I have the starterset second wave pre ordered. I will also be getting the core rulebook and gmguide, when it comes out. I am excited to play this with friends.
Same! I really want the core rulebook. I was hoping to get a bit more in this starter set but after reading through the rules I'm still very excited to play.
I can't wait to see how they handle all of the jobs not presented in this boxed set.
Thanks for making this! I ordered and am awaiting the 2nd wave of production. I like the tokens and maps, but does seem a bit sparse for $75 after shipping and tax. Looks more worth $50 total. But I love D&D and XIV so I couldnt resist. 😊
Yeah, that seems to be the general consensus. Especially since most of my play is online, I won't be using a lot of the cutouts.
Still, after reading through the rules I'm excited to play it and glad I picked up the starter set. I'm in the same boat, FFXIV x D&D was too tempting to pass up.
... Now if we could just get a D&D crossover event in FFXIV.

I know I'm late and sure you already know what the dice are for, will watch your rules overview after I finished this video but from the start seems to me that the dice and colors are:
Red Dice for DPS players
Blue Dice for Tank player
Green Dice for Healer player
Black and White/Seethrough for GM
@@Hewhowantstoknow lol yeah I figured it out like right after this video. I was like "oh yeah, two dps players, duh". They color coded it for me and I still messed it up lmao.
$60 PLUS shipping just for this??? Oh my god, that's horrible value.
Yeah, the price tag was one of the reasons I was expecting a full player's handbook. I don't regret the purchase, but do think there should have been more.

Honestly, I was excited at first, to hear about the XIV tabletop.
Then I watched a video and found all my excitement sucked away, because they stuck with the shitty Holy Trinity system and forced us into generic DPS/Tank/Healer roles.

@@shadieeryaqati4514 Were you expecting a more broad Final Fantasy type game? While I agree that would be awesome, sticking with the MMO job classifications seems to make perfect sense to me for a TTRPG based on that type of game.
Each of the jobs presented in the starter set feel unique to me and capture the feel of that job from the game. I just would have to disagree that they're generic MMO classes and not FF jobs unless that's how you feel about the jobs in FFXIV itself.
