I blame Nirvana for the depressing tone of rock since the early 90's. It had its place then and Nirvana had some great songs but the whole grunge thing was very depressing.

I'd say its more to do with gatekeeping and either your music needs to be hardcore/metal or appease boomers who stopped listening to new music after 1989. Also the world is getting ALOT shitter and entire generations are getting fucked over and its being expressed in the music. But every 20-30 years things come back in style. Bands like Oasis and even the pop punk scene are almost 20 years old now and its coming back in style
I believe this album only scratches the surface of the talent he posseses . Not many people were constantly exposed to music before they could stand on their feet !
I know his dad and Uncle are Eddie and Alex Van Halen, but this has a Foo Fighters flavor to it, which is also awesome! Kid is ridiculously talented. Glad to see him taking the Van Halen mantle and running with it! The best is yet to come. VH forever!

My daughter and I listened to this together, I turned off her cartoons, linked my phone to the TV and turned the volume up to 68 and played it. She was quiet the whole song and just watched me jam, head banging, air drums, air guitar and of course 🤘

"The lyrics are about regret and looking back on past mistakes. By this time, though, Ed has clearly thought things over, made his peace, and all that matters to him is being with his son." No Pitch Correction, made by a human being.. most likely without a click track.. this is great music for people who like Music.. the real deal .. thanks Wolfgang.
Nonetheless, all modern recordings use pitch correction to one degree or another. You only hear it as an effect when the correction speed parameter is set very high.

I'm 56 and a lifelong VH fan since late 70s. The last CD I bought was 1984 remastered about 4-5 years ago. But this June 11th I'll be buying Wolf's new album - every track I've heard so far is just great. The Van Halen legacy continues...alive and well with the next generation.

There’s songs that give me a happy feeling when the whole thing kicks in between the intro and first verse. This song does that and another one is “Dreams” by Van Halen!

This is an obvious #1 hit! New idea for Wolf, and it’s double meaning “Sooner or later, you’ll have to tap it out”.... every song so far is amazing, and I’m still waiting for an equal finger tapping solo. The challenge is to allow it to be as good if not hold the water of eruption.

I'm 56 and a lifelong VH fan since late 70s. The last CD I bought was 1984 remastered about 4-5 years ago. But this June 11th I'll be buying Wolf's new album - every track I've heard so far is just great. The Van Halen legacy continues...alive and well with the next generation.

This is an obvious #1 hit! New idea for Wolf, and it’s double meaning “Sooner or later, you’ll have to tap it out”.... every song so far is amazing, and I’m still waiting for an equal finger tapping solo. The challenge is to allow it to be as good if not hold the water of eruption.
