety of characters, including: Vax and Vex: Twin half-elf siblings who are perceived as less than team players Batch: Uses enchanted daggers that return to him after being thrown Grog: A giant who sometimes delivers flat humor Gnomes Pike and Scanlan Kayleth - a Druid Percy - A nobleman The show is in the 3rd season and for the 1st two seasons, and up to Episode 7 of the current season, there have been adventures against dark forces including Dragons and a Vampire. Two characters Percy and Vex (a female half-elf) have been building a relationship since the start of the 1st season. Finally, in this season they become romantically involved. I decided to conduct some research about the original source material and found out Percy is killed twice and resurrected after Vex is killed once and resurrected (it's not as bad as it sounds) and they marry and have 5 children after their campaign/adventure is over. However, the showrunners decided to kill Percy off permanently in this season's 7th episode and the last three episodes 9 to 12 will premiere this upcoming Thursday, October 24. It looks like Percy might stay dead. I'm very disappointed by this showrunner's decision if it stands and posted a comment about that decision. Some commenters stated you shouldn't expect a happy ending because happy endings don't happen all the time. Why? Wasn't that happy ending in the original source material? Sorry for the dissertation, but isn't that what has happened to MJ and Peter? Marvel Comics had to reboot Spider-Man and end his marriage because Marvel didn't want to give Spidey fans what they wanted. They can't let Spidey grow up, become a successful scientist, have a love interest that makes sense, marry again, even if it's to marry MJ again, have kids, and become a leader amongst the Marvel Superheroes. This version of Spidey in "ASM" is complete and utter trash, and the book should be canceled. Why do modern writers change everything about franchises no matter who the character is? Why is the upcoming "Superman Legacy" going to possibly have a live-action Krypto? Really? That's what DC is going to have in this movie? Are a lot of Superman fans excited about a Live-Action Krypto? I watched "Superboy" of the "Superpowers" animated TV show from 1966 to 1969. Krypto was in that series, but it made sense because "Superboy" was part of the "Superman" cartoon. Whoever is writing and producing these shows doesn't care about the source material and must add woke elements to the story. Even "LOVM" has just as many LGBTQ+ relationships as Heterosexual relationships, and even though fans were shocked by Percy's demise including me, the showrunners don't care, they'll write the show the way they want no matter what fans want. Who knows who's going to be Spidey's next love interest in the next run. I hope it's not Michelle the Lawyer or Shay, but the writers will do what they want and to heck with the fans. All I'll say is don't have any expectations for the upcoming Kelly and Ireland run because if you do, you'll be extremely disappointed.
The next run will indeed be garbage. Because as long as Lowe and all the other “idealists” who think that SM needs to be kept pure - that is, single and constantly shat upon by life - to be “relatable” and true to the essence of SM, are all hanging around stinking up the place we will never get anything good. It’s not a cardinal sin to let Peter have something good in his life. A family. It raises the stakes and makes the stories far more compelling than Peter going on yet another date with yet another nobody Love Interest who will be forgotten again (Carlie Cooper who?) who he keeps bailing on because he’s SM and can’t let them know. It’s been done to death and any long term fan (which many of us are) are truly sick of it. And if Peter ALWAYS loses, the losses cease to have impact and anything that ever seems like a win can never be enjoyed, as you know it will just be snatched away again. The wins need to be real and sustained so that the losses have any real meaning.
Hey mate been a while :) i find it incredibly sad looking over the 60 issues during the ‘zeb wells’ era, it single-handedly ruined all hope that was created by Nick Spencer of a Spider-Man comic that’s actually worth our time effort and money! Now all you see is piles and piles of this trash because no one simply wants it and moving from this into the 8 deaths of Spider-Man story is just even more depressing, we genuinely might have to watch him get killed over and over again…WHY

The other reason I will follow Kelly and Ireland's "8 Deaths of Spider-Man" is to satisfy my curiosity concerning what these writers do with Felicia Hardy/The Black Cat and MJ/Jackpot? Will Felicia come back into Peter's life because Kelly was a proponent of Peter and Felicia's relationship, even though I think Kelly will have minimal input in this upcoming run? I'd bet Ireland will be doing almost all of the writing, I'm also interested to see if MJ stays with Paul, and remains to be "Jackpot". I have no idea why I'm curious because "ASM" is terrible. What'll probably happen is that Felcia and MJ won't be in this run. All I know is I'm giving this upcoming run "a short leash". The most brutal comic fight I've ever read was easily Punisher The List, which makes this fight look pathetic in comparison. Drawn by JRJR when he actually had time to draw the damn art in the book (instead of the rushed crap we get in current ASM)

Didn't happen and the "Creatives" decided to take 3 steps back with Zeb Wells. Lost me again after Issue #35, thought the Sin Spider-Man had a really good premise but ended in a NOTHING. So ASM lost me again. Anyway, straight up Q for you, next issues "8 Deaths of Whatever" looks like filler that won't mean anything, that won't fix anything, so I'm going to pass but do you think the next writer after will clean up the Zeb Wells Mess?- or just pretend it never happened and Paul will go by the way of Pedro, just disappear and never mentioned again?

If it's as horrible as the Zeb Wells run or worse, I'll stop following the run after a few issues. There's a minuscule chance this run will be good, but I'm not expecting it to be good. Cheers.

The most brutal comic fight I've ever read was easily Punisher The List, which makes this fight look pathetic in comparison. Drawn by JRJR when he actually had time to draw the damn art in the book (instead of the rushed crap we get in current ASM)
Everything just looks so unbelievably stiff within this comic. His art has downgraded so drastically have you seen his latest DD covers?!

I love that Spider-Man is punching tombstone hard! The only problem with this issue to me is that Spider-Man got knocked by a train! Let it end!

Zeb Wells and Lowe made Spider-Man Emotionally Weak and also made him physically weak as well...Tombstone?! Fucker's a 2nd rater at best, I've read Lonnie when he was a Prison Bully terrorizing Robbie. Zeb Wells has fixation with 2nd 3rd 4th Tier Villains, he brought back obscure Emissary to ruin Peter's life, imagine if Zeb had another year?! - the next Big Bad?- Big Wheel, Rocket Racer, Human Fly
Not to mention that he used said 4th tier villain to ruin all of Nick Spenser’s hard work😭
@@mnstash Nick Spenser's run was the reason I came back to ASM, I thought the next writer would build on his work and finally nix OMD. Didn't happen and the "Creatives" decided to take 3 steps back with Zeb Wells. Lost me again after Issue #35, thought the Sin Spider-Man had a really good premise but ended in a NOTHING. So ASM lost me again.
Anyway, straight up Q for you, next issues "8 Deaths of Whatever" looks like filler that won't mean anything, that won't fix anything, so I'm going to pass but do you think the next writer after will clean up the Zeb Wells Mess?- or just pretend it never happened and Paul will go by the way of Pedro, just disappear and never mentioned again?
