• How to Paint Glass in ...
Have you tried painting glass objects? 🙂
No but I will try my best after watching your video
I love the effect of glass in a painting, as a vase of flowers for example. But I found this video a bit difficult for beginners like me. Maybe you could prepare an easy tutorial for the ones that do not have many skills. Thank you.
Noted! Thanks for watching :-)
This is a superb video, and your teaching style is amazing. Thanks so much for thoroughly explaining the various things one confronts when painting glass and how to effectively paint glass. Now, I think I'll give it a try!
Michele....your instructive videos are wonderful! Keep them coming!!
Thanks so much Shirley I am so pleased you find them helpful, and I will do!
My father painted a crystal cut glass vase of flowers, he had a simple style in water colour which I would love to have inherited!! He used greys and pastels in the glass but it looked sparkling too.I was so glad to have your lesson for this!Thankyou
You are very welcome!
Painting brass, copper, gold, silver, and metals with water color. It is a lot easier with oil paints, but seems impossible with watercolor.
Thanks, a very good video.
Great suggestion!
I love to paint glass, as in a botanical 'portrait'. It's quite fun, and amazing how easy it is to do. Thanks for another great tutorial!
Thank you!
This is fascinating. It's always seemed daunting, but you give such thorough explanations, it resolves all the confusions. I'll be coming back to this one to try out. Thanks very much.
my first time trying Glass. I enjoyed it, but will have another try again. Thank you so much Michele.
You are so welcome!
I would love to see a video on painting fabric. Wonderful videos --- and work. Thanks.
Thank you! It's a deal, I love painting fabric; will add the idea to my to do list ☺️
Hi Michele I’ve watched this video a couple of times. 😊 But I’m filled with dread to try to paint glass. 😬 But I definitely will give it a go. I’m also going to try my hand on painting fabric. I just LOVE this painting. Thx for your comprehensive tutelage. 🥰
You can do it! Good luck :-)
I do regognize it, I did all off those things too, now I have a tumb thats ingured, and switched to watercolor painting. For that I only need one hand. Greetings from the Netherlands.
Hello :-) Good luck with your watercolours!
I also can do only painting at the moment after I broke my arm last month. A good opportunity to relax and heal without stopping our creativity :) Get better quickly, and I hope we will continue to paint in addition to your crochet and my polymer clay afterwards :)
I have painted glass before but I rushed the steps and wasnt that happy. So thank you for the steps and I need to try it again. This will be a great reference video and I need to take time with it in the future.
I know what you mean, Watercolour rewards patience! Glad you found it helpful ☺️
Thank you Michelle
Great video thank you very much
I haven't painted many glass objects because what I had done wasn't satisfactory. Thanks for the lesson that helps me in the future!
It looks wonderful if you can get it right, so do try again 🙂
Very clear video. Glass is interesting to paint.. thanks ! EileenPGoldenberg
Thank you for watching Eileen!
Well done. Excellent videos and teaching.
Many thanks!
Yes, I would like to learn to paint fabric ie table cloth, and clothes
Sounds good!
Thanks Michelle . I feel like this tutorial is kind of rushed because of the complexity of it. Can you do a tutorial only to paint glass and how to paint what can be seen through the glass.
That's a great idea :-)
You mentioned in a recent video that you're previous step by step videos weren't as popular. I can see why this one would not be. If you don't mind here's some constructive criticism ...
You seemed to lack the usual enthusiasm that makes you such a great teacher.
Could have used some editing like removing extraneous remarks and compositing in the reference photo where you compare it with the painting.
The composition is too complex to follow as a step-by-step. It's a cross between a step-by-step and a more general tutorial on painting glass. Perhaps it should have been two videos?
On a positive note, for starters I tried painting a simple glass jar with no background in monochrome and found the principles you taught really helpful. I feel ready to try something a bit more challenging next!
Thanks for the feedback. It's a very old video, I simply don't have time to re-visit and watch them again (I have made hundreds) so your points may be valid :-)
Started doing art during lockdown, at age 74, using acryl ics, can he be used as water colours?
To an extent you can use them in a similar way, but if they are watered down too much they can become unstable.
I’ve been given an exercise of working with a glass decanter that is made of etched glass or crystal along with a small lime green bowl on a stool covered with canvas drop with black as the background. The worst still life ever. I have decided to use blue as my background just because I can’t stand the idea of having so much black on the page. Do you have advice about how to paint textured glass With a dark background? I think I’m almost done however I would still like some perspective on the choices I’ve made. I’ll probably post it on my Instagram. If it turns out well I’ll post it on my Instagram and tag you. I’ve tagged you a couple of times on my watercolors. Thank you have a light one of them
It can be really hard to change a colour from the one you are actually looking at, especially with all the reflections glass gives. Observation is always the key. I always try to look at my Insta tags, but it's not a place I check into every day. I am more active in my facebook group if you fancy joining that (if you haven't already) :-)
@@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber thank you Michelle for the invite. I don’t do Facebook anymore so I miss out on all those great artist groups. Thank you for the response. I really appreciate you.
If it’s helpful …I have seen a painting which had a dark background and bright artificial light from one side to make the glass full of reflections.
What do you use for scotching pencils or charcoal
Not sure what you mean, perhaps a typo. Take a look in my drawing playlist.
I had trouble painting glass too.
It can be tricky 😉
hello Michele, are you a jewelrymaker as well?
I have dabbled 🙂 I sew a little too, when I can find time which is pretty much never!
Hi Michelle your Amazon links to the brushes doesn't work anymore.
Unfortunately Amazon products go in and out of stock all the time and I have over a hundred videos. I am launching my own basic brush set in about a month, I will show them on UA-cam and they will also be on my website.
I thought I was going to see a video on how to paint on glass with watercolour.....hahaha
Ah it's a hard one to phrase because how to paint glass has two meanings!
@@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber ....yeah, but "...... painting in watercolor" has one meaning..........Maybe I need glasses.
@@TonyBraun Well if I find a way of painting glass onto watercolour I will certainly make a video about it ;-)
