It looks beautiful! Making the background a darker green really made it pop. The way you approached the jar makes it less scary. If I ever get enough practice with watercolors, I think I might try a glass jar. It no longer feels impossible. Thank you for a lovely video.
Your explanation of the different areas of the glass are so helpful. I’m really enjoying your instructional videos as well as the rest of your channel. Thanks so much!
Beautiful! I do like the darker background. I've never painted glass, and am a beginner, but so want to practice these techniques. Thank you for a great tutorial.
I loved the way you broke down the individual sections to look at and address. I tend to get overwhelmed with looking at the entire subject at once. I want to try painting glass now. I just need to find a great reference photo to work from! I'm excited now!
I'm so glad that you found the video to be helpful! There's a link in the description section of the video to the photo I used for this tutorial in case you'd like to use that for your reference. Thanks for watching!
Amazing. I’m sure I don’t have the patience or the ability to see such detail, but it was fun to watch. I’d like to try it some rainy day! Thanks for saying it took about 3 hours, so I don’t get frustrated with the time it takes.
Thanks for your comment! I like to know how long a drawing actually took, otherwise it's easy to get frustrated because you think you're going too slowly when compared to the sped up video. You should give this a try! I'm sure you could do it.
Wow. That's amazing. I would never have guessed how that was done. Thank u. It's beautiful. I subscribed. I have painted in watercolor for years. I love it. I can learn some new techniques from you.
I think that dark at the end is perfect. Made the flowers and the jar pop. I don't love masking fluid. For some reason, it's hard for me to get it off and hard to lay down. I think, for now, ai just won't do Bell or Karr jars!! I love how you calm our nerves by saying it will turn out fine. Plus, it's really about the process, isn't it? Thank you!
Thank you for the video. I am currently in a watercolor class and I want to learn more about painting glass. Your painting is beautiful, but I think I need to start with a simpler subject. I did subscribe to your channel.
My, I learned so much from you today. Now I see going slow and using a small brush works much better. I like the way you divided the jar into sections , I think that will help too. It amazes me that watercolor can look so realistic. Thank you for this very helpful tutorial. This is my first time to see you paint, now I'm a big fan!
looks better then the photo. Though I wonder how this could apply to painting water flowing through space, like when a liquid is being spilled. Well, mainly it is why I found this video XD: I was looking for a short tutorial on how to paint flowing water with watercolor. To no avail, I didn't find any tutorials on that. But thanks for this one!
This was a beautiful demonstration. Quick question do you trace the original picture to get the guidelines to paint over? If so, do you use charchol tracing paper or something else? Thank you!
I love this and hope to be able to make a quality painting one day! I was just wondering, since you didn't start at the very beginning, if you sketched the jar with a pencil? I imagine so...after that, you painted highlights? Just wondering about the parts that aren't in the video because for me, I need to know ALL the steps in order to process it! Thanks!
Hi Susan! Great video and a lovely painting! May I suggest one thing? Please do not use music in the background. I know everybody does it, but it is so refreshingly different if someone not following everybody and does it right. Music on the background is basically a sound pollution, especially in the context of our everyday lifes where every day is saturated with sound pollution and unnecessry information. Thank you!
Not trying to be critical, but your reference photo needed to be on the right side as it obstructed the view of the left side of the jar. The painting turned out beautifully done. Glass is a major challenge for me. Going a little bit slower would make learning from you easier. Most serious painters can handle a 45-60 minute video. Thanks for letting us see your work. 😊
I’m sorry my instructions on where to put the masking fluid were not adequate for you. There is a separate tutorial on how to draw the picture that can be found here: ua-cam.com/video/a3b_UgaFU0U/v-deo.html
Wow! Your painting looks more realistic than the photo itself!! So vibrant and detailed
Fun to watch the glass appear as you painted. I also liked the way you painted in sections. 😊

I’ve always been fascinated with ‘glass painting.

Beautiful! I do like the darker background. I've never painted glass, and am a beginner, but so want to practice these techniques. Thank you for a great tutorial.
This is gorgeous - so realistic, and fascinating to see how you have broken the process down into doable sections. Thank you for sharing your skills!
Thanks for watching!
Since you showed how you did it it doesn't look impossible anymore. I think I'm going to try painting it. Thank you 😊. JK FLORIDA USA 🇺🇸.
Great! Good luck with your painting and thanks for watching!

Thank you for your descriptive tutorial! Being new at watercolor could you please do a tutorial on how to use masking fluid and what to use to remove.
Fantastic!!!
Glad you liked it!
Looks great and thanks for introducing this technique 😊
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching.
that is crazy amazing! love it (the darker background was an improvement but hey it was about perfect before that!). thank you.
Glad you liked it!

Terrific. And your presentation style is very appealing - pace is great.
Thanks so much for your feedback! I’m glad the pace is good - I have a hard time deciding how quickly to move through the steps sometimes!

I use the grid method to transfer my drawings. There's a video on how to do it on my channel. Thanks for watching!

Or at very least only use music, very softly in background, when there is a long stretch of nothing being said.
Excellent 😊
Beautiful painting. Just subscribed. 🖌🖊📝
This was great! Question: how (what did you use) to remove the masking?
I really enjoyed the music - it captured that “in the zone” feeling so well!
I’m so glad you like it! I used a rubber cement pick-up to remove the masking fluid. I’ll leave a link to one on Amazon in the description. 😊
The link is up!
I have avoided glass. This was wonderful and has given me some confidence to try glass. Thanks. ❤
Great! I Hope your efforts turn out well!

Thanks for your input and for watching!
Would have been better to show the drawing of the jar and the masking off as well. I WOULDNT KNOW WHERE TO PUT THE MASKING FLUID
I’m sorry my instructions on where to put the masking fluid were not adequate for you. There is a separate tutorial on how to draw the picture that can be found here: ua-cam.com/video/a3b_UgaFU0U/v-deo.html
So rude to shout like this. What’s wrong with you???
