We missed you! Besides how likable you guys are, we love learning from you. You are a part of our science homeschool each week. We are excited to learn more about pigs!
Well it seems you are evolving going forward. That is the way of farming. You are so right , you are not a petting zoo. But living off the land is what sustains you and your family. I look forward to theses changes and to follow along. You put your heart into this homestead and it shows. God bless you all and thank you for the videos. We all need a good pick me up in the morning. Cheers.
Caught your videos for the first time about a month ago, have watched about all of them twice,y'all are a inspiration for everyone that wants to start homesteading, and us older folks that wish they would have done this when we were younger, thank you.
Awe, the baby kids are so cute! I'm going to miss seeing your goats! I wish I could do homesteading! If only I tried to do it 40-50 years ago! I love watching you and your family living the dream! May God bless you all and keep you safe!
Welcome back, missed you guys! Wow! Bring on the pigs! Cant wait to see the cute little ones running around and showing us their personalities. Stay safe and virus free.
You have the best lifestyle ever. You are working hard, I know! At least you are a team... As a single mom, I have built a green house in my yard, I am getting prepared for van life and then, I will buy a land. Thank you for the inspiration!
The babies are adorable, so sad to hear they are going to be leaving your homestead. No more goat's, I hope and pray really sweet and loving people purchase your animals. Take care you guys and stay safe.
Allot of changes for you guys. You plan very well for your family, sounds like you are on track to being self sufficient. Be safe and healthy. Hugs from East Coast New Brunswick.
I just want to publicly Thank you guys and many other channels for your information. Because of watching these videos over the last few months, my thoughts have switched to self reliance and preparing for possible situational interruptions to normal life. I have been following many channels advice and have been stocking up and planning for future moving out of the city. Thank fully when the current problems have arisen I am comfortably prepared for it. There are things I want to do in the future, but I cannot complain about my current situation. Again Thank you guys so much!! Your channel was my first homestead channel to binge and I watched them ALL! Thank you ! Thank You ! Thank You!! I am not ready for goats yet, but that is one of my future plan.
I love your feeding stations... best one I have seen.. biggest troubles with pigs is them moving their feeding dishes feeders ect... on the hog panel fences think about adding bull ring fasteners to link the panels together easy to use easy to clip apart and strengthens the fence .. love and prayers sent
Good mornin LTH .... the baby goats are quite a treat. I know you are gonna miss having them. You guys certainly have been busy with your pig preparations ... will a roof be put over the feeding stations. I'm excited to see all the hog adventures to come. Take care you guys.
Great choice. I got my first sows and boar last summer. My first crop of piglets were born last week. Berkshire and Duroc cross. The sows are 700 lbs and the boar is close to 1000. But they are all like kittens. You won't regret it
I absolutely love watching all that you guys are doing. I have used quite a few videos on canning. Gardening is also I big help to me. I am living vicariously thru your videos. We live in the suburbs and are unable to do all of the things I love watching you both do. Thank you so much for sharing!
Im happy for you. Goats are not pulling their own weight now that Hope came along. I think you made the right decision. Congratulations on your new adventure.
Wow that’s awesome the pigs are going to enjoying their new home you guys are very hard working I love to watch your channel Be safe and God bless you 🙏🌹
Great video as ALWAYS!! just love watching y’all every morning to get my living taditions fix 😜!!! Everyone is talking about what shows to watch during the isolation at home and I say BINGE WATCH SARAH AND KEVIN!!!! God Bless!!!
Yes, you guys were missed, but I saw your post about this week...yeah, esp. with the weather we've been having...every day counts...totally understand your decision...things change and needs change...nothing wrong with that...prayers for good families to get the goats! Excited for your new journey with a new breed of pig! Last spring, we bought and raised two blue butt piglets...sold one and had other processed - we had to buy another freezer...we did get a lot of meat, but...the breed, we found out is a lard pig...yeah, I wanted lard, and both do I have a ton of it....have rendered a couple huge batches but our bacon is really more fat than any meat...so this breed sounds wonderful...not sure where we can find it in our neck of the woods...N.E. Texas...we won't be breeding but wanting to raise and butcher for our own food and replenish the following year...if you or anyone on here know of any breeders close to the Texas area, please holler! Always happy for you guys as we share a common goal...growing and raising our own fresh, clean and truly organic foods...
Yes they are so cute!! My daughter has 8 babies!! I walk down the hill now and again to get my goat fix!! Awesome !! I hope you find a good home for your herd!! Colene
Super excited! Wish we got a farm tour of the pig farm you were at. 🙂 Maybe when you go pick up your pigs?? Thanks for another great video! Missed you!
I was worried about you! We’ve been busy too! My greenhouse is going good, thank you! I’m looking at harvesting in a few weeks ! You are helping so many people be blessed.
Wish you were closer. I live in Ohio. I would love to buy your buck. Cows are not an option as I am allergic. Have 2 does that are due soon. Our first ND kidding. So excited. Thanks for all I've learned from you. I have been eating salads from my greenhouse most of this late winter!
Hi! This little tidbit is especially for you. There is a difference between a hog and a pig. They like to be clean and when they are happy they curl their tails. I'm glad that all of your pigs have curled tails. As always, Chris Bitonti
The baby goats are so cute! It sounds like you have some exciting things ahead on your homestead. Thanks for letting us come along and watch the process. ❤️
Before I even thought of homesteading, I found your great video of saw horse construction, then when I caught the fever I found out you guys were homesteaders I had to subscribe to your channel. It’s been a great journey so far 👍🏻 keep it up guys
I love what you guys are doing! Very good for the planet. My dream for when I graduate high school is to have a Homestead. Thank you for educating me on farming, cooking, and more!
WOW, I see success here.❣ You2 have Your heads together in organization, and change. Love, Rorri's babies.💗💗💗Folks, goats are pets, sweet, gentle. You need acreage for them, they will eat heavy brush and ingrowth clearing areas of your properties if you "temp fence and move them around. " They are meak, and need to be watched, protected from preditors. You can make, and sell goat cheese as well.
Sarah & Kevin, thanks as always for the video updates on the homestead. Congratulations on your recent decisions of changes as well. thinking often of your homestead as we begin to plan for spring plantings. So looking forward to seeing how the greenhouse(s) are doing with the early plantings. Thank you for your faith and for sharing your lives with so many of us. God's Blessings to all your hard work this year, Rob Schroeder (Rockford MI)
We found while farming our goats were not a resource that was beneficial to us. Though I make soap it just wasn’t. Sold them got sheep, still had meat cattle and chickens. Sheep was a great change for us. Easier to manage, no climbing no escaping and better return for our investment. Hairsheep are parasite resistant, no worming either. Sold them for good pricing at the market. Twin births regularly several triplets good moms. Except for one year. Cattle much more work, larger more dangerous even with right equipment they were like big pets but can never trust a bull. Still have the chickens did meat chickens last year but lost the meat when my freeze died. Something to consider.
The mass killing is scary. My parents farmed before freezers. They just hung chook on clothes line each week. I was too young to realize at first. As I got older I stopped eating meat. Especially when the called our steer tbone.

this brought back such fun memories. baby goats are so much fun. my boys used to go out to the barn to play with them as they are a very social animal and so playful.

Thank you for sharing both your experiences and expertise with us as well as why you've made the decisions that work best for you and your homestead. Blessings and keep safe! ~from Texas
