Yep.. I agree the prices are just going to keep going up no matter what the quality of the product is in the end. I already own cabinets emulating every game 1up has produced. It’s always been about the dedicated cabinets for me. The prices are killing the nostalgia buys for myself. At this point I can build a cabinet from scratch with an emulator and reproduction original graphics for less money...
Totally understand your logic regarding shipping costs but I'll say two things: 1. Smaller companies can often struggle more to secure containers to even get their products on the ships. 2. Consumers still want what they want. iiRcade needs better games and to get better games they need users. Many speculate they have aprox 10,000 users and need 100,000 to compete for the titles many people want. At Games almost seems to have forgotten they have the Legends Ultimate and software updates seems to be something they simply can't figure out. Nobody currently competes with A1up as far as nostalgia. iiRcade can lock up the odd Burger Time or insert next AAA title but they still don't re-create the cabinet. (Dragons Lair might be a good example if A1up ever releases it -iiRcade DL is not the arcade rom and cabinet shape is not accurate) The fact that A1up is now doing a very good job of replicating the original cabinet shapes to go along with the artwork has set them apart yet again IMO. I think the fact that A1up has succeeded as much as they have despite a large number of continued mistakes by management and awful quality control speaks to the demand of their product. I do think they have reached too high on pricing though (whether they truly needed to raise the prices or not,) there is a limit people will pay and I think the recent Simpsons sale is an indicator of that. I think all 3 companies are somewhat of a disaster but A1up does not really have competition when it comes to games licenses and nostalgia so they will simply battle costs vs how much people will pay. At Games has 1 cab doing nothing new and iiRcade introduced a new cab (I think it's improved but still ugly but that's just one guys opinion). Coinops saves At games a$$ - iiRcade will have online play but with limited games the masses want to play and we don't even know the costs. At games online is a wasteland with tumble weeds rolling through it. Based on world events, it should be an interesting 2022. I enjoy ur vids, keep up the good work. Hope u get into the new house soon.
Good comment and I largely agree. iiRcade and AtGames have issues and limitations but if they're ever going to break through, now will be the time. That chicken and egg problem for iiRcade is a tough one though.
@@UnqualifiedCritics Imagine having a clearcut sale on version 1.0 cabs and u (speculation but probably fairly accurate) are still 90,000 users away from being in the game. I want to sell my iiRcade and lets just say there are not many takers. When a company sells cabs with artwork 100 at a time ,I think it gives us an indication of their current market.
So thankful I completed my arcade before all the craziness came. I feel for the people that are still collecting...unfortunately you're in for it. Quality straight in the gutter and prices sky high for 1Up...oh my, hang on tight!! Love my iiRcade purchase... fantastic value. Best of luck to all!
I think the problem with what you're suggesting is that there's nothing "efficient" about iiRcade. That could change if they get some big licenses, but they have proven over the course of the past two years that they have no ability to do so. AtGames has taken the route of promoting the "BYOG" aspect of their platform, which is all fine and good, but they are ultimately promoting piracy and likely souring any relationships they may have with major property owners. Literally nobody is buying a Legends product to play the built-in games, and those who do will be severely disappointed. Arcade1Up is the only company who actually has a sustainable business model, and their sales numbers are proof of that. I would love to see Arcade1Up release a product that allows for the purchase of additional games, but at the moment, their business model is actually working and companies like iiRcade can't keep up unless they land some major game licenses. iiRcade will go out of business within the next year or two unless they can figure that out.
By efficient I just mean buy one cab -> play many games. They absolutely need more big name titles and imo they have an uphill battle to getting where they need to be (can't sell those cabs at too big a loss I'm sure) but it's absolutely more efficient use of resources than having the equivelent number of 1up cabs to play a bunch of titles.
I agree with everything you said except for Arcade1up having a good business model. They priced themselves out of the market which is why they are having a "sale" on a lot of their cabs now. ($400 for the Simpsons).
Just bought an IIrcade and Legends Ultimate and I can easily say they are much better than any of my six Arcade 1ups. Once I figured out how to save high scores on BYOB, I was done with my modded 1up.
I have 1 legends alu muilicade. A closeout 1up nba jam. MAybe will buy the legends racer cab if it ever gets built. . And then gonna just buy 1up xl cAbs like daytona cruizin big buck. Etc.
That Lloyd Christmas reference 😂😂

Does anyone know when we will get any pinball news from arcade 1 up ?
I think it might be a while :(
I wish Arcade1up would give us some information on the new pinball and new titles for cabinets. Silence is killing me.

I'm just still surprise people spent the price they do on A1UP for a Fisher Price quality product.
they're actually below fisher price quality though. fisher price were for kids but the quality wasn't bad. lol
good video and interesting subject.
i'm glad i got into this years ago and already have most of the cabs i'd want.
that's the key: buy what you want NOW

I wonder what iircade is going to put out today. I bought some more TP yesterday in case it's crap.
