What a profound lecture, complicating what I thought to be simple and then breaking it down to easily understood concepts and relationships. Then relating it to ethics. I so agree. Not only the statement and explanation of the problem but discussion of possible remedies (achievable or not).
Does anyone know some good places to study ecological economics at the graduate level? The only place that seems to actually offer a Ph. D. program in ecological economics is Rensselaer Polytechnic. I'm interesting in making this field my life's work, because I want an ecological economic and political system to be thoroughly developed so it can be instituted when there is no alternative anymore
Herman Daly was right in the 1970s, he was right in the 2020s, and his school of economics will dominate in the 2120s, because an ecological economy will be the only way to maintain a society that meets basic needs in the face of extreme resource scarcity
What a legend! We were privileged to have him among us. Rest In Peace Herman Daly. May your vision come true!
Great talk by a great man. The Earth needs more people like him. RIP
My hero! So sad I didn't know until now!!!! So grateful for your work Professor 🙏 Rest In Peace darling man. 😭

So sad to learn yesterday the loss I can only hope his message moves forward.

I'm imagining civilization will have collapsed by the 2120s, cause people should listened in the 1970s
